How does your game fit the theme?
The player has to escape an island and in his/her journey he will find many dead ENDS and he will have to BEGIN again with new abilities allowing him/her to pass the dead ENDS.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code was made from the scratch and most environments. Only some assets were ready.

really beautiful looking game. unfortunately i get really bad motion sickness, so the camera blur and the intense mouse sensitivity meant that I couldn't play it for more than a few minutes. if you add some settings that change those things i'd really love to give it another try. very relaxing setting and atmosphere.
Yea you are right some motion blur and sensitivity settings should be there. Just didn't occur to me sadly. Thanks for the feedback!
Cool idea, the motion blur was just really distracting and hard to play with.
Yea unreal's motion blur is sometimes too much. I think I toned it down a bit but maybe I should have a setting. Thx for the feedback!
I really like the looks and feel of the game, but I think that it is quite annoying to play and go through the entire thing, especially when the platforming isn't super exciting. Otherwise, it's very cool
Yea I get your point. I tried making the player more fast each phase but I can see why the repetition can be annoying. Thanks for the feedback!
Unique take on the theme! Ive seen a similar idea where you get a new ability each time you restart/die :)
One thing i would add is more detail to the island, like grass and palm trees (i would use Sea of Thieves as reference), since right now its pretty bland with just sand and wood. but you probably didnt have much time to do so.
Besides that, i really enjoyed this. Good job!
Thanks for playing appreciate the feedback! I tried adding some trees or something like that but could not find any that matched the style I was going for so I just didn't use them at all sadly.
Very atmospheric :)
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
Unfortunately, I can't download the game on my computer, do you think this game would run in the browser or is it too large? Anyway, I had a look at the video on the main page and the screenshots and it looks very impressive, especially the water! How did you get that effect? I also like the general relaxing look and sounds. Hopefully, I'll get to try it online after the jam.
Can you describe the problem you are having when downloading the game? The game was made in Unreal Engine and I have not found a way to run it in the browser. The water was from a plugin in engine. I just tweaked some settings. Thanks for the feedback!
thanks for replying. It’s not a technical issue, I just haven’t got windows, and it looks like the game is in that format.
Oh ok then. Did not think to include any other platform. Will keep in mind for the future. Thanks again!
The movement and controls for the game were very smooth. I enjoyed them.
I really also liked the idea of the slowly approaching boat. It was another way of showing a time-limit to the player without it being another UI element. It was a shame that the only time you could see the boat approaching was when you were at the beginning of the game and at the top of the hill. Perhaps having other, smaller vantage points would provide the player with more ways of showing their time limit without having to resort to a number on the player's screen. Regardless, it was still an enjoyable little game.
Thanks for playing! You are right the approaching boat mechanic could use some more work.
I had a lot of fun playing this game!
Great to hear!
Nice cover art if u make the graphics have the same art-style i will 100% buy it
The cover was made using AI :)
Nice
Thank you!
Nice little 3D platformer! The controls were very nice and some of the sections were quite challenging! The visuals were great and the game was simple and fun!
I appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing!
It's a really fun game! I quickly got the hang of it, the platforming is quite nice and I enjoyed unlocking functionality over time. But I would've liked some sort of visual representation in UI on how close to the island the mysterious boat. Because I think the intention is to instill some sort of time pressure in the players? But without knowing how fast the boat actually travels there really isn't much to go on.
Had a great time with it!
Thanks! You are right, the approaching boat was to make the player make want to escape the island. The boat moves closer each phase but I should have made it more clear. Thanks for playing!
Very pretty game, I enjoyed the sounds and the incremental unlock of functionality. I found the placement of the wooden steps up the hill became too high for me to continue and I got stuck and frustrated.
Yea I agree some of the jump were hard. Thanks for playing
I think the thumbnail is really great. I unfortunately had in the game rather poor FPS (~30) with full utilization of a GTX 1070. It may be that it was due to my PC. I would also like a little more UI or user feedback, for example, how long do I have until the unknown ship arrives. Overall well-made. Keep going.
You got a point. I should have make the approaching boat more clear to the player. Thanks for playing!
Looking and sounds really good. The gameplay idea is simple and pretty fun. I find it a bit too punishing, but okay I could just be better at platformers. Overall a well made little jam game. Well done.
Many people have pointed that it was kinda hard punishing. I am going to keep in this mind for any future games. Thank for playing!
A punishing platformer with nice visuals!
Thanks, maybe I should have made it kinda easier
I really loved the graphics and the waves crashing. The jumps were sometimes a little unforgiving but thats alright. if you could rate my game that would be great! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-9/rate/1933222
Yea some jumps are kinda difficult and you have to time it very carefully. Thanks for you feedback I will check you game!
The last mountain jump&run and the resetting mechanic is very annoying, otherwise graphics are nice and the jump&run was very fun.
To tackle it being annoying I tried to increase the players speed each phase but I get your point. Thanks for playing!
The graphics are incredible! :D
Thank you!
I really enjoyed beating this game! I really like the environment and lighting changes. Great implementation of the theme as well. Great job!
Appreciate it!
