You join monsters together to create "synergy", a force that is very satisfying for other monsters that make them do stuff. It's a puzzle game, ok?

Animations & sounds pulled me in right away. I liked that you did together/not together and things other than doors.

Developer

Yep, I’m a programmer by trade and couldn’t resist adding NOT gates to the game.

Really great work -- a clever interpretation of the theme! Love the animations, they really make the gameplay more engaging. Big fan of the emergent music as well. Overall a very neat, polished game. Definitely one of the best I've played so far!

Developer

Thank you! Some people said it’s clever, I think it’s the most literal way I could’ve interpreted “Joined Together.”

Submitted(+1)

Highly impressive game! very polished! Looks good, cool music and sound, reactive to the gameplay. puzzles were clever and nice... until they were too hard for me. Oh well! Can't say I didn't see the charm and potential, amazing all around. Well done with the theme and just overall execution.

Developer

Thanks for your time!

I tried to mix in some introductory levels with some hard ones to sell the potential of the game, as a prototype.

in the end, I just wished I had made a softer learning curve.

with the proper levels in-between, those levels are actually super easy to solve. just by learning about air-locks and pushing blocks when they are connected to each other, you can solve those in, like, 30 seconds.

not being able to put levels in between rn is getting on my nerves.

Love the dynamic music! Super cool <3 All in all great job, solid little puzzle game.

Developer(+1)

smol puzzles are the best

really cute/polished visuals, and the puzzle mechanic felt novel which is great since a lot of gamejam puzzles tend to be pretty samey. great job ~

Developer(+1)

Thanks– wait I remember your game! I was there just ago. Anyways, Thanks! I focused on polishing and doing something interesting.

I’m glad that it felt novel, because this was such a literal interpretation of the theme, it wasn’t as clever as yours, for sure.

Well polished game! The puzzle was well thought out, had me struggling and asking for pro tips from the dev himself (yeah I'm a noob, lol). I like how the music changes when we connected the monsters, what a nice touch! The art style and music matched perfectly. The only thing that missing was the lack of tutorial/information on how the game should be played, I was quite confused at the start and for suggestion, it would be great to have a hint for a noob like me. Overall, it's a polished game, well done!

Developer

Thanks, lol.

Kicking sound track, with joyful animations and some ace puzzle design :)

Developer

Haha that’s a good surprise, because i’m so much not a composer, the animations took 5 minutes, and I literally just mashed a bunch of blocks together to make the puzzles.

I loved this game. this game together with factori are my favourite games in the jam thus far

Developer

Okay, this comparison has me flattered.

The idea is great, but the execution is splendid. Puzzles were fun, albeit a bit hard, and the presentation was awesome. The adaptive soundtrack, the sound effects, the animations, the way the game teaches itself, it was shockingly well presented! Brilliant work!

Developer

Thanks, As i said a thousand other times in this comment section (and still stand for) i wish i could have a better learning curve.

seeing the big spike there is from level 7 to 8 is eating me inside.

Simple art with a lot of working systems. Level design is well thought out as well. I like how the instruments in the music change as you pair the monsters together. Great work!

I had a problem where I would get stuck on those gates. They would overlap with the monsters or me and I would be forced to restart the level.

Developer

I noticed this while developing :( If i were to complete this game i’d fix this bug, but because of the time i had to just work the levels around it and make it into a feature.

Hope it wasn’t too annoying!

This game looks, sounds and plays amazing! It is clear there is a lot of care in every detail, even the helpful hints!! Great work!!

Developer

Hehehehe thanks! I’m still chuckling when I think of that purple blob pulling the green mosnter on that one room.

Lovely art and a darn fun game.  Really liked the distinct characters you created.

Developer

Yeah, they were the first thing I made. Funny thing is that the fact that they look different does nothing at all here hahaha

Submitted(+1)

Very nice and great puzzle game! Reminds me a bit of Baba is You where you have certain rules on how the game behaves, really nice approach on that take, good job!

Developer

Baba is You, yes. My first idea involved each monster having something unique about them other than their colours.

Love how the music changes as you move the puzzle blocks around, the early levels onboard you really well (I was pondering how I was going to line up the blocks when the clue comes in from off screen about how to pull, absolutely perfect.)  I would totally play more of this.

Developer (2 edits)

Thanks! I just had a dream where this game came out for the Nintendo Switch lol.

I noticed how you said early levels. Yeah. I wish I could’ve made a better difficulty curve after all.

There's some very clever puzzles in here, although I'm not a massive fan of the rot13: ernygvzr chmmyrf since it's not entirely clear what's intentional and what isn't.

Developer

What are we talking about here with «rot13: ernygvzr chmmyrf»?

Anyways, I wish I could have playtested much more, but eh, no time.

Submitted

The fact that I solved at least a few of the puzzles by <jnyxvat guebhtu n tngr orsber vg pybfrq - jrer ABAR bs gubfr vagragvbany?>

Developer

I’m sorry, but I can not understand this language.

Submitted

oh sorry, I just realized that you meant you didn't understand what I meant by rot13 - it's just a way of encoding what I'm saying since I don't want someone to see this and spoil themselves by accident.  There's a site https://rot13.com/ that will easily decode it.

Developer

Oh, I see. It did look like a Ceasar Cypher.

Developer

No, that was not on purpose, and I just found out you could do this way afterwards lol. none of the other players did that.

I figured that the pistons being slow would cause something, but I liked the animation so much.

V qba’g yvxr gur vqrn bs gubfr chmmyrf erylvat ba snfg ersyrkrf, bayl ba lbhe ybtvp/fcngvny fxvyy.

And the way to fix it is also simple, I can just make the collision update automatically, without the animation. Then make the animation a bit faster.

Now it’s TOO LATE!

The attention to detail is great here! the characters are so charming in addition the groovy music
Interesting and funny puzzles as well, great job!

Developer

Thank you! I imagine that if I had more time to make puzzles I’d have much more puzzle comedy, hahahaha.

Submitted(+1)

The gates influencing the dynamic music is such an awesome touch.  The puzzles are great and the visual touched for each of the colors when they touch are wonderful.  Great job.  There is so much charm here.

Developer(+1)

First one who called the blobs “gates.”

Thanks for the comment!

I really love the art and music here. The way the music channels turn on and off based on the matches is really cool, very stylish. It's a great sokoban take on the joined together theme. Well done!

Developer

Thanks! That detail was what took the most time.

I’ve never heard of Sokoban, I’m gonna search.

Submitted(+1)

Nice puzzle mechanics! We love how the music is linked with the characters! Also nice squishiness and animations on the characters! Well done!

Developer

We?

The use of the plural first person pronoun make me wonder how that game could work in multiplayer.

Im glad you had fun.
