I really enjoyed the overall vibe and visuals of this game! The chosen colors (overall green and red for death screen) do fit really well and are pleasing to look at. Every run is unique with different map layout and characters, etc. makes the game replayable. I had fun playing, good job! Man i really liked the art style xD

lovely dungeon crawler. loved the fact that I was not getting lost too much, which usually happens to me in these types of games

Loved the atmosphere.
As someone who enjoys dungeon crawlers, I had a great time with this.
Very polished for a jam project.

Nice work! 💚
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.

This is great! reminds me of the old doom games. I hope you can find time to check out my game as I am trying to learn from the best here :D

It has such a creepy and atmosphere. Great job!
if you have some free time,I'd be happy if you tried my game

This game is awesome it gives me retro vibes and remind me of fear and hunger :)

I didn't understand how I attack at first but figured it out, so maybe that something you could add to the controls in game.

I also sometimes turned 180 degrees instead of 90 when turning. I think because I hold the key for to long. thats nothing game breaking but anoying while navigating.

All in all a very unsetteling expierence (in a good way :D)

insanely well made game, also it was really spooky! xd

Finally a Vermis game! And a dungeon crawler too, woah! Just a perfect blend in my view

Without that personal bias though, I feel like it has an amazing atmosphere with really effective spooky moments, tense gameplay and striking inspired art!

I must say, I couldn't complete it, my flesh melted so quickly even with equipment :')
Although I liked the persistent level, which allows you to plan ahead, and of course the disposable nature of your flesh minions, really  MÖRK BORG'ian. Great stuff!

(couldn't run it in the browser though)

doom style dungeon crawler goes crazzzy :3 art styles peak, and it was like retro in a nostalgia with modern game engine kinda way. I will say, a tutorial of some kind would be really cool :sob: like i wasn't exactly sure if i needed a lever or how I was supposed to fight the goobers. Cool game tho :3

The game looks amazing and I absolutely love the concept! Unfortunately, its a bit too hard for me. I saw in another comment that you're supposed to avoid the cultists, so I tried that and managed to survive for longer, but it was hard to escape them and they often cornered me. It'd be great if they weren't as fast or if you could push past them when cornered!

I love the retro style, and atmosphere you made with it.

Hey, as a fellow dev that summitted a weird corridor horror game I can appreciate the retro style and shaders, really set the atmosphere well. I couldn't figure out how to kill the enemies, some visual cues and text could've helped me to understand what I'm doing wrong as I don't know if I'm hitting the enemy, or if I could've dodged them, or did I need to find any items to get powerful enough to pass them. But I enjoyed the game, really solid. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback!
I'm trying to think of what kind of visual feedback we should give better, but we thought that the scary sprite and jumpscary sound would be enough to convey that you should not try to fight against them at all in the beginning.
Rolling a better character and having luck on the dice rolls during the fight does help, as well as finding better loot in the dungeon, maybe we should display better the dice rolls on the log itself?

You could make like an attack animation and then add grey text: "damage 0", something 2D like in Undertale, the slashing animation. Just to let the player know he did something and it didn't work. Maybe that

Developer

Yeah like separating better the turns right, that does make sense!

Amazing artsyle man!

Thanks! Our artist appreciates it!

Got my flesh harvested a couple times, before rolling a 10 hp 3 strength hercules that just stomped every cultist from the gate which quickly let flesh max and finally get cured of my blight easy style. Though it could use a dedicated map screen or some more UI to know where you haven't been yet tho. I definitely got turned around a bunch. In all, fun game and loved the aesthetic. :)

Developer

Yeah we want to improve the map a little as it's current state is for sure too simplistic and doesn't convey what you still have yet to explore.

Really cool aesthetic, very retro. The game was very creepy, I liked the statues they were quite unique. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We hope the statues look creepy enough haha

Amazing effect with the lighting of the hallways!

Developer

Thanks! We want to improve it even further

Good job. Love the fonts and the atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you!

Yes, this was creepy and fun, really great visuals that set the atmosphere up well. Ah real change up to the normal submissions! Well done on this old school crawler!

Developer

Thanks! We really wanted to do something different here

I'm digging at 100% the visuals. I love those kind of game, and i'm pretty familiar with the vermis universe of plastiboo, so i really like this ahah

I'm not super good at how i can figure to survive, but i really like the overall, very cohesive experience.

Feel free to test our game !

Developer

That's nice to hear from someone that gets our referenes!
A tip would be to roll a better character and try to find some loot while avoiding any fights.

Love the visuals and the traditional dungeon crawling aspect of the game. I havent played one of these before and was looking forward to trying out one. I would also take a look at vampire crawlers (demo out on steam next fest now), which got me interested in the genre initially and ill be playing its demo eventually

Developer

Vampire Crawlers is amazing I've been playing it for a couple of hours. You should for sure check out other DRGPs as well the genre is too underrated
