Wasn’t quite sure the difference between the red and white arrows and not too sure what the different building blocks do (and still not sure even after playing around with it), but really awesome art!! I do love the concept as well, just needs to be a bit better explained I think

How does your game fit the theme?
A scheming gargoyle keeps destroying statues every night, keeping our poor sculpor to keep repairing them every day. While the gargoyle keeps profiting.

Large scale pixel art is always impressive, the audio is spot on as well, I do think the game is very harshly balanced, a tutorial or something more interactive than a wall of text for a how to play section would make it a lot easier to learn. Good work!
Really like the art and the audio fits quite well. I think having a clearer indicator on what each platform allows you to do would be nice. Otherwise a cool entry!
I have to start with the graphics, the art is amazing, kudos to the artist! The idea is also cool, and definitely unique. I was a bit unsure what to buy at the start, so my feedback would be to disable buying before the first day.
This is a charming little game.
It is very unique, and well polished.
Good job!
:)
I would suggest 2 changes:
1) make it a bit more obvious during the day which statues need repairing - I know there's the night scene but it's easy to forget, and for a new player it can be easy to miss the differences between a broken and healthy statue; and
2) add a pause button.
The art is amazing and the concept is very unique
it took me a while to get the hang of it and perhaps is still very hard, but still very fun too! great game!!!
The artwork and audio are really good. I was just buying crates all the time and turns out it's a bad strategy. Really forces us to think ahead, considering that the stuff you put from previous night stays there.
I invested so much to this game, I enjoy it a lottttt. might as well be a full time sculptor after play this
This was super fun! I didn't expect to get so sucked in. I like how you have to think about your next move and how you added the 'bonus' gargoyle every round. Also, so well polished and beautiful. Really great work!
first of all, the pixel art is so amazing and professional??? secondly, gameplay is super unique - i don't think i've played another one like this in this jam. i love how its randomly about cleaning gargoyles :p a game with such cool vibes and is so polished! amazing work :-)
This game concept is so unique! It was so fun to play and I liked how the previous resources stayed for each level. The artwork is amazing, and super immersive! Awesome job :)
The statues looks charming in a way. Mechanics are quite fun, set up long term short term strategy with the ladders and boxes are fun in a sense. Though at one point it's not much church but like bunch of boxes and ladder stacked together :>
Thank you! At some point in the game, you are able to access every statue with the amount of scaffolds you have. We wanted to implement a mechanic which could destroy some of your scaffolds after day 10. However with the amount of time we had left, we've decided to polish the core gameplay instead.
Out of curiosity, how many days have you survived?
Not too long I believe, I was half asleep when playing it but I think I was doing quite fine (4 days or something, but my eyes were failing me so I did stop) so I think if someone with better focus would probably be able to last way longer. Though now that I am awake, I think some kinda consumable would be neat, like a one time rope that let you swing to a statue, or grappling hook so you can batman your way up :>
Those are some great ideas! We weren't really sure what else to add to the pool of blocks, but one-time use item's would be very good (i see the rope as a panic button here, might be more expensive but it does save your run in the short term). I will pass them onto the main developer of the game! Thank you for the great feedback :)
Also, i believe there was someone who got to day 32? They had a lucky run in the early game
absolutely gorgeous game dude, well done. just so so so visually stunning.
Instantly one of my favorite games out of this jam. Game feels intuitive, love how you can make varying decisions around what will help you in the short/long term, tons of room to be creative in how you set up around the tower due to unique properties of each block, and also, is a great interpretation of the theme. It doesn't hurt that the game is also exceptionally polished. Will definitely be coming back to this one to try and survive longer.
Fun game!
I like that the builds persist between days, but I do wish there was a life counter of some sort so I don’t instantly lose.
Had a good time!
If you find the time to, please check out our game as well!
loved the aesthetics, the pixel art was very beautiful and captured the vibe so well. and it was such a creative take on the theme. it was challenging enough, but also felt fair.
good job!
if you wana try out my game its here! https://aviv-youker-harel.itch.io/orbit-express
The art for this game is stunning!!! It took me a few tries to understand what was happening, but then I noticed the "how to play" button on the main menu which was very helpful. Maybe that menu could automatically open during the first gameplay loop to help new players? I love the idea and visuals very much! :)
