loved this, could def benefit from a bit of music but other than that, 10/10

Developer

it does have music, what do you mean haha

Submitted

oh it does my fault, conveniently forgot i turned it down at the start haha

im curious, is there a reason to press A or go left and slow down? After I started getting the going I just held hard right and won.

Developer

umm not particularly, I was hoping to add more things to make it worthwhile but couldn't think of anything interesting enough haha

fair enough ha

Good game, I like your art style, narrative and idea to approach theme!

For sure here audiovisual layer is top *clap*

I encountered bug that my character just slowly running starts so I couldn't end the round, so I think there should be option to force end of your turn. Gameplay is interesting and engaging but I felt I did too quickly to the end.

Congratulations on your submission!

Fun game! Graphics were good and a great level of polish. I especially liked the swirling background in the store - was that a shader or prerendered stuff? Would love to see more!

I never thought that I would play a game about falling down the stairs much less loving the game! Great job guys, this is so fun, I love it! Graphics are really good, sound is great, game is fun and enjoyed every second of it, amazing.

10/10 no notes, I just wish there was more.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is SUCH a fantastic game. A great use of the theme, instantly addictive. I maybe would have liked a slider to adjust the CRT filter's strength, but honestly this is nitpicking. The game is great.

I had already commented on this before, but felt the need to make a new comment with more text because I just keep coming back to this game. Wow.

This game is extremely fun! There's something so charming about a clumsy goblin falling face first down the longest flight of stairs in existence and then somehow becoming overpowered while doing so. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize I could slash the enemies, and once I did that I was unstoppable! I love this game and the silliness of everything about it. Also the way the UI design meshes with the art and everything is perfection. Really amazing work!

This was a very simple but fun game, only critique is that after a few rounds I pretty much immediately was able to reach the end, but that’s a minor nitpick. Also I know the Super Mario 64 soundfont when I hear it you’re NOT slick (/silly), was pretty fitting for the title I must say. Art was also very nice, I liked all the sprites for the goblin as she hit the stairs.

I very much looked forward to playing this while you were updating your progress in the discord channel. It did not disappoint. It took me a second to understand how to get slam to propel me farther, but once I figured it out, I was able to go from only getting to level 6 to suddenly reaching 25 then finally beating the whole thing. An endless mode for high score would be a great addition to the game if you decide to take it any further after the voting ends.

That was such an original idea! I have a lot of fun with it. The graphics were really charming and cute and the crt shader makes it even nicer imo. Very good entry, probably my favourite so far! 😎

For a while I was progressing without really learning how to play the game, once I was actually doing THE THING and if felt epic it was over after two more gos, so that was a bit unfortunate :O
Also I was totally just clicking the upgrades at random since I could often afford many of them so the choice didn't seem so meaninful. I would have also loved to be able to look ahead more to see whats coming. maybe the character should be more left on the screen or maybe a little preview of the lvl would help?
Now that all sounds terribly critical, but actually I did have fun and I love the look of the game a lot! Seems like things that can be polished easily cause you already did all the hard work :)! Good job!

Also did I fly by some giant character in the bg at some point? Who was that!? :O

Developer

I did think about moving the character more to the left, think that could be a good call!

I love the idea and art style!

For gameplay, initially there was not much to do and after buying few upgrades it progressedpretty quick, so maybe little more balancing would help, but that's minor thing, overall really fun experience!

Developer(+1)

I was really just trying to make a shorter experience this time as I know retention for jam games isn't the highest, and in the past i've tried to make something too complicated which hasn't worked out!

Cool idea for an incremental game, the premise is great and its really fun to see the goblin fly at the incredible speed. I wish there was just a bit more to it, after a couple of upgrades and figuring out how to slam the ground the game is pretty much over.

Very fun, love the idea and implementation, Good job!

Submitted(+1)

Wow that works well, I really liked the upgrades and progression, well done!

Uses one theme and does it well. I normally hate clickers, but this is... rhythm. Graphics are amazing, for their scale, and the speed and progression was really fun. Sounds were appropriate and we are treated to volume controls immediately. Or fun enough to award me a victory :D

Only gripe is the intro messages are slow.

oh man once i really figured out how to get going it was such a treat to get a bunch of air time, this was such a blast

Within a minute of playing the game I could just spam and beat but the idea was amazing and the VFX was really cool. In future make the axe and the enemy bounce less op and remove the roof it messed up a buncha runs. I'm also confused on the slam but this was really fun! Cute art, great idea.
