Very cool game, thats awesome that you recorded voice acting and the quality of it sounds great. I played it tonight on my live stream and you can check out the replay if you would like below
Wow, I thought the polish was unreal (turns out to be unity!). Great job on the game, movement feels good, interacting with chest is good, and the whole narration feels like I'm in an actual escape room haha. The arts and sound effect also fits really well with the game that the lack of a background song doesn't even register to me. The gameplay is currently still too straightforward but you got the base of a very promising escape-room/puzzle type game here! Great job!
I would really have appreciated a Linux version since the performance on the Windows Laptoy (pun intended) was very bad most of the time...
But that's more an issue about the machine not being good for it. (Not that there would be anything wrong with it. It works just fine, but what performance would you expect from a €170 laptop?)
If I made the exit, does that mean I found all coins?
Opening the project from the source archive gave me one error message:
Error while saving Prefab: 'Assets/AssetPackages/LeanTween/Examples/Prefabs/EndlessPiece.prefab'. You are trying to save a Prefab with a missing script. This is not allowed.
Please change the script or remove it from the GameObject 'EndlessPiece'.
Since this refers to a sample prefab from the asset I suppose if that isn't actually used anywhere in the game, this will have no real consequences...
Also I got a bunch of warnings, for example
Identifier uniqueness violation: 'Name:spiderweb, Type:Mesh'. Multiple Objects with the same name/type are generated by this Importer. There is no guarantee that subsequent imports of this asset will properly re-link to these targets.
And some component(s) got removed from "Main Camera"...Super polished in terms of graphics and sound. Very nice atmosphere. The challenge for the player needs to be tweaked. When opening the boxes, I always jumped back because I was afraid that something would jump out on me. Maybe this game could be full of traps and a bit of mocking the player? (Portal in medieval times? Why not). There is potential!
Really, really good! Short, relativly simple, funny but fun!
I agree with comments below regarding the how obvious the glow was and the traps were a little bit too easy. However this was great, it played well, moved well... loved the voice over, really funny!
Great work!
I liked this one. It was a nice small game, great for a jam. I'd tone down the glistening chests a bit so they weren't so obvious. Could have the traps a bit tougher or at more areas. Nice work!
Simple short little game. The graphics looks really good. And man you really take then theme of the jam literally.
Good job.
Fun, I also liked the voice over haha. So, the 'not all chest are good god' type of thing got a bit predictable at some point, so at some point I started avoiding the chests that sparkled. You had the right idea in general I think, but maybe could have executed it a little bit better (i.e. keep us guessing more about whether the gold we are trying to get is worth it). Also one could just avoid getting any gold at all, so somehow there has to be a balance, a risk-reward type of decision-making going on.
I didn't get the first locked door puzzle?!! I was sad, because I love puzzle games. There were no clues as to how to solve it. What'd I miss? If it was just a random combination, then not really a puzzle...
Thank you for your feedback. I fully agree. It was way to predictable! I wanted to make it so it randomised to sometimes getting gold but the idea of not being able to work out the system didn't sit right with me.
I think I made the puzzle too hard! Sorry!
The clues were the torches in the room. There were 4 runes, 4 torches. if a torch was on, the rune was on. so it was ON, Off, Off, On :)
Oh, nooooooo! FFS! I love these types of puzzles, that was awesome! I now feel dumb for not getting it. I should have perhaps paid attention, but as you can imagine, when we are playing a game with the gold thme, and we are looking out for chest with gold that won't kill us, it was easy to miss the torch clue ;) But probably I'm just the one idiot that missed this haha. Advice: in situations like this maybe give the player (or rather force them) an excuse/reason or incentive to pay attention to one of these torches at least once, so that they get a bit suspicious. Or maybe make a very short version of a puzzle obvious and easy to teach us (but that would also spoil the mystery and surprise in the real one). Anyway, no criticism there because we only had 2 weeks so I get it if things like that could not be perfect. ;)
Great Game and I loved the voiceover, I spend a very fun time playing it and listen to the voice haha!!
One thing I noticed, in the first riddle about the 3 coloured thrones, I tried in the second run to chose, before let finished the narrator, the correct chest. So the narrator and the voice after clipped one each other.
It is a little thing but I wanted to report it to you :).
Anyway, really nice work!!
Great concept! I really enjoyed the commentary and the way you moved the scenery around. This was executed very well.
Nice! The game was beautiful, the voice acting is also very good! The game only needed a few more puzzles, the entire game only had two, and I didn't quite understand the logic of the final puzzle.
Nice entry! This looks super polished and plays pretty well. I got a little lost with all the tight corridors. Perhaps spreading out the corridors instead of having all those tight turns and single walls between rooms would let players more easily build a mental map. Or perhaps getting lost is one of the traps, too!
This is a great entry. I had fun. Goal was clear and well executed. Good job!
Atmosphere is great, the sounds, colors. .. but I coudn't figured out that puzzle with the rocks with some sort of light emiting from it.
Awesome game!
I'm a fan, loved the voice acting, loved the professionalism overall, I did end up solving the puzzle by trial and error though (maybe I'm just thick).
This game felt like a AAA game studio prototype.
Very happy I tried it and can't believe it was your first Jam.
Wow! It is really fun to play! I loved the atmosphere of the dungeon :D
