<3 thank you for the lovely comment

Really atmospheric little game, I liked the little details strewn around the environment.

cuuute! Love that you made this with Renp'y. Game runs fine, though I keep seeing warnings pop up.

love to fight cows and birds. Good job with the gameplay, it's challenging but not so much that it feels impossible.

Really cool simulator! I like how you can make your custom tiles with their own properties, its fun to watch the physics on them.

Animations are really cute! I suck at platformers lol, but I like how different mechanics are added to up the difficulty through the levels.

Got stuck in the rock/under the floor on the 2nd level, but otherwise a really cute little game. Good job <3

A very sweet and charming little game. Could definitely see it as a story in a children's book.

I love this a lot, really successful juxtaposition between surreal body horror and shitty hospitals. Short and sweet!

I relate to this as someone who got a ton of plants and then realized I'm bad with them lol. Looking forward to more!

Oh hell yeah, I love trpgs. The isometric view is great, definitely getting FFT vibes. Good luck!

I love your ghost, it is friend-shaped 👻

Totally your choice, but you should know that while it's possible to rate games, there is no "winning" in this jam nor are there any prizes. So it's not an issue at all that your friends might rate your game favorably, don't let that stop you if you want to participate.

I liked it! The controls are easy to pick up and I liked that things like the distance from the cursor to the character influenced the strength of the movement. A lil finicky to read the signs bc I kept overshooting them, but overall it's a neat lil demo.

UI is simple, but intuitive and quick to pick up. I liked the puzzles (even though I'm bad at them lol) it's satisfying to figuring out how to clear one.

The mood and the world setting are really interesting. There were a few hiccups with the code like this error with an undefined variable, though I got through it just by clicking ignore a few times. The story is very introspective with a lot of little details that flesh out the world, and I dig that in a VN. It reminds me of a lot of twine games that deal with similar themes. I also really like that surreal image of the horse legs going on up there in the thread. We love a sixteen-legged horse cloud. Overall I really enjoyed it and would love to see more :>

Your game looks great!!!! Would love to play it except I'm in the no windows gang :') I'm glad you had fun with the project. Gamedev is pretty time consuming, even for smaller projects, but what you have looks great and I'm excited to see more <3

oh you had me at "isekai" and then you had me again at "queer people stuck as their MMO characters"

Definitely interested in seeing what you make. Indentation definitely takes a while to get used to, that and colons, haha. There's a lot of tutorials you can find about specific stuff you want to do, and stuff in the documentation as well. If you haven't seen these yet, here's a couple of links to get you started:

using random integers https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/other.html?highlight=random#renpy-random

This is a really neat interpretation of the theme, especially with the planned synergies between different weather elements. The pixelly 3D model for the cards is neat too, looking forward to your results :>

Simple is good! Some of the best games are nice and straightforward IMO. Looking forward to it :)

I think it's possible for your style to work with the story, as a sort of juxtaposition between it looking charming and cute and the story's darker twist, but experimenting could help you figure out something neat. Good so far, the story reminds me a little of an Emily Carroll style twist!

Wow, this looks amazing, it's really coming together *0* Hmmm maybe steak could be doable at that resolution? Spaghetti? Soup? Really looking forward to this when it's done!

Awww man :( That sucks, but your health is definitely 100% more important. Hope you get the rest you need (ง •̀_•́)ง

oooo it looks so good! I like the GUI a lot :>

I would protect violet tiny baby with my life, probably

Your concept art looks so lovely and soft! I'm excited to play all the cool twine games coming out this jam B)

It's ok, zombies deserve love too. Looks really solid so far!

I'm cheering ladybug on TmT

Love how strong your linework is! Looks like a great start so far, looking forward to the finished game :>

This is a really cute and creative concept! Good luck, looks like you have a great start so far :>

The sprites are so cute! I also dig the extremely 90s pastel text window frames.

BESBIANS!!

I love the player sprite and your mockups have a lot of charm, even with the default palette. Good luck!

Ooo logo looks slick! It's neat how you prototyped it in twine. Good luck with Renp'y!

1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?

Hi, I'm Queenie! I'm an illustrator, a Renp'y Ho, and I help mod the MFGJ discord server.

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?

I did not participate last time, but I've participated in older MFGJs in the past. I probably won't make a game this time either, I'm mostly here to hang out, and help answer some questions and things :)

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?

Ace Attorney series, Paper Mario TTYD, Zero Escape series, Yakuza, etc etc. VN games like Ace Attorney, 999, Dangan Ronpa, We Know the Devil, and more have inspired me to make my own.

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?

I'm a certified Renp'y Ho (ie. i've googled dozens of different lemmasoft threads) and I've worked on a few shipped indie games doing 2D assets and concept art.

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

VNs, art, and that good gay shit. And Dua Lipa music videos.

6. What are your goals for this game jam?

To keep participating in the community, help people out, and do my part to help keep MFGJ a fun and safe space for everyone B)

7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?

Limit your scope (please) and have fun!! Don't worry if you don't finish within the jam time, it's all a learning experience \o/

8. If you're a returning jammer, what can the admins do to improve your jam experience?

Memorial service for sproutbot :(

(nah, admins are great)

I just played the whole thing in one sitting and I loved it!! It reminded me a lot of what my childhood experiences were like.... like, eerily similar. It was indescribably heartwarming to play Butterfly Soup, thank you for making such a wonderful and sweet game.

Tbt to when all my friends would say "ok did you fail, or did you Asian fail" \o/

I love text-based games, so this kind of interactive text stuff is super neat :0 Life pretty much finds always finds a way to slow down game projects, but good luck with everything!
