bEAUTIFUL

Thank you so much! I've been victim to the restart reload a few times myself lol. I'm glad you had a good time :)

I did it!!! Love the lore, art, atmosphere, and gameplay, great on all accounts. PvP would go crazy. Maybe it's because I didn't read but I had no idea you could choose multiple modifiers. Changed the game a lot for me when I realized but idk what the AI would be thinking. Great work!

This is a crazy good entry, especially for a solo dev. The level design alone is incredible. Either I'm just a gamer or you did a great job communicating the controls to the player through the level design. I feel like every checkpoint, I learned something new about the mechanics up until the very end. I didn't once need to look at the controls because they were so intuitive, accessible, and easily understood. So good.

I will say that I wish I could use the tongue more to grab snacks cause it's so satisfying and fun I keep trying to make a quick grab mid-air and keep on grappling. It might be possible if I get more familiar with the game, but it could be nice to have a faster grapple just for that reason. The only other thing is I was a bit hesitant to use the wall climb/jump. I think it's another skill curve thing, but I was never sure if I was gonna launch off the wall into some spikes or not since I didn't expect it to be so forgiving so maybe a little more clarity in that area would be nice. Can't praise the level enough, the areas felt memorable and there were fun patterns I could recognize on first play and satisfyingly avoid on the next encounter. Slick!

The gameplay footage does not do this game justice. It is such a vibe and so fun to spin around and do some slick tricks. I only wish that the rails were easier to get on but that's about it for notes. Great work!

Absolute cinema.

I think this is what dunkey imagined when he made the theme "slick." Found myself moving and grooving to the rhythm but I do wish I could perform more slick tricks per round. Great variety of objects to dodge too, good work!

The intro, art and SFX are so great. Really made me feel like a suave penguin readily accepting my role as the village protector. My only notes are the lack of explanation of the gameplay systems but that's pretty standard for most jam games and I found them pretty intuitive so great job!

I love the way the UI is done, very simple and effective. Probably one of my favorite car games so far cause flipping over the car was just really enjoyable lol. Great work!

Love the vibes here, fun music and art. I think the only thing that detracts is the controller cause sometimes when you bounce off the wall, you can go in the opposite direction from the one you're trying to go. Other than that, this is sliiiiiick.

Thanks for letting us know! There are ways to go faster but they're not super well-communicated currently so we'll be working on that.

Thanks for the feedback! Originally, we thought of a kill-zone that would follow the player or the level path and reset the player when hit. We're also looking into environmental hazards and more interesting enemies. Glad you had fun zooming !

Thanks for playing! Timeslow only activates when you have “slick” in your meter from when you kill enemies but we never made that clear in the tutorial so thanks for letting us know. Glad you liked the music!

Thanks for the feedback! Right now we just have an auditory cue for hit confirm but no visual cue yet. I’ll check that game out for some inspiration, thank you!

Reminds me of when I would secretly go into creative mode playing Minecraft with my cousin. Lovely art and fun game, my only notes are maybe adding a short tutorial since gamers notoriously avoid reading. Great work!

Let me know when you have the page up. Best of luck!

This is such a vibe, very slick. It's a shame everyone I interacted with dissolved into dust afterward. I guess I was just too cool (or should I say too slick)

This is so cute. The movement felt really good with the way the character was able to stop in the air, gave a really good sense of control. I love the little creatures too. Lovely game

Absolute cinema. This is crazy impressive and the atmosphere is incredible. I was actually jumpscared when the large enemies were barreling towards me. Please release a version with a tutorial so I can figure out how to play lol. Great work

I think just spreading out the controls on the keyboard a bit more since all the functions were where my left hand was and my right hand didn't have much to do so it could be nice to use left hand for movement and right hand for jumping, picking stuff up, etc.

(1 edit)

Loved the vibes and the artsyle and great concept! I wished it was a little more fast-paced and a little more chaotic to differentiate it, could definitely see this being expanded. Great work!

Crazy amount of polish and content in this one, really well done. Gameplay, music, and art are all incredible. I know it's probably meant for controller but a little bit of effort on mapping the keyboard controls could go a long way for accessibility. Otherwise, great job guys!

The vibes are immaculate. Love the music and the atmosphere. I would love to see another reason to spill oil since it's easy to avoid that and let the other cars be. I'd also like if crashing was a bit more forgiving, maybe you restart after 3 hits? Otherwise, very fun and chill.

Very slick and stylish combat! Felt great to play. My only notes are maybe more enemy variety instead of mostly one enemy type per zone and I think the timer should be in seconds to get a better idea of how long I have. Otherwise, great work!

Love the feeling of the car controller and the atmosphere. Easy to understand and difficult to master. Nice work!

Captured the inscryption vibes very well here and executed to an impressive degree. Loved the music as well. I could see this being fleshed out for sure. Great job!

Charming, unique, and fun! Lovely take on the genre, very cool. Would be nice to have a preview of the next shape to plan ahead though. Great work!

Love the characters and the combat is pretty fun. I should really get a raise for this though

Really great job on the atmosphere. I feel like it could do from some more sound effects and some better enemy AI but everything about the game visually adds to the tension a lot. Great work!

This is so fun! A bit challenging at first but once I got into the rhythm, there was a flow going. Very unique, great work

I feel like this has potential if the mechanics were clearer in the beginning. Maybe a tutorial? Great job given the time frame

Very charming, loved when the floating orb vibrated angrily at me

I loved peeing as a bear but going to jail was sad

Love the red guy. Also the mechanics for jumping are pretty unique, nice work

Loved skating on the road in the original skate games. This captures the vibes pretty well, nice concept

I love the style of this game so so much, captured the retro feel very well. Got nice and chaotic near the end which was very fun. If you're wanting more chaos, having player collisions with enemies bounce the player could help as well but that could get out of control quickly. Great job!

I love the physics of the fish so much, really makes you feel slick, especially with the sfx. There was a blue tint to the screen at some point which made it hard to see. Great work, very charming

Didn't expect minigames in my coworker dating sim. Very unique and charming. The only thing is that I couldn't tell if the minigames impacted the conversation much but I also didn't read the controls screen lol. Great work!

This is so unique and really interesting. Loved that I could knock that old guy over
