Awesome game. I liked the parallax backgrounds and the pixel art. Music and sounds also went well with the visuals. Platforming mechanics felt good to play as well. Bice work!

Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!

Cool game, I think it would benefit if the game had an easier tutorial and if the traps were not randomized and more predictable when being placed.

The art is great and I love the interpretation of the theme, but the overall loop is too quick so its hard to really understand what was happening.  In the second phase, I'd lose before I was able to read the tooltips and really know what was happening.  If you could slow it down and polish that loop this could be really cool.  Overall it was a solid entry though, good job

Top-tier pixel art, maybe the best-looking game I've seen so far. One thing is that it's sometimes hard to distinguish if something is an obstacle inside the level or just a background element. Also, it's easy to fail in the second phase, and I feel like it's unnecessary to restart the whole level after that

Visually this game is great, beautiful art! conceptually it’s a very clever take on the “you are the level designer” style gameplay, you tied it very nicely into a narrative element of good and evil!

I am terrible at this game though haha, It’s quite tricky to carefully plan out both dying and not dying simultaneously but that makes the gameplay super engaging.

I think at least initially giving the player more time to make their “decisions” would help ease the early difficulty scaling a bit!

Pretty fun game!

So first off, you nailed the presentation, the backgrounds in particular. I love the whole jungle vibe you've got going on.

From a gameplay perspective, I think there's a fun and addicting loop in here, but right now the game's way too punishing. You mess up once it's back to the beginning again. And on and on like that. The fact that the traps are randomized doesn't even allow me to think about strategy, but you do have to think about strategy if you want to keep progressing.

So the bones of the game are great and the platforming really feels right, but I think something needs to be done about the progression.

Cool artwork, but it also made it hard to distinct what was in the background and what I could land on. The water reflections are a nice touch though! The mechanics are challenging but interesting, and I wonder how you could implement more maps into the game for some base level variety. You could expand and polish this game in a lot of cool ways; I hope to see more in the future!

Developer

Thanks ! I don't know if you manage to go at the level 2 but there's one (it's hard to go to it : 65 points) but i know that the base level variety is the biggest problem of the game and i'll try to change this in the future.

Really cool art, decent music, and fun gameplay. I thought the use of the theme for this jam was pretty unique as well. I feel that this game definitely has potential to grow to something special.

This was a really cool concept that fits the theme better than most of the submissions I've seen. The music was a bit repetitive, but the art style and parallax effect more than made up for it. I struggled to understand the game loop at first too. Like, I got that I was going to do a run, then kill myself, then try the run again, etc., I just didn't understand the whole flag system that it used. What might've helped would be slowing down the run speed in the tutorial until I could come to grasps with what was going on. Still a very solid submission despite my initial confusion.

I really like this concept. Having to beat the level a different way each time while keeping your future runs in mind is really cool. I also love the art, it looks awesome (especially with the parallax effect). The gameplay itself is really good when you're running, but trying to place traps while the camera is moving can be very frustrating. I think it might be better if you could zoom out, freeze time and maybe even see the player's future path. That way it would be a bit more focused on strategy. But I understand it's hard to implement all that in only 48 hours. Overall, good job!

Cool concept, I agree with most of what the 3 under me said, I think that especially the first two rounds get repetitive after a while and also I found the tutorial and first level also a bit had thrown the stuff way too fast to me, so i could barely register what was happening and making me fail the first rounds at the first and second try since i was still trying to figure out the game, but all in all this was an amazing game, it had quite good graphics and was also one of the most fun games I've played so far, the other things are just small nit picks and might not apply to everyone, good job!

The game is very fun and has a very original idea, unfortunately the graphics bothered me and the music is too repetitive. But it's a good game, it applies the theme of the game jam well. Good job!

loved this idea but having to restart every time you die can be a little frustrating, perhaps adding a lives system of some kind would get this game to perfect instead of merely amazing

Developer

Yeah, i know, we'll correct that in the future, glad you liked it !

Very interesting concept!   Tutorial & controls are just a bit confusing, but i figured it out.
Visuals are great,  platforming is satisfying - though, i feel like levels start a bit too slow, and something like "retry round" would be nice.
Cool!

I enjoyed playing it! At first I found it a bit confusing on what to do but I managed to figure it out. The thing I would change is the design of the UI since it doesn’t fit well with the rest of the game but all in all, Well Done!

Wow, I really like the concept!

You have to play both sides here, and remember not to screw yourself over too much since you'll have to do the opposite on the next run.

I feel like a slow-mo when placing the traps would be better since the scrolling is really fast, or maybe at least being told what trap you'll be able to place before the "evil" run begins, but apart from that loved the gameplay!

Visually, it has its style, I dig the forgotten forest vibe!

Super travail, j'ai beaucoup aimé ! =D

The concept here is really creative, and I liked the two “Cosmic God” characters a lot. I wish you didn’t have to place the traps on the fly - I’d like to be able to put more thought into them and place them before the next run. Overall, impressive work!

This is absolutely my favourite entry I've played so far, novel concept and fantastic execution. I forgot I was playing a game that was only made in 2 days; really great work!!

Very cool concept and art! Had quite an enjoyment

Can’t believe you made all that cool art in 2 days, good job! I enjoyed the game loop even though sometimes I’ve found it a bit too punishing, but it’s just me! Sometimes it’s a bit laggy (maybe because of my PC) but it’s very funny to play!
