The controls and the atmosphere of that map is perfect, but sometimes it's difficult to understand what the player is supposed to do, I think you could add some hints here and there

It was an interesting game, I can certainly see what you were going for. Unfortunately I got stuck after a very loud enemy at the red button and could not figure out how to progress. Technical issues like not being able to fullscreen the game, sounds that were way too loud and shooting not aiming where I would expect, my main point of criticism is that it didn't feel like I was racing around the track, especially when it came to the boost and the purple walls. Boost is too short to feel like a boost, it feels more like a power mode you activate right before purple wall to destroy it and it doesn't speed you up that much. Also missing purple wall just stops you dead in your tracks making you awkwardly reverse and then try again, removing any kind of momentum of sense of urgency. It's possible that technical difficulties made it feel worse than the game, but still good work on finishing the game!

I played this on stream, here is the highlight in case you find watching first playthough useful:

Cool little car racing game. I got stuck at the "red button" and didn't know what to do.

I had some trouble aiming. Steering and drifting were nice !

I like this take on combat racing.  This was fun.  I would come back to this if it got an update.  Good job!

oml did the shoot sound  effect sound like it was gonna blow out my headphones, but the hovercraft feeling was cool

Interesting concept, I like the VFX when sprinting and shooting! However, the audio was really harsh and loud and I had to turn it down. I got a little lost but I still enjoyed the game, nice job!

When getting around the first lap, there was a white wall in front of the goal, and could not continue.. Not sure why. The sounds was just white noise and had to turn them off when it was so loud.

Good job in creating this in a few days.

The destructive in racing game is a cool concept, good game overall!

The actions in the first run making the second run easier sounds like a fun concept for a racing game. Dashing and shooting mechanic was nice for adding a bit of depth too.

Aside from the audio being too loud sometimes, and the bump + red square obstacle being unintuitive, I enjoyed it

Thanks for the feedback!  I definitely have some work to do when the jam is over.

Really cool idea having destructible environments in a racing game, would be cool to see how that could work in a multiplayer racing game!

Submitted(+1)

I like the way the spaceship feel, and the destruction animations are pretty cool!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice work on the visuals on this one! :) I felt a little dizzy playing it, not sure why: maybe was the lack of sense where the aim was, or the camera being recentralized when we move...

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I'll have to give the camera and weapon a bit of a rework.  I figured the laser sight would be well off on its own, but I was definitely wrong about that.

great game with lovely visuals , did find a bug where if you drive backwards and boost at the same time you can fly

please play and rate my game

Great concept and visual execution was nice, like others have mentioned making the sound tied to the 3D environment but having moments where the camera zooms in and getting blasted with loud noise caught me off guard a couple times.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  Audio is definitely something I need to work on more.  I hadn't noticed the disparity in sound until I published it.

The graphics are nice and I like the idea but the audio mixing reeeeeally needs work, it very much distracted from what otherwise was a cool racing concept. Camera could be a bit better too, but only had issue when backing up, neat work though.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!  I definitely have some more polish to give this game.

I had fun with this! After some more polish, this would be even better! Nice game!

Thank you for playing!  😁

This game is good but I would  have liked if when you respawn you respawn facing the way you need to go on the track

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!  I'll for sure have a fix for that once the rating period is over.

Great game! The shooting audio was a bit loud. The driving feels good

Developer

Thank you!  The audio is absolutely the first thing I have to fix.

I didn't always know what I was doing but I had a lot of fun anyway. Cool concept for a game and not really seen a racing game like this. There's definitely some room for improvement but the movement was pretty good too. Well done!

Thank you so much for playing!  I'll be diving in again to fix all these bugs and better communicate the mechanics for sure.

the game opened to big on my browser and I could see the whole screen not could I scale it down. But it worked well with a trackpad :D
