But the twist is, you can manipulate the race track by placing obstacles which not only pose a risk to the other cookie racers but also your own cookie.

ok so, the game is not bad overall. I liked the idea. The art was pretty good; i liked the different environments. The audio was nice too. But the gameplay wasn't that nice.
For starters, like many others have mentioned already, fortune cookie + bridge of the void combo is just too OP in elimination mode. In fact, in every mode, it's wayyy too OP... And this strategy below, basically guarantees a win in any mode when playing as fortune cookie:

If any cookie somehow manages to not step into the void, which in this scenario and from my experience of playing the game, the cookie will be on the third plank, never reaching the fourth (unless fortune cookie but im always playing as fortune cookie). So if the cookie survives the bridge, you can just quickly add a cannon to the second lane, capturing the cookie from the third, sending the cookie back to the second lane bridge to fall into the void. Hence this effectively becomes a foolproof way to win. Of course, the broken planks lane positions are random, but the strategy will still apply.
Next, I'm not sure if this is intentional, but the random obstacles mechanic doesn't seem to spawn anything other than the bridge of the void and the river. Imo if the cannon or the conveyor belt also spawns, it'll make for a much more interesting gameplay, cuz like- the cannon is pretty much the only thing that can take fortune cookie out from what i've played. Having the cannon be auto-spawned means you need to use the conveyor belt to make the fortune cookie avoid the cannon.
Moving on, at times, the gameplay can feel kinda stale ngl. Like when waiting for the cookies to get to the next obstacle, it can be quite a long wait, especially with multiple rivers having auto-spawned... I don't really know how you can fix this tho.
Anyway, I also found this bug where a cookie can get stuck whilst playing (rolling cookie is stuck):

And well in elimination this means you'll never win and will have to quit :/
Also, the outline of the text in the tutorial is kinda weird.
Next, the camera panning control felt rather sluggish, like the movement kinda accelerates and decelerates a little too slowly. This is not really that big of a deal but well it'd be nice if it was snappier imo (i added this feedback for the extra bitterness you requested :var:)
That said, I liked the amount of polishing you've managed to squeeze in. And I do like the different obstacle mechanics in the game, but it's just that the way that certain things are implemented... allows for the "foolproof win strat". If you balanced the fortune cookie's OPness and patched the strat, i feel like this game can be pretty nice.
Fun idea for a game. I had just a struggle in zooming out and was not really sure what to do while waiting for the next random obstacle.
Maybe beside zooming out it would be nice to have the camera following the cookie over the race - instead of zooming out completely to see it.

The thing is, you usually buy and place your own obstacles, but if you dont do that for 15 secs. A random obstacle will spawn on its own
This adds another risk factor as if you dont take the risk yourself, the game will do it FOR you
I def agree with the camera problem you mentioned tho, that was a miss from me. Ill def add it as a post jam update :)

Really fun idea. The visual and music are very fitting. But there aren't much I can do beside that.
Fortune Cookie + Bridge of void the = OP in eliminate race. hahaha
I really like the art style and the music—great job on that! :))
I did notice some odd behavior when pressing the space bar though, it seems to restart the race or something like that? :D
This way i could cheese my cookie to victory! xD

OOOHH, THAT IS A CLEVER BUG FIND
You see, when you select the lane where yo start, the ui just goes offscreen and isnt deleted xD
It seems I also forgot to disable that button
And in godot if you click a button it goes in this focus state where you can just press the ui_accept action (which had space bar) to press it again.
So you can repeatedly press it even after its off-screen xD

Its a good idea and quite fun. I just couldn't figure out how to zoom out enough to view the entire race.
If we're talking about games that meet this criteria, this is without a doubt the best. The graphics and every element are superb. Keep up the good work!
Great concept, I really loved it! I LOVE that there’s such a variety of cookies. I like the ‘obstacle’ system where you still have to be careful they don’t backfire on you (in one race I dropped MY cookie into the pit haha). Maybe I would have made the camera movement a bit more convenient, maybe with WASD (if it already is, it didn’t work in my gameplay, sorry). Other than that, it seems well made pixel art is well done, music is great, nice game!
My betting addiction made me steal a bit too much from your game designer pocket if you know what I mean...
The game is chill and fun, I had fun watching my cookie roll while trying to blast away with cannons the other ahahah. Maybe you could add an automatic camera so it get even chiller, perfect to relax and loose money
Very creative interpretation of the theme and great implementation! The races are really cool and enjoyable, and feel very polished. It has kind of a Football Manager vibe (which I love). One possible improvement was to add a way to make the camera follow the horse, but it was not that hard to navigate. This concept has great potential! Congratulations!

Initially, the game would soft lock after you lose, so this was a very necessary change lmao

Great game. I loved the effects with the obstacles, likes others have said these stood out as really polished. I know there's a how to play section but a bit more hand holding at the start with the mechanics might make it easier to get into it though. Nice work, I'll be coming back to play it again in the future!
Ahh another thing I was surprised nobody was complaining about
The tutorial, it was basically a very last minute addition. I actually wanted a specific tutorial level where Id teach the player how everything worked.
And even remade the whole character selection logic specfically to facilitate that, but in the end I didnt really have time to work on that, so just ended up having scattered text throughout the game
