A nice little arcade game! If you don't reset the music track between rounds it helps to keep players minds in the game
Simple, addictive, effective... Nice game! But pls make a option to lower the audio.
Hah- simple but well presented; having the dice bounce around also led to some really satisfying (accidental :P) trick-shots into cards!
The bouncing of the die is just so fun to watch... The idea was nice and was fun too, GoodJob!
It may be simple but it's engaging and executed well enough to play for a while. I like that you can actually make the golden die roll into enemies to kill them.
I thought the aspect of hitting a dice to make another one move, the golden one as well, pretty fun and I could see it develop into an interesting mechanic, almost like a play of pools where you would hit a dice into another for maximum killing efficency. Those ennemies at the start spawn a bit too fast and close to the golden dice, and maybe an indicator to see when we could send our next dice would be nice for future builds (like a small animation of the end loading up, or a simple bar charging, anything)!
Cool idea but the grain was kinda unnecessary :P. Fun and enjoyable!
Psst! Check out my game too: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1613573
This is surprisingly addictive. Knocking the king dice is satisfying but I agree with the others in the sense that making it invincible during that makes the game too easy and repetitive after a while. I’m not sure I’m fan of the noisy video effect but the mood is fine overall.
Nice way to use the theme! Bouncing stuff around felt satisfying. Could really work with a bit more depth!
Despite the fact that you had less than a day to complete this, you made something and it works! Good job! It is definitely not the greatest game ever made, but I enjoyed the 3 or so minutes I spent with it.
The was really strange at first and I just kept dying as I roll enough dice to kill all the cards, but after reading the description I understood that I could knock the king dice away, which made the game a lot better. With that being said, I think that the game is a bit unbalanced, as just shooting dice at the king dice will basically make you invincible, I think a compromise which might work better is still being able to knock the king dice away, but not giving it the ability to kill cards; this would force you to make trickshots to both kill cards and save the king at once, which might be a bit cooler [if this is too much, perhaps disabling normal dice collision would balance it out]. I like the ability to change sides as it makes it a lot easier to track down specific spots; perhaps a more intuitive design would be to have the play are be a circle and to move the dice cup around the ring based on mouse position.
The presentation is nice, but the song starting over and over was very grating, I don't think that torture should be a punishment for dying in a game ;w;. Just letting the song play even after you die might be a better idea in future. Otherwise the graphics are simple but cute, the pastel background is nice.
Overall just a fun few minutes :) Wish you guys luck and thanks for the game!
Fun little game, I quite like the score being displayed the way it was.
Feedback:
- For a game like this I recommend having a local high score. It gives it x1000 more replayability.
But good job, well done, and keep up the great work.
The arts is quite good, but the gameplay could use some improvement for sure. For such short timespan this is already pretty amazing. Nice work!
