Very clever game! I have some trouble to indicate some action to the game but most of them are easy to find. It's really fun as concept and work brilliantly !

This is a ridiculously clever idea hidden by unexsisting difficulty ramp and hard-to-distingiush-sprites. Make pixels twice as small for detalization, do a series of levels with slowly adding new cheats, spicing with different cheat executions and turn speed, maybe adding two tables at once at the end of the game - and this would be a very unique and super pleasing experience!

And yeah, even not regarding anything I said, this is an outstanding game to make in 2 days, very good job!

Really smart idea, and the difficulty is just right.

Great job!

Fabulous Game! It has a creative, clever and engaging concept that forces you to concentrate on each turn so you don't miss any player trying to cheat. I love this idea and I would love to see it being expanded perhaps by adding different difficulties or even watching over multiple games at once. Great Job!

This a creative idea that piqued my interest since I am a big enjoyer of chess. I liked the concept of needing to spot cheating by player, and how sometimes the players will try to hide their cheating to make it more challenging to spot. However, the 8 bit style make it difficult to tell the difference between pieces. Also, sometimes it felt like they were playing a little too fast so you didn't have time to spot everything in time. You can restart the game which will have the exact same moves occur again, which does make it easier to spot every cheating attempt, however I'm not sure how good it is since there is no reason to play again once you found every mistake. Another thing is that finding these cheating attempts doesn't change anything on the board, I would expect it at least make the player that cheated go back or even disqualify someone after they attempted to cheat multiple times, but nothing changes when catch them cheating, which makes it feel a little pointless. Still, as a chess player I enjoyed this concept even if there was a few things I'd change.

This is such a clever idea! But… even as someone who occasionally plays chess, the moves happened wayyyyy too quickly for me. I feel like it would’ve been a lot more fun to have different levels and ramp up the difficult over time. Maybe make the speed a lot slower in the beginning, start off with fewer types of illegal moves.

I wish I knew chess better for this XD awesome idea

I really like the concept and realization. I feel like my eye cannot catch all mistakes because the moves are made so fast. I understand that chess is played at the fast speed sometime and thats why I love this game! Good job!

The idea for this one is awesome, however the speed that the game's played at, the art style and the fact that the players hands cover the pieces makes it quite hard to follow and spot the rule breaking.

Bravo on this idea. Super clever, unique and clear use of the jams theme. I enjoyed it but admittedly was very bad at it! I agree that the low-res pixel art makes it hard to tell what pieces are what especially when the game is going at such a fast pace. I think any other critiques I have were already addressed below, such as the fast pace and the view being covered too much by the hands/arms. A difficulty setting would be great but you imaged to accomplish a lot within the 48hr limit. Again kudos. With additional polishing this game could be really special. Keep it up!

I am very bad at it, but it's a great idea. A larger view, and pauses after each move would make it more accessible.

very cool, a little too fast for me :P an option to change the difficulty would be nice, but regardless pretty fun :)

As a chess enjoyer, love the idea! I think you're right about what you said in the jam notes though, that the 8-bit style makes it difficult to read.

Also I found myself spamming pause to process what just happened: Maybe it would be better if after each person plays their moves/illegal moves you had to pick which illegal move they did OR state that there were no illegal moves. Then maybe add a timer. (I might be armchair developing too much lol).

Still a great idea and I enjoyed it!

Very very cool submission, I am not very good at chess but still managed to catch some of the stuff. The description on the page was very useful, maybe there should be some text in game pointing to it? Anyways, very nice job 👍

Really unique concept!! It's a super interesting mixture of Paper's Please and I'm On Observation Duty. As the others have said the perspective and graphics make it a little unclear to tell apart pieces, but other than that this could honestly be a simple and fun game. I love the hesitations and movement of the hands, very well made for a game jam entry. Nicely done!

Super interesting concept, and quite fun! Perhaps could be slowed down slightly, some were hard to catch (i.e if a piece was removed, keeping track of which one to click) but otherwise v good for 48hrs

Interesting idea, game was little too fast for me tho.

Really nice idea! It was a bit hard to differentiate the pieces, but it was a lot of fun to catch the cheats.

Quite fun, I would slow it down by quite a lot, but I am not a good chess player, so maybe Im biased.
