Cute and adorable concept!

Submitted

I suspect that if I was living alone and messes somehow got inexplicably cleaned up and such, that would scare me even if I didn't actually see the ghost itself.  (But maybe this old woman is different than me in that respect.)

I liked this game.

One minor issue: The thought balloon that appears at the beginning goes away on its own, which is just barely enough time to read it.  But also if I win and click Retry, then the text in the thought balloon doesn't appear and the game just freezes.

Developer

Haha yes, although it's funny that we might expect more mess if we live alone but not things to be tidier (I know that definitely goes for me).

Glad you liked the game and thanks for the feedback. It seems like we had some issues on Retry that persisted into the final build but hopefully they weren't game breaking.

Nice game and presentation! One suggestion is to have visual indicators on the doors to show which ones are connected.

Developer

Thanks, the original design had colours on door pairs but that unfortunately didn't make it into the final game or wasn't as obvious. The entrance/exit doors are always above/below each other though but that doesn't help too much it seems.

Submitted

Yeah, the colors would have helped a bit. Though it is a minor issue and I quickly got used to the doors after playing a few rounds.

Hey, GrapefruitChili! Long time no see! Glad to see you still making games. :))

Just commenting to say that this submission is so nice, and congrats to the team! The story is very cute, and the art has so much charm and polish! The music had the perfect vibe, too. I really enjoyed playing!

Hey, long time indeed! And yes, always looking for a fun project to work on!

Thanks for the nice comments and glad you liked our game. Everyone put a lot of effort into it and it really paid off!

Submitted(+1)

i love the soft artstyle and the cute story, overall its such a nice game!

Submitted(+3)

I loved the visuals and music on this. I also thought the writing was exquisite and wholesome! Simple mechanics but it does fulfill the theme of roll reversal and I felt good helping poor ol Marlene

Submitted(+1)

Great idea and well done execution. The only issue is that you can't see Marlene moving when you are in the top floors.

Such a beautiful game! Heart warming story, amazing art, handsome animations, spot on music and cool gameplay! It has such a high level of polish that it's hard to believe it was made in 48 hours (until I looked at the size of the team :P coordinating that much people must have been very hard though).

The only problem that I had is that sometimes I would enter a door and Marlene would be right there in my face, effectively scaring and killing her by accident. Although it's a very spooky experience (and thus combines really well with the game setting), it was a bit frustrating lol. Other than that, it played very well!

A simple yet very effective experience. Really good game!

Developer

Thank you and glad you liked it! Thankfully we had a great team that all worked well together so it was as challenging to coordinate as you might expect.

Thanks for the feedback too, we were not sure how best to solve that problem, zooming the camera out ended up being the easiest option but it looks like we could do more to that if we come back to it.

Submitted

Maybe some sort of sound coming from the door if someone's walking on the other side?  (And some sort of animation indicating "there is sound coming from here" so it works for people who are playing without sound)

Submitted

A wonderful experience all around! Really enjoyed the calm vibe and the cute story. My wife and I both tried it, and the only negative thing we experienced is that we couldn't seem to clean the teapot or kettle or whatever. Somehow she won at the end, we weren't quite sure how.

Developer(+1)

It's uncanny how many ghost games we ended up with in the jam lol

Submitted

An impressive game in every way. The controls are straight forward, but it is still hard to avoid the wandering lady.

Developer

Thank you! If you play it long enough you will notice her pattern, also you can hide in nearby lamps when she comes near you, although that could have been made clearer maybe.

Submitted(+1)

I did discover the lamp trick. So it is probably clear enough!

Submitted

Absolutely beautiful game, bravo, I loved the game, very nice, the user interface and animations fit perfectly, great job! <3

OKAY WHOA! This is adorable and the art is amazing! I had such a fun time and felt actually stress about accidently scaring Marlene to death. Which I *just* managed not to do!! I don't even want to see how sad that would make the sweet ghost. I'd love to play a longer version of this with alternate houses and ghosts! Greak work you guys!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The team did a really great job with art, audio, programming and narrative. Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah we are looking into a potential post jam polish on this concept.

Wonderful. Great Job!

Loved it <3

Submitted(+2)

Ok now this is adorable, the art style is really cute! The story is really touching and plus I had no problem during the game (bug or anything), great job!

Developer

Thank you glad you liked it. Despite some initial issues, the team did a great job all around.

Submitted(+2)

Everything about this game is surprisingly well-made!

Submitted(+1)

This is so wholesome! The art and music go so well together, and the ghost is such a sweetheart. I can't believe this came together in just 24 hours!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. To be fair it was actually 48 hours :)

Submitted(+1)

That's kinda cool, I just didn't understood the main goal, so that's not a problem, but overall it's great, Can you also play my game so i can get feedbacks!

Developer

Thank you! The goal is to clean up all things the house without being seen by the old lady. Your 3 chances not to give her a fright!

Submitted(+2)

Really cute game. Nice work :)
