Sorry for just now playing your game, this game was so fun!! I had a blast!! At first I thought there was a bug with one of the flowers not allowing you to move but then realized it was a puzzle! So smart! And I was afraid I will be lost without a map but the smoke from the fire on the base home really helped me out!! Really good game design!!

The only thing  is that now I'm sad that its over.

Thank you so much for making this game for the jam!!

ok yeah this one's a delight

it's interesting when you find jam games that clearly just have a lot of design behind them, mostly these kinds of games end up showing off a lot of great art but fail to deliver on interesting gameplay, or they manage to nail one fun mechanic but can't really place it in the interesting contexts that make it into a structured, evolving challenge

this one has none of those issues, it has fun stuff that interacts in a cool way, and there is clear intent and structure to all of it

the visuals are also very charming and varied, i will say that i think the music could have had more variation to it, or maybe had an extra song added, it did start to get on my nerves a little by the time i got all the flowers, no shade tho it was catchy and cute, but also didn't personally think it fit the exploration and the vibe that the rest of the game gave me since it was so jaunty, that's just a taste thing tho i think

great job yall fr

Thank you so much for playing our game and your comment :D Im glad that you are able to point the game design, sorry about the music, we didnt have more time to implement more music and didnt think it through too much :>

I loved the flower mechanic! Very clever abilities, and having to manage the downsides a bit was a nice challenge.  I liked that once I found the a particular flower I was able to quickly find the last couple flowers that I had missed.  I'd love to see this fleshed out further!

This game was such a blast!! I played it together with my partner and we couldn't stop giggling when we had to throw the Pitcherbind up the hill and it kept rolling past us. The mechanics of this game are adorable and very intuitive.

I also LOVED the waterfall and other areas, they're so cozy and fun to spend time in.

The only thing I wish I was able to do is use my "Shift" key that was on the Right Side of my Keyboard so it was simpler to sprint places. Otherwise I had to kind of sprint in one direction, stop and then aim my mouse to another area.

I want more of Floratale soon!! Amazing work!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game and the comment, im glad that you enjoyed our game, sorry about the right shift issue (i didnt expect anyone to use that button hahaha) Ty for playing :>

This concept was so fascinating, super fun game!

Loved the slow discovery of the different flowers and their effects, super highlight of the game. The effects were also quite cool as they affected physics and world overall (like the lunar one), felt a bit metroid-y on an unexplored No Man's Sky world. Amazing job on the design!

Please add more background music haha the one track does stale after a bit, more SFX would be welcome. Also I would love a save button so I can come back and explore a bit more in bursts!

The map was well sized, I think the movement could have been a bit faster by default as it kind of locks one of your slots into a movement flower, and the discovery table a bit more central.

The pitchflower right in front of a hill was diabolical hahah

Super fun experience! Will be coming back to this one :p

Thank you so much for the comment and playing our game, i didnt really think through about the music in this game due to time TwT, glad you had a great time tho :>

This game made me want more of it. To me it had the right amount of challenge, where I felt smart every time I realized what I had to do, and I never got stuck. The map felt large enough to be explorable, with different distinct areas, and I enjoyed the variety of vibe between the waterfall area, the firey forest, the jumpy plateau place, etc.

Some of the flowers seemed a little unbalanced, with sprint being a must-have and others being never useful after they're collected. But this is the kind of mechanic that could go very deep, in a way that takes years of development and playtesting to get things balanced and feeling good, so that's not really a complaint, just wanting more of a good thing.

As soon as I realized what to do with the can't-move flower I just KNEW that the other new flower I thought I saw in that same pond was probably helpful, but by that time I'd already started working my way up the hill and if I paused to check then the can't-move flower would roll all the way back down and I'd lose my progress. I thought those flowers were really fun and such a great idea that I'd never seen before.

The moonlight flower was also so lovely; after I collected all the flowers I enjoyed some time just jumping around in the evening light with a moon flower and two flying flowers, enjoying the scenery and my fast movement speed.

I really had such a fun time playing this game.

Thank you so much for playing our game :> I agree with you when you said that the flowers is very unbalanced , some flowers is pretty op and some does nothing (purely aesthetics) but i tried my best to give a unique power to every flowers. I tried to make sprinting as accessible as possible by spreading swiftbloom around the map and there is around 3-4 unique flowers with sprinting powers(I forgot). Im glad that you enjoyed our game :D

Side Note: When you commented, i immediately recognized your name as the person who created that adorable unicorn game with the cute singing voice, thank you for playing :>

I was surprised at how strange the landscape and flowers look, but they're still cute. Finally a exploration game for change.

Thank you for playing our game, We were heavily inspired by fantasy themes, trying to play around with the definition of flowers :>

I really enjoyed this game! Loved the puzzles and stacking of flower abilities to traverse the whole map! I managed to jump up to the highest mountain top and felt really proud HAHA

I liked how the smoke of the fire place in the base area and the waterfall could be used as landmarks on where to head to, and would have loved if there were more landmarks along the routes so that I can keep track of where I was. Maybe a giant tree or like being able to scatter flower petals?

I also really loved the colors used and the lighting changes when certain flowers are picked up!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game, i expected someone would definitely try climbing to the highest mountain so i tried to make the terrain climb proof, didnt expect anyone to succeed in it, congratulations hahahaha.

Unfortunately, we didnt have any more time to create anymore landmark, so sorry for that :(

What a satisfying exploration game! I didn't expect the puzzle element, but I did really appreciate it. I'm admittedly one of those people who loses all sense of direction in 3d games, so I got lost and and just wandered around the map for a while. It would have been great to have some kind of mini map or other indication of where the research base was (although it's possible I missed something too?) I ended up mostly taking in the relaxing atmosphere and appreciating the small details that were put into the various game environments.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing our game, since this is our first 3D game, im not too sure if adding minimap is possible due to the time constraint, when the entire game system is done, we only have 1 day to implement all of the audio, so i tried making the campfire as the homebase indicator. Tysm for the comment :>

Cute map and had fun collecting the flowers! I thought I broke my game with the one that makes you stay in place.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game, and yeah i should have added more of an indicator since that was also the thing my playtesters faced but had no idea how to improve it, thats why i added the "[Q] - Throw" on the bottom left thinking that was enough :>

Had fun with this one! Really loved the idea of holding flowers for stacked buffs! Needing to use certain flower  combinations to be able to reach or get certain ones was a great design.

Managed to collect all 12 of them!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and completing it in 20 minutes, that was a good time for someone first time playing it :>

I loved the concept and the map! It's so colorful and the use of 3D and 2D assets together is very charming. The very first time I picked up a pitcherbinder I thought the game glitched XD Loved the exploration factor though  moving around such a big map had me struggling a bit around the end of the game, because I didn't quite know where else I hadn't looked yet, and going long distances while planning for inventory space and which flowers to keep and which to toss was both a cool concept and a bit frustrating at the same time. I'd like to see this one developed further.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing our game, i figured out if i use 3D grasses, the game would be already more unoptimized than now already is TvT, So i mixed 2D and 3D assets that turns out very well, sadly i have no plans on developing this one further but i would definitely use the mechanic of  planning  and the powers that can stack in my future projects, since this  mechanic is fun to play around with.

I really enjoyed the mechanic. It was fun to see what the flowers gave as well as how you could kinda think about what load out you wanted when exploring. The whole map felt really well designed. Like how the plant that  roots you is placed near the catapult strength one. And having a home plant from far away. It was nice that you could figure out the abilities without needing to go to the research table as well. Felt like it fit in well with the idea  you're like a florist scientist and can just observe how things are working. I think having there be different ways to collect plants spiced it up. Like when the research table told me that water plant could let me ride up the waterfall, I immediately went ohh I wanna go back and see what is up there! So those little puzzles livened the game up. I think the music loop was a little short for a game I wanted to spend time in to keep wandering around more. The plants  were pretty and the well sized map was just fun to go around in. Also the capybaras were  cute!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing our game and the full comment, I very much appreciate it, Yes i am very proud of the capybara, thats the only 3D model i made in the game after the artist taught me some 3D modeling tips (im the programmer). Thank you :>

A very good game. The flowers giving you different abilities is a very unique twist and using them to create puzzle scenarios is fun. The world was big but full of distinct areas that made navigation easier and more fun. The only issue I could see was the lack of a quit button in on the title screen. I had to tab out and close the game manually.

Developer

Thank you so much for the comment, yeah about the quit button, I originally plan to put this game for WebGL and it doesnt work and have forgotten to put a quit button on the main menu on the export TvT

Lovely theme and nicely executed 3D game!
