The idea is beautiful! This is definitely one of the most original games on the jam. However there are too many ways to die, and there is not a single checkpoint (or if there is, it's too late into the game). So most of the time I keep playing the same parts over and over, make one step, die, and it's back to the beginning.

That's a notable issue with the game, yet despite that, I think this is definitely amongst the most solid entries in the jam!

Really cool game! Love the ideas and look of the game, you knocked it out of the park with fun/creativity! Great job you guys.

Really good and fun game. How did you manage to do 1st person 3d game in two days? That's insane!
Aesthetics reminds me of Stanley Parable, is there Narrator hiding in one of the cabinets?
Hugged all the chairs.

lol. I'm sure the narrator is watching your every move from the vents.  Me and fatherbeno recently finished another game jam where we had a much smaller scope (the player couldn't walk around but it was still first person) so we knew what was possible and we pushed it. I've personally found that starting simple then making a slightly more advanced or larger games each game jam is effective because you learn your limits and push them :)

Agreed. Starting simple and then pushing your limits is good strategy. For us it is first game jam, and this strategy only became obvious after we fall into lots of troubles at the start. Thanks for sharing your experience. It inspires a lot.

Amazing stuff from the team. The idea is clearly one of the smartest I played.

The humor is here and makes it fun to play, nice job.

little less fun overall awesome

I always hate it when I stub my toe against an alarm clock at 1 am and die of blunt force trauma, trying to cancel the contracts I made the day before

Definitely the most unique take on the theme I have seen in this jam! I really liked the visuals as well!

I would suggest adding strafing, there were many times when I would try moving left/right but it would instead rotate my camera. Overall a very interesting entry! I enjoyed tearing away those contracts

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Mouse movement should be the only thing effecting the camera and WASD is completely separate. I like your first line lol

I was using arrow keys so I didn't realise that

The left/right arrow key did still rotate the camera though

Developer

huh they do, never even thought to try the arrow keys, I believe that's a default unreal engine thing, good to know. I guess next time I better test all the buttons lol.

This is genuinly good. Its not perfect, but the comedy is gold here. Its almost magical.

Altough, the clocks are kinda bull. If they float near the ceiling, it makes them hard to see. Maybe this game would benefit for something like a toon shader, with the outline on each model.

Other than that, good job. This is on par with inch by inch, where its a game, wich is well defined and well executed.

5/5 from me.

PS. Please make another version, with a bit more sound. Perhaps take inspiration in something like The Stanley Parable.

Developer

Thanks! We are definitely planning to expand on the game and implement all the improvements everyone has been giving us, I was thinking an outline shader too and making the ceiling lighter.

Such a cool idea! Loved when the chairs became aggressive haha. Definitely one of my favorite games I've played so far!

You forgot that carpets don't count when the floor is lava.

Developer(+1)

Depends on if you play with street rules or not. ;)

Extremely cool game, actually surprised me with how much I liked it! I love parable-esque things and there were a lot of interesting implications and mechanics that came about from tearing up the contracts. Really well done!

good game bro :D!.

Awesome Stanley Parable like game, I was kind of aimless until I realised the whiteboards had more than just funny conspiracy theories about plants on them. Loved it!

I had a great time with this, it was really fun seeing how the negative consequences stacked up. The chairs running after me was terrifying, very glad they don't do damage though as I think that would have been too frustrating. The whiteboards serving as diagetic tutorials but also as environmental storytelling. Really had fun with this. It's a shame about the cabinet contract glitch but otherwise this game was fantastic. Well done

The graphics is absolutely stunning for stuffs within 48hrs, the interior lighting feels so good and "official".
The idea of contracts are really cool (and the way you introduced them) ! Maybe the things wrote in the contracts could be connected deeper instead of set a goal and some obstacles (its really hard ... !) without intuitive connections, but who knows! The randomness here does play a role to build the atmosphere I guess.

Like the kinda weird feeling and it reminds me about The Stanley Parable like many others have mentioned lol

Really feeling the art, and the binding to documents was great. Very impressive for 48 hours!

fantastic dude!

What a game! I'm super impressed with what you were able to do with it. The concept is fantastic, the visuals are well polished and likeable, the world is well developed (including the fun little whiteboard), and especially the gameplay dynamically changing up the environment was super interesting! Wonderful job!

I really loved playing this game start to finish! I started planning ahead bumping clocks and preopening drawer. Each contract was increasingly more interesting and I was always excited to open the next one. The visuals were great and would fit perfectly in a full release. All around I would just love to see this made into a full game!

My one complaint is that the clocks blended perfectly into the ceiling, so there were a few death where I genuinely just had no chance.

Fantastic game you two!

Developer(+1)

Yeah we had problems with the ceiling lighting always wanted to be black because it wasn't getting any light on it. Will definitely be fixed in later releases. Thanks for playing!
