How does your game fit the theme?
The game is "Never Ending", and the more you progress the longer it becomes! Bringing up a Gachapon capsule to the Gacha God, lets you start all the way from the beginning with a fresh new Gachapon capsule!
There is no "loss" condition either, and if you roll or fall behind, Just Roll With It!

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Almost everything is made by us, except for some borrowed code from Unity's tutorial on procedural walking.

Super cute! The art is lovely and I loved booping the little crabs out of the way. I also loved the way you close the game instead of just clicking a button. I did have an issue where the map on the side freaked out a little after the first reset but overall, I loved it.

I like the characters and the world that you and your team created, overall was fun and casual to play and visually appealing. I do see the potential of being expanded for a longer playtime. Congrats !🎉🎉

Game jams is a place where you can learn something new, you can push yourself, try out new ideas, or just have fun doing something you would not have done otherwise. In this game I see nearly none of this. Does this make it a bad game? No, but I see a lost opportunity to make something really new and interesting.

You clearly have some knowledge and abilities to make games to a near professional level. So the game looks great, the sound effects is good, the music works well, and overall is the game put very well together. Okay, there are some bugs that means that the game sometime act really weird when it restarts, and the music stops playing after a few restarts. But this is what happens when you make a game within a week, and none of it spoiled my enjoyment of the game. My issue with the game is not with what it is, but more about the game you could have made.

Basically is this just a ball rolling game, and not much else then that. Okay, you have to role the ball up a hill, you can role over some craps, and you get some kind of score when you reaches the top. But I don's see much reason to do any of this, and there is not really anything avoiding me from doing it with ease. You could have added more mechanics to the game and you could possibly have made it more fun to play, but would it change it from a basic ball rolling game? I am not really sure it would.

So is it not okay to make a ball rolling game? Yes, it is okay, and have you been a single developer with not much experience making games, I would have been really happy with this game idea. But you are a pretty big team with I believe 6 developers, and then I am not that impressed. I mean can a big team like yours not find a better and much more fun idea. I know that Fall Guys is popular, and it's perhaps a game you really like, but is what make that game great not the social experience more then the gameplay? I think it is, and sadly this game do not have the social experience.

But okay, you have chosen to make this game, so lets talk a bit more about it. And lets start with the best idea in the game, and it's that you can role the ball over to the side and turn the music/sound effect volume up and down. This idea is simple and super fun. Then you have put a cute blue guy behind the ball, which gives the game some cuteness and charm. In general is the game very cartoonish and charming. I am not sure I really got the point with the different stuff in the balls, but it looked pretty fun. Overall is the music, sound effects, visuals and animations put together in a way that works very well together. None of it is bad, and it fits to the game idea. Even the small pieces of dialog coming from the robot when going down the escalator is pretty funny.

So overall is this a pretty well made game, and when I see what you are doing here, you are clearly really talented. But with talent do there also come the possibility for making something that is really amazing, and here I don't think you have pushed yourself very much. I think a game jam like this one, could have been a great place to push your creativity a bit more, and perhaps you would have made a game that have failed, but at least you could have learned something, and you could perhaps even have made something that would have been really amazing.

I hope this feedback was not too rough, and I really hope the best for all of you in the future.

Dude this game is so cute. Enjoyed it so much. Haven't seen a game like this. This was just so much fun. Good Job man y'all. Really good game.

I like the  title which is just what the game is about. Music fits game play and game theme.
One issue I have with the game is that once I hit an obstacle losing all my momentum, it is very very hard for me to keep moving up again, and it is not very enjoyable after that. It's like I have to get a prefect run in order to enjoy the game.

Thank you so much for taking your time to give such a nice detailed feedback, it really means a lot! We did actually talk about having things drop down on you as you roll up, so it's nice to see that you pointed that out as a potential future feature of the game. I agree with the escalator part too, it lacks something, but we want to work more on that as well! I also agree with more content!! Thanks again for wonderful feedback and lovely words!

When it works, I would put it the top 10 maybe top 5, but you seem to have 1/2 PERFECTLY polished and the other 1/2 is lacking. The ending on the escalator is bit of a letdown, compared to the rest and sometimes I respawned without the figurine, just ball, and the map started glitching. But still, overall, very vell gone!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for good feedback! We would've loved to put a little more work on the escalator sequence and more testing on respawning so we have not caught the bugs you're describing but i'm noting them down! Thank you so much for playing :D

I like the physics concept, and the art style is super cool. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so so much!

Thats a nice game mechanic and like the art style its amazing

Developer

Thanks so much!

Really like the game! The physics were really convincing the mass of the ball that I was pushing

Developer

Thanks so much! We really wanted it to feel heavy but not TOO frustrating :D

The artstyle looks great!

Developer

Thank you :D

This was cute and really fun!  The music stopped after my third cycle though.  Nailing the physics of something like this is hard (same with my submission), but I think you did a great job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Yes, the music stopping is a well known bug im afraid haha! Will be fixed at some point

cool game, loved the options at the beginning. I think it would be more fun if the player had more force and speed. nice work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah we kind of wanted the player to suffer a bit, so it's super punishing to stop in the middle of the hill, but that is definitely something we can think about if we expand the game, which very much might happen!

Although kinda short the art style and the overall vibe of it is out of this world. Feels like a nintendo game

Developer

I was really leaning into a nintendo vibe with this, so I'm really glad that came through, thank you so much!

Although you did not make the procedural walking I was impressed regardless of the procedural legs and arms, as I know those systems are rather tedious to make even with pre-existing code.

Developer

Thank you so much! It's actually not that difficult using Unity's animation rigging package. Still a little weird to wrap your head around but there are many great tutorials out there :D

Cool game after I learned what I was doing. I like the game though.

Developer

Thank you! The most important part is to keep rolling, and don't stop!

Cute game, looks very colourful. Were some bugs with lagging sound and UI sometimes was glitching, but still cute.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Sorry if you experienced some issues, but happy you still thought it was cute :D

Really love the way the game looks! Really cute arcade feel to it, and the music is really fitting. Also really admire the way you handle the options physically in the world. Animations and scene transitions were really smooth. Amazing job all around!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah we were really inspired by capsule toy machines for this one, we wanted a playful fun vibe. Oh yeah that's one of my fave features too, especially the volume sliders, first time we tried anything like that!
