Love the art and character design. The gameplay is simple but that's fine for this kind of game.
Thanks a lot for playing our game!
artistically impeccable, very original idea.
I tried several times but bugs interrupted the experience.
After a few bug fixes, the game could be a real success.
Thanks a lot!
Really nice art style and character design. I liked your limited color selection. Nice explanation with text elements. The game could have some in-game tutorials for guidance.
Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!
Thank you for taking the time to play our game!
Great ideas, art and music... and great bugs ! I guess with some polishing and a few more hints (time left, etc), it would be even greater !
And I love Patrick !
Indeed there are small bugs (we had to rush it to submit something to the jam) but we have a patch that will correct them, it will be upload when the jam ends ! Thank you for playing ! Patrick loves you too
Really interesting concept! I love the "behind the scenes" nature of it, and the game looks and sounds great too. I didn't end up doing very well (honestly, I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I got fired), but found what I played very charming. Nice work!
Thank you! We have a small bug where sometimes a right answer triggers a wrong reaction, so that's probably why you got fired without knowing why. But we already have a patch that will correct it, and it will be upload when the jam ends. Thanks for playing and taking the time to give us a feedback !
The way the NPC was portrayed as a member of a behind the scenes crew makes this entry stand out from the other "questgiver" games I've seen! I wish there was a bit more interactivity with the hero or branching in the narrative, though. It seems like a lot of the answers lead to the same outcomes. It would be fun to go off-script! If you ever expand on this project after the jam, I'd like to see what other behind the scenes activities you can come up with!
Also, I was surprised to see my name in the game!
Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback! We have a bug where the dialogue options don't matter much when we had in fact planned different responses from the hero to the different choosable options. Now it is true if we were to develop the game further it would be great to give even more choices to the player! I'm glad you could fully role-play as Joey !
Love the art style
Thank you so much, our art team worked hard on it!
Despite the many bugs I encountered in my playthrough, namely the retry button on the game over screen not working sometimes and getting fired out of seemingly nowhere, I enjoyed the art and charm of this game. The dialogue is pretty funny and the visuals are pleasant to look at. The sound is quite loud at a low volume, so maybe that could be lowered a little, but this game seems very promising!
Indeed there are some annoying bugs (we had to rush it to have a build to submit) but we already have a patch ready to be updated after the jam that will correct those. Thank you very much for playing and taking time to give us a feedback!
That was amazing, congrats ! I really like the idea to run between the levels ! It could totally be developed in a larger game ahah
Thank you! We thought a lot about the running bewteen levels because we wanted to really give the feeling that the NPC was doing everything on his own, and the artists really did an amazing job to capture that moment perfectly. Thanks for playing!
You're probably already aware that the progression is bugged. Sometimes the knight doesn't even arrive and you get fired. Sometimes when you lose, the replay button doesn't work, but the space button is still being displayed, etc.
Besides that... This is amazing! One of our initial game ideas was to have you play as an NPC, but we couldn't figure out how to construct a game like that. This is a such cool way to approach it. It says a lot about the quality of your writing that I kept retrying the game even despite the bugs. I was more tempted to lose on purpose just so I could annoy the knight. :D
P.S. the presentation is flawless, art + sound. Well done! I hope you expand it.
Thank you very much ! :D Indeed we know about those annoying bugs and we already have a patch ready to be released after the jam, I hope you will be able to enjoy annoying the Knight in all possible ways with it ;) Thanks for playing and taking time to give us a feedback, I'm glad you could enjoy it even with the bugs!
I like the idea, but sometimes i dont really know why i was fired. I understand its a bug, but yeah
Yeah sadly we only noticed it after the deadline
Wow, I'm quite impressed here! I liked how you thought of everything at the same time and that every point was really finely tuned: music, dialogue, visuals ... I had a good laugh with the music when you loose and the mini-game between levels. Like others, I just had a few problems with the dialogue selection and the restart button not working. Would have love to have more gameplay aswell but When a game is this well finished, you obviously want more... and then you remember that 48 hours is a really short time ;). I don't usually say that, but hats off to you!
Waw so much praise thank you so much! Yes our sound designer gave us a good laugh as well with that final song! Thanks for playing our game and taking the time to comment! We'll be sure to work on those issues!
I laughed out loud in the loading sequence where you have to run fester than the knight. It was sometimes hard to tell which was the correct answer, not sure if getting insulted by the knight was normal or if there was a better answer. I got a bug on my second playthrough that made me lose before the knight arrived and then the game was unresponsive. The best take on the idea of playing an NPC i've seen so far !
I'm glad you had fun playing the game ! And yes we indeed have a few bugs, but we already have a patch ready for after the jam that will correct both the game over before the knight arrives and the dialogues where sometimes a correct answer would trigger an incorrect reaction. Thanks a lot for playing and taking time to give us a feedback ! :D
One of the strongest I've played from the jam, especially in the "you're the NPC" genre. A really impressive experience for the 48 hour time limit.
Wow I'm really happy our game managed to stand out to you! Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Pretty cool game! The art was neat, and the dialogs really fun to read. ^^
I sometime had some issues where it didn't seem that the option on which I clicked was actually the one selected (like it answered from another one). But it didn't seem to have too much impact on success, so it's fine. :) I like the variety of tasks, between cleaning up, disguising, even a mini-game between levels. There's a lot of creativity everywhere, and on top of that the game offer glimpses of a neat universe.
You did an amazing job on this game. Congrats!
Very happy you enjoyed! We indeed have a bug where the dialogue doesn't react well to the option chose, but we are already working on it for the next patch! Thanks for the comment!
I love the art as well as the overall idea. The added variety in a form of a NPC running minigame (rapid space bar pressing) was also cool.
Thnk you! I'm glad you like the NPC running, because we really tried to give this idea of "it's one guy behind all NPC that does all the work" and we thought a lot on how to give that feeling, and with the space bar it adds some variation in the gameplay. Thanks for playing!
Very fun adventure, love how the game thematizes capitalism. Great artwork, music and storytelling of course. Only thing is that i dont even know why i was fired haha :D
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you had fun playing! :D For the feedback, yeah, a lot of players say the same, they don't know why they were fired. We have a small bug with some right answers giving sometimes a wrong reaction, so it may be a reason, but overall we should be clearer about what caused you to be fired (like, maybe, a recap' of where you failed to be immersive). Thank you for playing ! :D
I just wanted to share my eggs, but noooo the knight didn't want them, but I tried.... Plus in the end when i gave him eggs it didn't even matter..
A TRUE hero would have accepted your eggs, it was just not the one for you my fellow NPC...
Really good fun! We had the same idea, but I love your execution of it: the racing-the-adventurer-to-the-quest mechanic was very funny and enjoyable, and the writing was really well done!
It seems the idea ended up striking many of the people who participated in the jam, but I'm glad you were still able to enjoy the way we tackled this idea! I'll take some time to try out yours!
This is so fun! I really love how you executed the concept and how fun it was to try again doing different things each run just to see what happens. Art is superb as well
I'm happy you enjoyed it, thanks for the kind words!
