pro gamers should get the good ending

(2 edits)

Hey all,

I tend to do jams alone but that also means I join 10 for every 1 I finish.  When I have teammates to work with who are also dedicated, I tend to have a much better rate of completion.

I am familiar-ish with godot, love to make music, and can make some bad art. You can see the games I've made in my profile!

I would be looking preferably for 2D artists (pixel would be great, but anything's good!) and people who could help with design and code.

I don't have a ton of time I can commit to this jam, but I could promise at last a solid 10 hours, which should be enough to make something with a reasonable scale. Even if you just want to brainstorm the theme together for a bit at the start of the jam, shoot me a reply or PM!

The pace felt so good and the music worked perfectly with the gameplay!  Really nicely done!

Love a tower defense game and this one felt well-balanced and perfect for the jam!  Well done!

Clever idea and it was pretty fun trash-talking that asshole Joe!

Nicely done, especially for a jam! Some more time spent on really refining some of the levels and this could be an awesome and challenging puzzle game!

Looks interesting but I couldn't figure out how to interact with it!

Once I understood how to play this wound up being very fun!  One of my favorite entries so far!

Nicely done!  After spinning and winning a few times I tried to see if I could break the slot machine by spam-clicking and I managed to stop the reels half-way through a transition!  Didn't seem to cause any gameplay side effects but it was fun anyway!

Pretty challenging to control but this feels like one of the more unique and interesting concepts I've seen so far!  Couldn't get vary far because I kept accidentally launching the snakes across the screen!

Quite a lot of quality stuff in here for a jam!  Well done!

A pretty fun and challenging boss battle!  there was a good variety of move the boss had and it felt just hard enough.

I loved the simple art and how the animations really brought them to life. Felt pretty well-rounded for a jam game!  Well done!

Liked the gravity effect with when hitting enemies. Played well and felt pretty fair, though I agree with the other comments about the odd feeling of standing still to reload.  Might have been good to regen health when standing still instead?

Looks good!  Couldn't figure out how to do much but it looks like it's got potential!

agree with the above but it’s also nice to inform your players that it’s unfinished.

Of course!

thanks! I’ll have to double check the windows project, thanks for letting me know!

For one, there was a fuzzy filter over everything at all times.  I'm not sure if that's a stylistic choice or bug.
Second, only 1 ghost ever spawned.  I waited a minute or two but nothing else ever did...

Controls were great the atmosphere was perfect!  A bit frustrating with how the torpedoes didn't really do much to deter the creatures.  Maybe having them swim away from you or die after getting hit would help?  They tended to immediately start following me and hitting me from behind when I would hit one and try to run away.

50 deaths, 14 minutes.  That last set of platforms made me so stubborn and mad! lol  nice job!

Played it for longer than I was expecting!  The platforming was the hardest part for me.

Unfortunately I can't see that anything happens after the first ghost comes out and gets captured.  I like the music though!

Loved the visual effects and the basic gameplay!  Some added content and events would make it more engaging for a longer amount of time!

The sound effects and art were great!  Enjoyed the quick experience, thanks for making it!

The art was great as was the music!  Ran into a bug at the end after getting hit by the wolf where I couldn't move anymore.

thanks! If you had enough room for food in your inventory, there might’ve been a bug depending on where the deer died. Sorry you ran into that!

I pushed everything too far to the deadline. D:  Couldn't squeeze sound and music in even though it's my favorite part of game makin!

I like the idea of card games that are more instances of puzzles instead of randomized strategy kinda games.  This felt great to play and the art suited it great!  My favorite so far!

Great concept and great themeage! The three levels are cool and I would have kept playing for a while if there was more.  Nice!!

SFX and controls feel pretty good!  I think the core mechanic could go a long way and it would be even better with some more variety, obstacles for the enemies, other objectives, etc.

Great as it is though!

Very fun little game!  Love the flip mechanic and the controls are tight.

One little thing I might suggest is enlarging the smaller enemy bullets a bit as I had a hard time seeing them.  Nice job!!

This was the kind of idea I was trying (and failing) to come up with!  Nice!

That last level was so satisfying!

Quick and fun! Powerups are always satisfying and adding more stuff will make it even better!
