I WON!!!!! (or did I?)

Love the writing. Obv the hit boxes are wonky, but so what... got used to it. Tossed myself in the lake just to see what would happen :D

Nice little game here. Who knew throwing wrenches at clones could be so fun?

Picking up the wrench ammo was kind of hard at times and at least once directly lead to my death. I liked the humor of dying by trying to go through the lake. Good job!

Nice tiny game! Charming pixel art and great background music.

Remove the lake and this game becomes twice as good. Put the house closer to the cave and it becomes 4x better. Let me pick up wrenches by touching the actual wrench instead of one particular pixel somewhere below it (and same for the DNA strand and stairs) and you've got 5 stars.

Also having ammo refills drop on a random tile does not make a game "roguelike".

Calling it a micro-roguelike was more sarcasm, nodding to the industry’s confusing usage of that term.

I admit, the wrench (and stairs) hitbox is a bit wacky. The same collision function that worked well elsewhere in the game didn’t work well there. I put as much work into solving it, but had to prioritize other things to get a finished product out the door.

And I wish I knew the game would be 4x better if players didn’t have to take 10 steps in between the house and cave. That would be an easy fix. ;)

Haha Fun little game, Yes again in the same cave. Amazing

Thanks!  I’m glad people picked up on the little bit of humor we were able to throw in. Pico-8 is not the best platform to deliver text on, lol.

Cool game!  I liked the beginning~  I'd be more freaked out if I had to kill my clones with wrenches haha.  Great retro feel~ Checkout 'Puma Cat' if you can.

Developer

Thanks!  Glad you liked it. I’ll check yours out

Great job on a Pico-8 game! Getting just the right hitbox to interact with things was challenging, but moving and attacking have a good feel to them. And moving between the cave and house provides a nice breather between levels.

Developer

Thanks.  The hitboxes were a challenge to code for some reason.  The same function that would work great on one collision, would suck on the other, lol.  Especially the stairs.

Thanks for playing!

Cool game, controls and combat were a bit finicky, but the art style was phenomenal and I loved the challenge.

Thanks!

Neat little Pico-8 game, I liked having to move between the cave and the house after every wave, it was fun! Good job.
