Hi there! I've just read this. I'm glad you found my music useful for your visual novel, made my day.  And thank you for giving credits, really appreciate the detail :)

Hello! Yes, as long as you give clear credit I'm fine with It :)

Cool! Very Jazzy. Love the sound of the synthes and the caracteristic bass, 80s all over the shop. Nice details with the congas and shakers, very stealthy vibes.

Well, that's because is exactly like a fragment on "the making of a cyborg" from ghost in the shell xD. Thanks a lot

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words

Are you Mick Gordon's nephew/niece or something? That was aweseomeeee. I really enjoyed the entire song, but the section starting from 1:45 gotta be my favorite, sounds so Sick,  what a maniac banger, makes me want to shake my head while doing something crazy and illegal (very illegal xD )

Solid mixing, great distorsion and effects. Pretty sick 10/10 definitely one of my favourites

I can totally see this as a gameboy game soundtrack. Simple yet it gets the job done, no more, no less. Nice!

Interesting use of the dialogue, I think it fits good enough with the music, giving it some choesion to the theme, quite memorable. It would have been pretty sick if you tried experimenting with different dog sound samples/barks and using them as instruments for the pads and synths, and using them in a way that conveis the emotional situation of the dogs  🐶 . That could help to make this already good entry in to a super memorable one.

Overall that was very nice, congrats!

Everybody gangsta till that dope drop geos HARD. Wow, I love how over the top is unironically.  Nice stuff buddy

Nice aesthetic and blend of styles! Ilked the congas and the synth movement, It really gave me some Tank ibes from the cowboy bebop opening, specially at the beginning, super nice. I like the groovy layering and the instrument hierarchy, I think they were very well chosen.

A very nitpicky point: I think you were going for that kind of caracteristic super wet sound of the 80s, but I think turning the reverb down a bit in some elements like the bass arps can help to make all the layers more legible. Point out that it is not  mjor problem, and also is up to tastes and styles, I don't consider this a mistake :)

This is a banger ost. Really like the build up and drop of the first track. Very action packed and indeed I think you captured the style the Cybperunk 2077 goes for. Mixing is very good, all the layers blend together nicely. I really love the punchy snares and how it stands out, but doesn't feel annoying or is stealing presence to the other synths and arpeggies, very well balanced. You have a lot of little sound detail in the layering btw, that's super nice.

Solid entry and one of my favourites, be proud of yourself for making this great soundtrack!

Man, I relly enjoyed this urban and dirty music style, I think it really fits with the mutated rats thing, so I'd say you both nailed that aspect. This is very specific, but some samples/vst (specially in track 2 and 3) really gave me a PS2 kinda OST vibe, similar to the ones used in Ratchet and Clank or Armored Core.

My favorite was Krawl: Only a couple of seconds in and you get  immersed in the poor streets fill with problems and government conflict. The juicy bass and pads, the dry piano, groovy drums and glitchy sfx really sold the atmosphere to me

I also enjoyed Rat Race Baby: While I was listening I was thinking that this sounds similar to some tracks of Gran Turimo 4, the drum & bass rythm mixed with the floaty pads are really nice (That's the kind of sound I meant it sounded like PS2 xD)

Great entry, congrats to both of you!

Great atmosphere and textures, I can really feel the dark haunting distopic vibes.  I think start adding more intensity to the tracks progessively is a great idea, and it really sells the ilusion of a story that is happening while you are listening. Really gives coherence to the whole soundtrack and makes it more than just scattered tracks. Great job with that!

Really like how you approached this theme, It really feels like you have something to say, which makes this entry much more interesting in my opinion. I enjoyed the rapping style along with the electronic production. And the soft dream like section at the end caught me off guard. Really cool!

Impressive work! I enjoyed the interactions with the colors and the passive effects sytem. The art direction is really nice, accompanied with great music and audio. You got a very solid result in a short amount of time.

Congratulations, great work!

Cool concept and presentation. I wish the idea of the odds deciding your fate was more developed with different situations and interactions, maybe tossing a coin or playing the russian roulette with other coworkers, but the idea is definitely there.

Good work!

Good presentation and Visuals. Enemy types are varied enough to create different gameplay situations.

If you are having such a vertical level design, I would suggest you implement a vertical attack as well, or being able to slide in the walls so you can shoot enemies easier. It was hard in some vertical platforms to get rid of the flying robots.

What about rewarding the player with regaining health when killing some enemies? I found that you can run pass almost all the area without fightin except for a couple of cube enemies that were blocking your way, and it's really easy to get killed when a lot of bullets are coming in your direction

Other than that, I think it was good! :)

It's atonishing tht you did all this by yourself. I think is my favourite entry of this jam. The idea of the game is risky and hard to pull it off, but overall I think you did great! Congratulations for your amazing job!

Let me give you some feedback that I think can improve the game:

Overall the controls felt good, I feel like you should freeze the character a couple of frames when he jumps of a wall to avoid pixel perfect inputs from the player. I think a bit of coyote time would help as well. I usually don't play with the keyboard mapping you chose, but I got used to them mid-game, I'd only suggest to use the W key for jumping as well, it was a bit tricky to slide with S and inmediatly afterwards jump with J.

I love the past versions of yourself idea, very reminiscent of Celeste's "Badeline" sections, You really created some interesting situations and presented different challenges. But I think is lacking a sort of trail to know the direction they are coming from, when there are a lot of them is hard to tell. I think you should limit the maximum amount of clones you can have, I was about to defeat the final boss but I couldn't beacuse the level was filled of clones and there was simply not enough space, sometimes I even died inmediatly after respawning in the previous clone hahaha.

I also didn't quite get the jump over your clones mechanic, in the last section before the game . I felt I overcame it by luck more than by skill hahahah I didn't understand at all what was happening, and it's very tricky to pull it off, I think this can be a point where a lot of player can get stuck and frustated and drop the game, be careful with this please :)

I liked a lot the idea of choosing which clone you want to revert when you die, it gives the chance to the player to choose wheter he wants to start from the beginning or just repeat a small section. The only thing that annoyed me about this is that you can respawn in a position where other clones are currently in, and I think abruptly cutting off the music really kills the flow. Personally I'd prefer if you didn't stop the music, maybe add a Low-pass filter or whatever, but something that enhances that fast paced-game idea, This was  a noticeable issue in the final boss, it's practically imposible to listen to the whole track without interuptions hahaha.

Speaking about music, I'm surprised that you did it yourself as well. My main issue is that the frequencies were not balanced and the sound was really distorted, you should try to balance it using and equalizer, but overall it fits fine in the game (By the way, if you are planning on continue working on this game I would really like to work on some music if you need/want :D)

Summing up (I wrote a lot, I know xD ), really good work! Interesting mechanics and executions. There are some issued here and there, but I can say without a doubt that this is a very good game. Congrats!

Thank you! There are som flaws, but I1m happy with the result ^^

Thank you! I also enjoyed a lot your work ^^

Excellent job with the little counter melodies in Stage 1, full of nice details

Wtf!? It works so frkn well, the concept is very clear and effective. I like how the harmony and melody can't stay still for more than 3 seconds but sill sounds friendly, but the disonances tell you that something is not wrong? May I ask why you chose to have just a piano and a flute? I'm curious :3

A nice variety of ambient and textures. The end cutscene theme really got me

Thank you! And please, do not hesitate in criticizing my mixing, I do want to improve a lot that aspect, and I'm planning on remastering all the tracks, so I really want to hear what you have to say please :)

I don't know why I didn't listen to this before. I like a lot how you related the musical ideas in every track. So good. Is not your fault, but I wish it had some nice Vocals. It gave me that 80s Pop song vibe, the melody and chord progression are so uplifting. Excellent work!

A very classy and elegant soundtrack. The muted trumpet in Agnosia is so smooth and AAASRWRARSRDH I LOVE IT! I like a lot the dark and mellow tone in general, but i still sounds so fun to listen. I don't have any complains, your work is SOO GOOD!

Wow. Nice guitar playing!

Thank you! Everything in this soundtrack is digital. I tried to put a lot of care in the "playing" technique tho, specially in the guitars.

The winds you are asking for... Do you mean the "flute" for the main melody?, Is from a free kontakt library, I'll share you the link if you are interested :) https://taqs.im/downloads/kontakt-free/

Thanks again for commenting ^^

Hi guys, I've just finished reading all your conversation, and OMG. I'll try to be brief.

First of all, I'm 20, so I'm still young and inmature as an artist, but I'd like to say that I strongly agree with Yazorius about the expression of the artist and I support the authenticity when working on your music. The key is always the weight of your creative decisions, and like he said, something might sound great but might be soul-less... But that's a well known story for everyone, I'd like to add something else to this conversation:

Art expression is VERY LINKED to the uniqueness of the individual and his ideas/style/method. I'm not very into the music production market, I actually do music because I love it, I don't have any formal studies and I learned to play the guitar myself (Sadly I don't play it very often)

But I'm quite aware of the Real time engines that are being developed. Unreal engine is a great tool, but when the technology is so easy to use, the free assets so easy to get and so, everything ends up being THE SAME, and that is a reflection of what most people really care about, the final product.

And don't get me wrong, UE is a magnificient tool and has a lot of possibilities, but the easiness which you can get "nice" results is terrible from an artisitc perspective, and this standarization overshadow people who carefully craft their experience with their own stuff. And is not because of the complexity or the technical quality, is about the Authenticity and the UNIQUENESS of the individual.

After reading this, I appreciate more your comments Yazorius. I noticed that you took your time to say something special and special to a lot of people, always trying to be authentic. Thank you

I hope I didn't say too many dumb things. I'm so glad to see people caring about this as well in this jam

Jeez, you did this with a tracker. You have my respect. It sounds so Authentic. Nothing else to say. Excellent

A wholesome interpretation of the journey. Very dramaric and introspective soundtrack .Curious chest is my favourite track, I think it works very nice as a decissive moment for the charatcer, followed by the farewaltz.

VERY NICE

This is super fun to listen hahaha Very nice, I was vibing :)

btw, your souncloud link goes to the "desong" track, not the entire playlist

Last Stretch rocks so hard! I really like the feeling of "crucial moment" the Too high track gave me, it reminded me to Celeste. Very good job

A high quality soundtrack with a sweet nostalgic feeling. I would describe this as that music that makes you feel nostalgic for something you haven't played or listen before wtf. I think my favourite track is Temple by the sea. Very nice!

This is so good. The catchyness of this soundtrack is beyond great. I like the sound coherence in all the tracks, both in composition and sound. My favourite is the victory theme. Is almost insulting how catchy yet stupidly simple is.

Great work!

Why do I want to cry rn? You did a very good job selling the emotion with the harmony and the melody. I do want to say that the track is quite repetitive tho. I would suggest a couple of things in order to improve it:

Modulate/Write new passages to keep the listener fresh. Nothing  too fancy

Use the instrument dynamics (if your libraries allow it). The track felt monotonous because it was playing always at the same intensity, I personnaly like the "rollercoaster" approach, in which you start playing quietly, develop till a full climax, and then start lowering down the intensity again.

Try to vary the main instruments in every section; Another way to keep the listener fresh is to change a bit the instruments protagonism. For example, horns might be the focus at the beginning, and later you can write a string only section to change the texture and add new colours to the song.

You have a solid base, and the emotion you want to sell is very clear, you just have to tke care of those details ^^

Very good job tho, I can see that you actually put a lot of effort on it

Very nice retro sounds and melodies. Good job

I didn't expect this mixture of orchestral hip hop at the very end. You actually mixed very different music genres in a very homogenous way, good job. I just wish there were more hip hop tracks, Reflection was definetly my favourite, followed by Blue Shift.

I like how it kicks off the story after Home with the electronic synths, is a very nice continuation of the previous track and a good example that a soundtrack is not a bunch of individual songs, they actually complement and link ideas to each other, I appreciate tht a LOT.

Incredible!

This is is SICK! Awesome job. Your music reminded me to Rory Bjorkman's Sci-Fi Fantasy armor knight artwork, check it out https://www.instagram.com/p/B_Qc5mJDS6D/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet (Idk why the link doesn't work if you click on it, plz copy and paste it)

I love the dark and glitchy sounds of the synths, a lot of feedback and flanger like sounds. It's a very unique soundtrack specially for this type of game. I would love to see this is a full developed game.

I'm not very experienced in Electronic music, so I can't give you any useful feedback other than you rock! The magician's theme gave me glimpses of King Allant's theme in Demon's Souls (I actually imagine this game like a distopic Sci-Fi fantasty Souls like). Amazing work
