Description
As suggested by the theme of the Jam, I created a song (Main Theme) inspired by the feeling of joyfull nostalgia. Then I developed it into two new tunes, based on the two parts of the main theme, with a mood of adventurous seek for rememberance and discovery.
The Main Theme is supposed to play on the Main Page (Menu). In a real game, it would be looped until an action from the player. The version submitted here has an intro and a coda with nostalgic feeling.
The Gameplay Stage 1 and 2 themes should play during the stage 1 and 2 of the game. They can also be looped and, depending on the duration of the stages, can be separated in layers with new musical elements that appear as the player advances into the game.

I hope you enjoy these tracks I created for an imaginary game. The only inputs were a theme phrase and a picture, so I developed the music based on the nostalgic/joyfull/adventurous mood. Cheers!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I wanted to reflect the feeling of rememberance, nostalgia and adventure, suggested by the theme words and the picture, on the musical material. So, I used upbeat tempos and joyfull retrowave sounds combined with organic and spacious instruments.
The pixel art of the picture led me to use a retroish soundpallet, although not necessarilly a chiptune sound.

Absolutely perfect. The melody, the instrumental choice, the use of chords, ... From the first music, we greatly appreciate the evolution, the breaks, the exposures of the main melody: we know immediately that the composer knows what he does. It's cute, full of good vibes, it's full of details, with those sounds from the 80s and 90s: pure happiness developed into 3 quality pieces. If a game had such music, it would provide players with a wonderful journey, just through its OST. It's dynamic, positive, rich and varied, while offering an interesting melodic exploitation.
