Splendid artwork and unique idea!

 If there was an invisible bar mode, things would get much more intense imo

Besides enemies respawning bug I also managed to see blue background in some room, so you better set it to black too :) Tho it's obviously not intended and you get your 5 starts in 1 bit category, too!

Nice artwork,sfx and enemies  attacking  system. So many rooms allow a player to explore more. Concept of balancing two powers is  appreciated, One thing I noticed  if you kill the monsters in one room and go to the next room and when you again come to the first room the monsters are respawned there.  Anyway this game deserves  5 stars (in all categories) and 5 stars for  the  efforts bro,

Biggest strength is the enemy design, it is very nice spritework!

I do feel like the ai does leave much to be desired, however, as I wasn't really sure what I was doing to them for a while.

Wow, what a game! I had a lot of fun going through these rooms and finding all of the key pieces. I managed to get all three endings too. Great job!

I found it a little confusing, I wasn't really sure what I was looking for when the game started, but once I found one of the key fragments and the locked door things came together rather quick. I can't tell what the balance gauge is supposed to do though (though in another comment it seems to have something to do with endings).

Overall the art is great though. enemies are good looking as well as the rest of the game

Though I must say once I beat the boss the text came up before I realized it and missed most of the dialogue...

The enemy AIs are a little unreactive, but the enemy designs and animations are outstanding! I love those! Great job!

Great concept & design. The game could definitely be improved as some others also said:

- Dialogue text appears too small

- Bullets stop working after some time.

- The elements in the rooms if interactable would really add depth and a treasure hunt kind of experience.

- Light & Dark bullets have a great concept, but poor execution (would love to see this improved)

- Enemies are too easy since they're much slower and your bullets are also really fast!

I think this is a pretty cool and unique idea for a core gameplay mechanic! The sprites also look amazing, and I really like the music you used in the game.

Gameplay-wise though, I had a pretty game-breaking bug that I kept running into (at least I assume it's a bug). After attacking for a little while, I would abruptly become unable to attack at all by left or right-clicking. This lasted between rooms, and the only way I found to fix it was resetting the game from the start. This happened consistently; I saw it 4 times in as many attempts just by attacking enough. It didn't seem to have anything to do with the light/dark gauge, since it was always roughly balanced when I froze up.

Apart from that bug, I wish there was a little more done with the light vs dark mechanic. As far as I can tell, there was no real reason to use one over the other besides managing the gauge, so the mechanic boiled down to "use left click to attack until the gauge is too far one way, then use right click until it's balanced again".  It would've been nice to see a more dramatic difference between the two, like if the dark magic was a melee-type attack to force you to get up close or something.

This is definitely an idea worth working on more; I look forward to seeing how it looks if you do!

And about the light vs dark mechanic, we planned having different endings if you use more dark or light magic. But unfortunately we didn't have enough time to implement the boss battle and the endings :(

The art style is very satisfying to look at. Great enemy character models too. Music is very chill. Gameplay wise i felt there was a very large delay in between me clicking attack and it actually registering. Neat entry nonetheless. Well done.

Nice game, the art is great.  The game's goal was not clearly stated, so I had trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do at first.

I think the enemies needs to have a larger presence in the game, since you can just run past all the rooms easily. The enemies were also kinda annoying to deal with as time goes on since everytime you enter the same area the enemies reappear, and have a lot of health as well. I think if the enemies attacked more frequently, but had less health, it would force the player to dodge their attacks and give the player more reason to attack the enemies back.

The endings don't seem to work, after getting all the key parts and going through the locked area, text played then nothing happened.

Other than that, what was achieved is quite impressive within a one week span. If only one person worked on this, I'm even more impressed. The combo animations, and all the animations looked cool as well. The enemies with custom attacks were a nice addition to the game as well, makes each enemy unique. The furniture and decorations made the level feel more immersive. Overall well done.

Nice game!

The movement was fine for me, the art is fantastic and the music felt good and in-sync with the general vibe of the game.

The actual gameplay was lacking a bit when it came to shooting - it seems like there's a pretty long delay after you press shoot, there's no impact to pressing a button, you should make it instant in my opinion... i loved the combo aspect :)
