Wow! This looks incredible and the idea is simple but executed very well. The way this was designed  really sets the right mood for a deep sea adventure game like this, so I thought that art direction and music choice was perfect. As for the gameplay, it felt very smooth and chaotic as all bullet hell games naturally are. Something about playing this felt so satisfying that I couldn't stop playing it. One thing I'd suggest to add is to include different boss phases that you can activate at any time and these phases would unlock different abilities and controls. Overall, really fun and visually appealing game. Great job!

Thank you for the in-depth review! I'm going to work on an update to add a few more features, and a second phase is an amazing idea :D

Thank you everyone who has played and left a comment, I appreciate the feedback! If you are at all interested in the development of this game check out this devlog :D It's mostly covering the design so there is no coding, thank you!

wow the level of polish on this is incredible! the art and animation alongside the controls are SO responsive and theres just such a good feeling of "game juice"

Fantastic game! Deserves to be in the top 100!
The art and gameplay feel very polished!

I really enjoyed this game. The concept of being the boss bullet hell monster, the roguelike elements increasing difficult after each round, and the visuals were all pretty much perfect. I really can't think of anything wrong other than I wanted more! Fantastic work on this and I hope you go further with it.

Very polished! Game looks great. Definitely a fun experience playing as the bullet hell boss. My only complaint is I wish there was more.

amazing. will be shocked if you don't get top 100

I like the execution of this, it really makes you feel like the boss in a classic bullet hell game. Very nice style. Left me wanting to see more to it, but in 48h, that's understandable, so very well done! I won't lie, it drew my eye as a fellow tentacle monster vs man game so I had to try it out. It's definitely got me thinking of how our game's tentacle physics could morph into a boss battle like this, but that's for another time.

Very well done, good job!

some of the most fun I've had while playing any game this jam. wonderful job. my only suggestion would be to make the diver bullets more visible during fast paced combat

Very fun game concept.  I look forward to it getting flesh out further.  I see no reason bullet hell bosses can't have their own story progression.

Wow this game was AWESOME! Feels essentially like a reverse bullet hell. I could totally see this fleshed out a bit more.

Very well put together, love all the different upgrades. Feel like this could really get expanded to something amazing.

Also is very pretty

I felt bad that I couldn't give this a proper go on stream last night, so I went back and played it again and I absolutely love it. The aesthetic is great, it's short but it's intense and fun to play! Would love to see it expanded on.

Honestly, this is great.  Really enjoyed that. The only feedback i can give to you is to make the enemie's projectiles more visible (like in red). Good job!!!

Awesome project, great audio (thanks for the volume slider), one of the best bullet-hell games I've seen in this jam

Very fun game, love the art and idea! However, I noticed the player doesn't fire at you from far away, so as long as you keep backing up you can't get hit: which is understandable, but not as fun. Getting up close to the diver and risking getting hit more was more enjoyable (which is what I ended up doing most of the time), maybe an ability/game rule that favored this would be nice. This didn't impact my enjoyment, but probably a missed opportunity. Good job on the game!

colossal oversight on my part lmao, I guess I just missed it during testing. Thank you for the feedback!

Great implementation of the Be the Boss idea!  I like the underwater theming too.

Maybe the best implementation for "you are the boss" i'm played this jam.

One of the best game jam games ive seen so far. Good background music (thank you for having the SFX/music levels adjustable such a nice QOL touch for a simple game). Very polished and feels like it could be a level or a portion of a larger game. it has enough options that it doesnt get repetitive (at least until the end where youre just gaining health- but thats more a function of limited time), is easy to understand, and is a good balance of being not too hard or not too easy, especially for a game jam game where you dont want to sit frustrated playing a game again and again.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! QOL is so important for a small game like this :D

Very intersting idea. Can you play my game?
