This game is awesome it gives me retro vibes and remind me of fear and hunger :)
I didn't understand how I attack at first but figured it out, so maybe that something you could add to the controls in game.
I also sometimes turned 180 degrees instead of 90 when turning. I think because I hold the key for to long. thats nothing game breaking but anoying while navigating.
All in all a very unsetteling expierence (in a good way :D)
Very cute well done puzzle platformer, the graphics are really good, I like the simplicity.
Also is the rotation idea really cool.
I just that both mechanics (rotation and dimension swapping) feel like they are 2 games in one.
I would suggest to stay with the rotation idea and maby add rotation around the other axis (think its X and Y) to make more complex puzzel.
Overall really cool entry :)
Very cool game for your first game :) Reminded me of binding of isaac :D
I love that you made the art yourself, it gives the game a really unique retro vibe :)
A few things I would recommend:
- The enemies are sometimes spawn inside the player, one solution could be to define multiple spawn areas and only spawn in areas where the player is not.
- The different rooms could have different mechanics, like traps you have to dough
- hold the button to shoot balls
- The end could have a big enemy as a boss, this would round up the experience
Overall great game ! keep up the good work :)
Thats a awesome game, one of the best I played this jam!
Smooth controls, awesome little story, every level has a different mechanic, A FUCKING BOSS FIGHT THAT COMBINES ALL MECHANICS awesome!
The art is very well done and the music is good.
The only two minor things that I would recommend to change is:
- Boss could have a health bar
- The gravity change could be telegraphed somehow, like the laser beam and the ground falling. Sometimes it just changed mid air and it felt rather unfair to die because of it
Awesome entry! Really fun!
Very cool experience. The levels felt like liminal spaces and made it a little terrifying :D
The chromatic effect was a bit to much for me, especially because its permanent. I get the idea that it feels like a dream but I think the level design already very well communicated this.
I would love to see more of it :) Very awesome work!
loving the pop-up card like artstyle of the game! very cute.
I would like to just walk over the wheat and collect it and not press E each time.
Also I didn't get why you can look in the sky. It would be really cool if there is a gameplay reason to do it (maybe there is one and I just miss it).
Very cool keep it up :)
What a fun game, the idea is pretty cool and the mini games where all challenging but fun.
I most liked the catching game with the burger, the movement was good balanced so I can dodge him with skill.
Overall all games where pretty well executed, the controls felt smooth and no game felt unfair.
The art is very cool for a jam game, I would suggest to use a simpler color palette so the colors don't feel all over the place.
If you continue to work on this I would like to see (this is no critic for the jam game, because obviously you had to make shortcuts because of the time limitation :) ):
- more content (I am fine with reusing some mini games but maybe with a small twist)
- more details in the level, specially the background.
Very awesome entry :)
Very intresting concept, I must say I was a bit confused in the beginning and still are not sure how the game works.
I think the game would benefit from a good tutorial, I was more random clicking and trying what to do then playing the game.
Sound and visuals are awesome end the writting style in the dialogue is also very good.
If the game mechanic is better explained, this could be a really fun expirience :) Keep up the work
Very cool game, didn't expect to go from party to satanic demon killing in one second :D mabye the transition between the two could be break up in multiple stages. First you see some tentakles then slowly everybody is going demon mode.
Also I didn't figure out what to do besides killing the demons, so after a while I just stop playing.
What made me thinking is, if this is only a drug.. do I kill people there ;O mabye this could be implied at the game. Where you can run away or dodge the demons or kill them, but when you kill them you killed a normal person that was just dancing.
Keep up the good work :)
The idea is pretty cool and I also love the graphics :)
It just took me a while to understand the game. In the tutorial text the color of the reactors that fix stability is named blue but ingame it was green, that was a bit confusing :D
From gamplay side I felt never the need to update and when I did there was very low impact to my gameplay.
Also I didn't get the point of the yellow reactors, when should I use them.
Sill very cool game idea, you should keep working on it :)
I like the idea, reading about the location and try to find the right one for the customer is cool.
unfortunately clicking through the menu was not so fun. constantly swiching between email and location overview was anoying, especially because the windows sometimes popup behind the current one. Also the tutorial was a little bit hidden, at least it took me a while to find it :D
I would redesign the UI. Here is how I would do it (that doesn't mean that is the right way but maybe you can take away something :) )
- Go away from the computer approch, instead you have a office where clients come to you
- have the screen split between top (2/3) and bottom (1/3)
- top part shows some animation where a new client comes and goes (can be 2d or 3d)
- top part also shows the client request in a corner (as a kind of questlog)
- bottom part shows the stange places as travel brochure (only the cover but all of them)
- if the player clicks on them they can brows through the brochure, while the client request is visiable
But I still love the idea and the places you designed :) Keep up the work this could be a really cool game if you continue working on it :)
The idea is pretty cool, funny I made a game with a similar concept where you switch between worlds :D
The rewind mechanic is pretty cool btw! Makes the game a loot less frustrating.
But I see you took the approach where you have 2 entities and the player can switch between them, I had 1 entity which can switches worlds.
There a few bugs I found (some I don't know if it is intended but I still write it as feedback):
- When you rewind, only the active entity is rewinded not the inactive one.
- The white entity is dying by things that are in the black world (the cactus thing on the left of the start in level 1)
Sometimes a box get stuck against a wall and I have to restart, I would also add a pause menu or a restart button so the player don't is hard stuck to restart the game.
Also I would suggest to redesign the boxes that exist in both worlds. For me it was sometimes confusing why they are not moving, till I realized it stuck against a wall in the other world.
Awesome work keep it up :)
What a cute little game, I was expecting something horror like but I was surprised. The story of the characters are really cute.
Gameplay wise I wise there where a little bit more variety in how the pour mechanic is used, but I get that this is not the main focus of the game.
Really great job, very cool and short expierence :)
Thanks for the feedback :) Yeah there is alot to balance there.
The initial idea was that if a character get lost (eigther by hitting or by picking up someone on a full couch), you find him later with stronger abilities (more range, more damage or more direction at the same time). Also you pick which one get lost instead of random. But I did not manage to implemented in time so I want with random and no updates.
This way I give it more depth, you can eigther drop a powerfull character but can't use them till you find him again and get a even more powerfull one or drop a niche character and get a powerful one later.
Very cool game, love the art style and the card game seems really promesing.
I don't know if this is a real card game or if you made it up but most rounds for me was just that I could not do anything, because I did not have the right card (but I also suck at card games, so maybe thats a me problem :D)
