How does your game represent "Slick"?
We've picked two definitions and worked around them:
"operating or performing skilfully and effectively, without problems and without seeming to need effort" -> perform a trick with the press of just one button
"smooth, wet and slippery (= difficult to move on without sliding)" -> play an ice cube, which will slide around the floor. Too bad there are too many obstacles in the way :(

Hey there, thank you for your kinds words :)
You can do more tricks per round after buying the "Coordination" upgrade
Pro tip: getting a bunch of upgrades will easily break the game
"Insight" doubles the number of slick points you get per trick, so getting this upgrade about 1024 times will give you infinite slick points
From then on, you're free to buy each upgrade as many times as you want, setting the cooldown of tricks to about 0 seconds, removing pick ups from the game completely and becoming a demi-god by having too much HP
I hope this helps :D
Some pretty slick movement. Second game I have seen as an actual ice block so far lol.
I was having issues getting tricks to perform when hitting space.
The sound effects in this game are really great especially when hitting objects. The "Dodge!" and "That ain't cool!" sounds made me understand what I shouldn't be hit by. It gets pretty difficult to keep track of where to go to make sure not to be hit by glasses but I think that's part of the game and the reason why there are upgrades after each round. Good job on this jam!
well I hate to be the guy that changed it from 69 ratings to 70 ratings haha. But wow that was more fun than I expected. You managed to keep a very simple gameplay loop get more chaotic but in the same sense more fun. Loved the amount of crazyness that can occur and I wasn’t even expecting upgrades!! that was a nice touch. great work
lot of great music at this jam. had fun getting to infinite score in this one! great entry and i hope you and your wife are proud of what you made, hope to see you in the next jam!
The obstacles spawning to the beat of the music? You are slick for that. The song is such a bop, I can definitely see Dunkey getting into it. The voice gave me Jungle Boogie vibes. I am ashamed to admit I "beat" the game as an immortal super cube, but I am thankful the blessing allowed me to hear the whole song. Thanks for the fun game, well done!
This game is very hard.. at least for me.. I was very bad at it, until I got into a state where it seemed like I couldn't lose any health for a really long time. I had so much fun playing out the game and seeing the chaos that unfolds.
Most of all, though, the music rocks most truthfully-- I love the false ending. I would listen to that song when I'm not playing a game! Well done.
Hey there, thank you for your kind words :)
The game is pretty broken it seems :D
You can either become invincible (which happens about 90% of the time), or break the game by getting too many upgrades, causing you to get infinite slick points, being able to spam tricks, removing pick ups entirely, etc. It really has that game jam essence I believe :D
I'm glad you got to enjoy the song, I'll release it in the coming days!
This game was pretty fun! I had a bug where I became invincible after trying to do the trick on the ground. It let me get to the end of the song at least! I also thought it would be neat if the pickups were something other than simple shapes. Overall though, this was a fun game with great presentation!
Wow, that was intense! What an overwhelming barrage of lights and motion and moving projectiles, all set to a pounding beat. Slick.
OH YEAH!! Okay this is awesome!!! I had to keep playing to hear the dopeness of this song!!! But I couldn't handle it for long, the pulsing camera view is a bit nauseating for me... very well done tho!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH YEAH!!
Playing as a trick-performing ice cube in a neon-soaked bar dodging all kinds of flying bar props is already peak game jam energy, but the sheer confidence of it all sells the vibe. It’s chaotic, flashy, and proudly over-the-top, like someone dared you to an impossible challenge and without reading any specs you said “Bet.”
Let’s talk about the real MVP: that soundtrack. JUMP AROUND!! The music doesn’t just bop, it spikes your drink and drags you onto the dance floor. Visually, it’s a laser show wrapped around a mid-2000s edutainment fever dream but in the best way possible. Yes, the flashing lights and camera zooms occasionally makes it feel like you're testing the player's eligibility for astronaut training, but honestly? It kind of works.
Underneath the chaos is a surprisingly tight roguelite-rhythm-based-bullet-hell-platformer, to bad you missed out on including turn-based deckbuilding mechanics as well, for the full package. Movement feels responsive, dodging is satisfying, and the permanent upgrade system gives the player that delicious “one more run” energy. But you also allow the player to just not do anything, let the screen fill with points while they vibe to the entire track uninterrupted. The immortality bug might be unintentional, but it’s also the most generous DJ in gaming history. AND IT'S OVER!
SIKE!! Okay, reality check: no-tricks-bugs and no-damage-bugs do ice-skate dangerously close to “core feature malfunction,” and a toggle for visual effects would saved several kids from unnecessary trips to the hospital. The ideas are absolutely there: new levels for tables, stands, toilets, dance floors, etc. together with new songs, maybe even a side-to-side ping-pong-scrolling mode with extreme DOF parallax. Think about the ice cubes in the nightclub sequence in Temple of Doom.
But start simple. First include some polished tutorials, clearer trick mechanics, and maybe scripted patterns synced tightly to the music would elevate this from “chaotic cult hit” to “actual rhythm legend.”
LET'S GO!!
Hey there, words can't describe how grateful I am for this detailed feedback! You offered your services and more than delivered :D
There is definitely room for improvement in this game, but I'm glad people find it enjoyable, especially the soundtrack
I had a good laugh when you suggested turn-based deck building mechanics, as they're so absurdly popular nowadays, why didn't I think of it myself lol
It wasn't intended to be that chaotic and difficult, but if the players don't mind, I don't mind either
Also, I meant to implement the option to turn off visual effects before submission, but I was kinda sleepy and forgot about it (final submission time: about 12:30 AM)
Once the jam is over and my wife and I find the time, we will for sure continue with this project, as we already have ideas for new levels and varying gameplay mechanics and of course tricks. Thank you for your ideas, I've noted them down, hope you don't mind :D
I can't thank you enough for this, you've earned all of the slick points I have to offer
Have a good time and stay slick! 😎
The visuals are great and I enjoy the chaos. The tricks didn't work for me at all until I picked up my first upgrade that increases how many tricks can be done per attempt. I think at one point, I also wasn't taking damage, but that fixed itself too. I like how you can get upgrades after each attempt and try again. Nice work!
Hey there, thank you for your feedback :)
Tricks are kinda (no, very) buggy, which sucks as they are a core feature lol, but I guess it all worked out in the end :D
I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
PS: my wife also says thank you, she's responsible for the artstyle and the slick appearance of the main character :D
Baha awesome !! Music bops !! I hope you upload an extended version with even more flashing lights and camera movement for those that can handle the slickness
Hey there, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
My wife and I have planned to add more levels in the future, maybe even with varying gameplay
As for visual effects, I wanted to make tricks look even cooler by adding slow mo and zooming the camera in during a trick, but it didn't really work out in the timeframe, so I'll just have to try again :)
Nice double interpretation of the theme. I got the inevitable invincibility bug (you can still force death by getting squished by a bottle) but at least I got to enjoy the full show! Sure gets intense in the latter half. It’s nice that this has permanent upgrades. I managed to get Infinity slick points.
Hey there, thank you for your feedback :)
When I first read about the invincibility bug, I was kinda bummed out because I wasn't able to fix this game breaking bug in time
Now I'm actually glad as people get to enjoy the whole song without effort (which is pretty slick) :D
Congrats on getting infinity slick points (I kinda forgot that it wouldn't take long to reach this lol), this will ensure you and your descendents will be slick for generations 8-)
