Nice gritty concept! I could see this being expanded into a sort of twin stick shooter with upgrades and different types of enemies quite nicely! Nice job!
Really cool concept. I enjoyed to kill the time and wanted to kill it entirely but weird controls and random enemy spawn killed my joy instead. Also it would be nice to have some progression like attack speed upgrade, shootin type upgrades (like shoot in different directions) etc.
But anyway I enjoyed to play it, had ~15 attempts
Nice game! The intro really adds to the experience, and I liked how you had an objective at first (The 30 years).
My suggestions would be that the enemies sometimes spawned just where I was, causing an instadeath, it wasn’t that frequent, but you could make sure that that doesn’t happen. Also, I’ve found the movement a little bit too slippery, but that’s just me.
Overall, it’s a solid entry and a really fun one!
I must say that I am really impressed. The gameplay is catchy as well as sounds. The take on theme is also nice and love how you implemented in into the game. The "endless" mode is a nice touch as well that I did not expect, but when I saw the time I would need to kill... :D Really nice and solid entry
This is such a cool game, that intro dialogue was amazing, really sets the tone for the game. The gameplay is fun and i liked the effects a lot. Great game with a cool atmosphere
The story is awesome, the death screen with the green text is cool and the music slaps. Great work!
I like the music and look of this game, as it helps to convey the dark grim tone of the game. I also intrigued by the narrative, as the concept of a person with the power to kill time is very fascinating. However, I didn't get the impression that the game took place in one room, as it looked more like an open grid. I was also confused when I got out of jail, but was still looking at the jail wall. Perhaps it would have been better to end the game when you got out of jail, as that would have worked narratively while also tying better into the theme. Last, I think that it was a bit cumbersome to have to move and rotate with separate keys. It would have been a lot better if I could do both at the same time with the same keys. Overall, it was pretty good, just needs some fine tuning in a few places.
Narratively the idea was that the main character stays in the cell due to stubbornness, but I probably failed to communicate that. The idea of rotating with separate keys was definitely inspired by twin-stick shooters, though I noticed that mechanic didn't work as well for keyboards. Anyway, thanks a ton for playing.
You're welcome. I think if you placed the play area near the window of the cell, it might have conveyed that a bit better. As for the controls, I would try and get this game to work on controllers, I think it would play much better that way. As for the rotation, I would suggest making the player actually rotate in 360 degrees, rather than simply changing directions.
