Description
An orchestral, fantasy themed soundtrack for the game "A Journey to Remember":

Every 100 years the humans must defeat the Gods in a contest of Dashball to keep their right to live freely on Terra. The sixth centennial Dashball team has just been picked by the Queen and you have the honour of being the team Bard.

Your role is to shepherd the team to the top of Mount Deus, instil in them the wisdom and knowledge of your ancestors who claimed victory for humanity, and record the events for your descendants to use in the centuries to come.

The soundtrack begins with the farewell parade the city hosts for the team (Track 1), follows the team as they set out towards the mountain (Track 2), we hear their conflict as the stress gets to them (Track 3), but is resolved as the team comes together (Track 4) and uses the power of friendship to defeat the Gods at Dashball (Track 5). The final track then plays over the credits and a montage showing the teams triumphant return and their life going forwards.

Theme

a journey to remember.

How does it fit the theme?
The soundtrack (and imagined game) is not only a metaphorical journey to remember - it is a once in a generation epic event, but also the journey must be litereally remembered. The memories of the journey need to be documented by the player bard to be passed down to the next generation who will need the information to succeed on their quest.

i was listening to "we finish this together" and the electric guitar took me by surprise, it was a pleasant surprise. well done.

From the first piece, the tone is set: richly orchestrated melodies, and benefiting from a particular care given to the brass and percussions, giving an epic color announcing a journey strong in colors. The OST has beautiful major seventh chords, and a very pleasant rendering, especially for flutes and guitars. In addition, many tonal variations punctuate the speech, surprising the listener while imagining himself in conquered / understood ground. Knowing how to manage its effects is not an easy thing. Without forgetting a certain echo to RPGs such as FF7 and FF8 in the second part works, in particular for their orchestration, their atmosphere, or the use of a particularly successful choir, as well as the sudden switch to rock sounds. Great ideas that vary considerably the impacts on the listener.

Lovely orchestration style, and beautiful writing throughout! (Extra bonus points for some tasteful col legno in the third track.)  Your vignettes really do their part well: short, sweet, to the point, and full of individual goodness.  I really enjoyed the whole set!

Sporty and triumphant overall, big fan of Start of a New Journey. Takes me back to character selection.

I like the "Tension Among Teammates". It gives cool vibes :) Also I really enjoyed piano and flute parts! Good job!

Great orchestration throughout this OST! I wish the tracks were a little longer to develop the themes more (Although, I understand that would've been too difficult in jam conditions!). I particularly liked Tension Among Teammates! Really great work on this OST! <3

Great idea that's very different to others! I can sense the journey this group of friends are going on. Mastering could have done with some work, maybe crank the volume up a bit, had to increase my normal volume on my headphones to hear some of it.

Probably the most creative idea that I've read so far in this Jam. Once in a 100 years Dashball contest against gods? xD I love this.

Sometimes the orchestration seemed a bit odd to me and the MIDI part really stuck out apart from the rest of the soundtrack.

Still enjoyed listening anyways! Good job.

It's good music, although I can't say something in particular stood out for me. Good work with orchestra programming and arrangement!

On a critical side, I think those tracks could use some more bus compression. You obviously don't want to overcompress an acoustic orchestra, but while instruments on their own sound alright, they don't really feel glued together very well. Also 5th track suffers from undermixed drums (rock drums need good compression!) and blatantly MIDI guitar and bass that stood out compared to how good the orchestral part is automated.

Nice work overall!
