I enjoyed it a lot. Pretty pixel art, smooth movement, nice usage of the theme for it. You did good!

Simple game but really good!

Sometimes a really simple design and concept can go a long way. You've been able to capture the feeling of anxiety and being lost in the woods. The sound design was really well implemented into the game and I can't lie I felt anxious about the heartbeat getting faster as the light got smaller.

Great work!

Simply mechanics, clean playthrough and very good sfx :) Nice game!

The atmosphere is pretty nice !

The flashlight mechanic worked really well with the theme and atmosphere. Well done, this is a great entry!

Nice! Really effective buildup of anxiety the more the flashlight goes down and the heartrate increases. I did have to turn my volume down, though.

At first I thought using WASD was easy mode and arrow keys was hard mode, which I thought was really funny. Turned out not to be the case though :)

Great atmosphere, excellent sound design and very cute graphics.
Full of little details that make the immersion very easy. Loved every second of it. Great Job!

This game has plenty of little details, and it’s an enjoyable experience, good job! Looking at the hub area, I wish I figured out how to use ParallaxBackgrounds…

Thanks! I've pretty much got parallax stuff memorized but if you want to add some to your own game then this tutorial might help. It was originally made for Godot 3 but I think the information is still relevant.

Great job! the atmosphere and art are very good.

this heartbeat sound ... just enough to keep me stressed throughout my gaming session. Very scary

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game, the atmosphere was set really well with the heartbeats and the twigs. Really fun!

Great job! a quick submit, but I would have loved to have seen more mechanics and maybe a fear bar UI or something to clarify the rules. The sound design was top tier, especially for the time spent.

Thanks for the feedback! I was worried about scope creep so I wanted to make something very simple, but after I submitted my game I felt like it was too simple. Still, I'm glad people enjoyed it.

That totally makes sense, it's the constant balance with game jams. As an FYI, you can upload newer versions of the  game after submitting right up until the deadline, if you achieve your smaller goal really quickly but want to keep polishing it.
