Thank you so much! We are excited to do more with this project.

Oh I'm in love with this! I can see this being a really big puzzley game, like with branching storylines and everything. Maybe if you have plans to make this a full game, there could be something where you have to talk to other spirits or explore places when you're not in a seance? Like Ace Attorney if that makes sense? That might be too hard to make though haha. Either way I really really like this whole concept and I would love to see any sort of continuation! And I really want to help these guys figure out their mystery!

Developer

I'm a big Ace Attorney fan. It was a big inspiration for me while making this. Thank you so much for the kind words! Follow me on here to stay updated on this project.

Wow, I love this so much. Legit, if it were a touch and more polished I'd spend money on it. I wasn't able to fully beat it and see everything since it's really hard to spell Frederick backwards with the evil hand interfering, and that seems to be necessary for completion. But I deeply enjoyed what I did play, the presentation was wonderful and the highly branching narrative is exactly my personal jam.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! We plan to do something to make that hand less of a nuisance.

Fascinating premise with a charming but haunting overall presentation. Was definitely intrigued by the concept early on, and once the demon hand was introduced I was hooked on uncovering the game's secrets (though it did feel a bit difficult to counteract). Would love to see a fleshed out release for this with even more branching paths and mechanics (perhaps other ways the ghost player can interact with the environment). Fantastic job :)

Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!

What a neat idea!

I, unfortunately, didn't get time to solve whatever mystery there is, but it was still a fun experience! Although, the hand was, admittedly, a bit annoying to deal with...

But all things considered, you did an amazing job making this game! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! We are aware that the demon hand is a bit too hard and plan to adjust it after the jam. Thanks for the feedback!

Really awesome idea and very well done for a 48 hour game jam! I'd love to see a much more expanded version of this. It's so engrossing and I spent much more time on this than I was expecting.

I think I found the secret (is it spelling the 6 letter room and them wondering if they had one?) and if that was it that might have been a little underwhelming, especially after so many attempts. I do think the concept of the demon hand is really cool, but after the initial couple run ins it was really annoying since it's essentially an instant game over require you to start from the very beginning.

Otherwise though for a jam game this is quite excellent! Great work on this!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback! We had so much more we wanted to do, including a skip button, but simply ran out of time. We are planning to get these things fixed and make the demon hand a bit easier haha.

This is such a cool game! I think y'all did a great job with the art and sound design and the controls with the Ouija board are so cool! I wish the demon hand wasn't so hard because even though I tried like 7 times I couldn't get far in the game because I kept losing the planchette and couldn't get it back. :^( I think this could definitely be made into a full game post-jam, and would love to see some updates so I can see the end!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! We will fix the difficulty of the demon hand as soon as we can.

Definitely an interesting idea that uses fourth wall and the videogame medium (no pun intended…maybe? ;) ) at his finest. I liked a lot, the hand was unexpected and I liked trolling the “cast” and having a bit of control of them. Really well done.

Developer

Thank you so much!

This game was spooky haha. This is thanks to both the great art and music. I like that the controls were very intuitive. I just wish that you did not have to start from the beginning after one playthrough. Anyway, I like that a hand comes that forces a choice and the story is very interesting. This was an enjoyable game. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Spooky (not) art! Nice idea though! Loved the game! Check out ours too!

Developer

Thanks for playing!!!

Interesting idea. Demon hand is scary. It made me lose, I'm not sure how hard it actually is but I kind of am just not invested enough in the characters to find their dad's will y'know. They're not even paying me

Developer(+1)

Haha! Well, thanks for taking the time to play anyway! ^^

Such a unique idea and I loved the spooky atmosphere! The art is beautiful! This is such a small nitpick because I thought the game was really neat overall but I think just changing the font in the character dialogue boxes would be such a small change that would go a long way! Right now it looks very default but with a more fitting font like a serif and changing the blue color of the character's name to something warmer to fit in with the color palette of the rest of the game I think the visuals would be just that more cohesive!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! I agree. We had a lot we wanted to do with the dialogue boxes, but we just ran out of time haha. I really wish we had 72 hours instead of only 48.

Wow, what an atmosphere! I'm terrified of that grubby little demon hand and the noises it makes, the visuals are amazing, sfx hit the mark, and the input ouija board is very unique. Our game was actually quite similar, playing as a dead person and manipulating objects, but instead we made the tone a lot lighter. This game's tone was a great contrast! Couldn't solve the mystery, even with the hint you gave in the comments though! I have no clue where the will is... :(

This was a really great game, looking forward to a post-jam version if you're doing one!

Developer

Aw! But that grubby little demon hand loves you! ^^ haha! I’ll have to check out your game! I love seeing other peoples’ ghost/spooky related interpretations of this year’s theme. It’s okay that you didn’t find the will! A lot of people have been stumped by the clue. I wish itch.io had a why to put a spoiler bar in the comments. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to play through it!!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I think there is a way to do spoliers! If you go to the description of your game, click the angle brackets for HTML in the formatting bars, and add

<details>

<summary>SPOILERS:</summary>

this is where spoilers go

</details>

to wherever you want the spoiler and then click the angle brackets again, it'll add a little dropdown menu that needs to be clicked before people see the "this is where spoilers go" part!

Developer

OOOOH THANKS! I'll have to try that out in a moment!

Developer

I added the spoiler tags! Thanks for letting us know about this. I didn't even know there was an HTML mode for the game description haha. Thanks for playing!

Submitted (2 edits)

Yeah np!! Finally got through the end w the second spoiler, so thank you for making this game! (I actually originally saw it on another game, cant take the credit for it!)

I have been immersed in this game for the last hour... I didn't even win haha!

I am quite bad at playing but it was a TON of fun! Great game, amazing art, fitting sounds and story!

5 out of 5 everything! Added to my collection. Hope to see more games like this!

Developer(+1)

THANK YOU ^^^^ Maybe its best you didn't win? They probably don't need to find that will after all....

(but there's a clue a few comments down if you're interested, haha)

Thank you so much for taking the time to play through!!!

An interesting take on a very simple idea. I liked how replayable it was. The gameplay was extremely basic, but it worked.

Developer

Thanks so much for taking the time to play!!

This has absolutely N O right to be so G O O D.... damn. Really ipressive!

Developer

THANK YOU SO MUCH ._.;;;;

love the concept and the atmosphere! it could be a goldmine for stories :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!!! ^^;

Hey, this game is great! I love typing games and this one tackles the mechanics in a very original way. Congratulations! Also, very risky to put story and characters (very well designed by the way!) and it worked great.

Very very cool!!! Good in all sections

Developer

We maybe overthought the overarching characters and plot a little bit BUT it worked out! Haha. Thank you so much for taking the time to play!!

Submitted(+2)

wow, i'm so impressed by what you've done!

the art is fantastic and the story is engaging: it defenitely keeps the tension ^^

i couldn't figure out the room at first as the hint is very subtle, as you have already said (dead end helped but i would never got it without knowing where to look) it also  feels that there is a bit too much punishment for using the mechanics that actually let you play through the game. i wish i could begin from the point where i stopped and not start from the very beginning :)

and the hand was so scary when it first appeared, i jumped a little haha

one of the most unique entries, i had lots of fun playing  and would love to know how the story goes on :D

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you finally got it!! Thanks so much for taking the time to play! We will 100% be implementing a save feature and/or some sort of dialogue skip when we make it a full game. ^^;;;

Submitted(+3)

Love the idea and execution! The fact that you managed to get some narrative in there is also very impressive for a jam! It would be interesting to see where you would expand it if you worked on it more (branching narrative maybe?) Also nice to see another super natural entry!

Developer(+1)

If I can make something spooky, I will. Haha! We absolutely have way more branching paths in mind for after the jam. I'm glad you had a good experience. Thanks for playing ^^!!
