Your games are always so fun to play!

You def have a good recipe for fun games!

This was a 5/5 imo, you really nailed everything.

Had fun trying to figure out the most optimal stratergy.

What path did you go with for your score?

Well done! :D

Thanks for the kind words!

Interesting, someone finally put up a good score. This might be better than any of my scores from testing, I think I was getting into the 11k range. I will have to see if I can beat this score.

Was the game fun to play?

It’s super fun. I loved switching between fighting the hordes of enemies to looking after the pet. The loop of feeding freshly dead bodies to increase health, petting for happiness and boosting energy by switching a light off when it sleeps so it can use magic is such a fun game loop. I especially like that the bodies go rotten and that the magic spells feel powerful and juicy. Being able to choose which path the pet evolves is amazing too and I love how there is so much choice.

Did the game include the core elements from the original?

Absolutely. The character starts by hatching from an egg and has different life stages. Looking after the pet’s needs (health, food, sleep and happiness) was included. The pet calls for your attention. If the pet is fed a rotten body, it gets sick and you can heal it with a herb. The branching evolution path is done exceptionally well.

Was there a clear path of progression?

Definitely. The tutorial explained how the game works in a fun low pressure way by using the training dummy. Getting a high happiness score was a clear objective. Defeating enemies and looking after the pet’s needs was a clear and well balanced method to progressing.

How good was the audio and sound FX?

The background music is brilliant and I like that there are multiple high quality tracks that keep the atmosphere fresh. The sound effects are all juicy and I like that you have volume controls for music and SFX.

How well implemented was the UI?

Exceedingly good. Being able to enter your own name and the pet’s name at the start is great and I love the leaderboard, especially because I got 6th. The colourful bar charts for stats are easy to read at a glance. I also really liked the control scheme where you can hold the left mouse button down for continuous attacking and petting. Swapping the custom cursor with 1,2 and 3 was very intuitive and the skill point presentation is the cherry on the top.

dragging the bodies and feeding them was the part I mostly liked! Great usage of all the corpses and plants!
Loved the different progression pathways and the visual/attack changes, you nailed it with the skilltree! (loved the top scoring pet name hehe)

This is a cool game! I found out that the poison strat is pretty strong on my second playthrough. I think the only thing that felt strange is what causes the lose / game over condition? After playing a few times, I think it's just a timer? There could be some more UI or a tooltip to indicate how close you are to game over.

Either way, you've surely secured a top 10 once again. Great job!

Actually, there is a timer on the screen. Maybe just a little too small with all the chaos going on. Thanks for the kind words and the playthrough.

You nailed it, hands down the most fun Tamagotchi I have ever played. You had all the elements this game is brilliant!

Very fun entry!

I liked the skill tree progression and how it visually influenced your pet!

The thing that wasn't super clear to me at first was the happiness. Holding interact on it didn't seem to increase it much, but it seemed like following the instructions/requests was more effective on my next playthrough.

The aesthetic was really cohesive and the experience gave a ton of dopamine, great work!

Awesome take on the theme, the game loop is very satisfying :)

It was definitely not easy😅 and I still didn't get to the top 10, so will have to go back to this one :)

But I had a lot of fun playing it. I think the upcoming enemies might take away attention from the caring part a little bit. And it might be a bit hard to manage both loops. Anyways, its a great quality game, very cute pet forms, clear progression, as usual - awesome UI and SFX!

Great entry! and good luck in finals ;)

Really loved this one! Very polished in all aspects - like others have said having to drag so many bodies was the only downside. I enjoyed all of the different transformations and figuring out a strategy to manage the attacking army more efficiently!

Hell yeah!

The clicking and dragging of corpses got a bit tedious and i think changing that somehow would make for a better game. Overall a great entry though! You sure know how to make engaging gameplay!
