The game is on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2502400/Rhythm_Dodge/ (There you can also find links to Discord).

Congrats on reaching the top 100!

Thanks so much for the kind words! We’re really glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the twist. We had a lot of fun designing the game! At the start of the game, the AI comes up with a pancake order, and then repeats it every day to create a small loop and make the player question what’s going on.

The controls are listed on the itch page, though we understand not everyone checks there first. We’ll definitely make them clearer in-game next time.

We were working on background music but didn’t manage to finish it before the deadline. It might still make it into a future update.

And about the syrup and powdered sugar… we might add it.

Thanks for playing

Thanks for playing! You came for pancakes but found a mystery instead. Hope you enjoyed the surprise!

The art style is amazing, and the music fits the feel of the game! Wasn't sure what to expect from the game, but this one hit! Did the normall and hard modus, but the hard was a bit too hard for me. I will have to send it to my other dev (he makes a anti rhtyhm game).

Sometimes the key pressed registered twice for me, because the input checks on the key being held.

Overall amazing experience!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment! It means a lot to us that you gave the game multiple tries and stuck with it. We really wanted to mess with expectations. What starts as a chaotic cooking game slowly unravels into something a little stranger.

We know about the high sensitivity, and we were glad you found the option in the settings menu. The toggle to hold surely makes a big difference.

As for the scroll wheel, I checked it out and at first it seemed to work, but later in the game it broke. We will be fixing this in the next update after the jam.

Thanks again for playing and for diving into the mystery!

Thanks a lot! 😊 It can be a bit tricky at first, but we’re happy to hear you pushed through and enjoyed it! Did you get to the end?

── The Team 😼

Thanks! 😄 The camera sensitivity can be adjusted in the menu. We added a slider for it! You're definitely not alone in struggling, but glad you enjoyed the concept!

── The Team 😼

Haha Nice! Everything will work to take him out! Even pancakes. To get the player voluntarily out of the truck was hard, but the hard controls helpt xD (That's one we will fix after the jam)

Thanks for playing our game! The controls could have been better, but we also wanted a challenge for the player. The pancake baking is the same every day, so we wanted the player to give up on that and explore the mystery instead.

Thanks! The controls could be better for sure. This was the first project we fully relied on physics. Sadly the 4 days wasn't enough to polish the controls (the controls were even worse when we started), however we added a sensitivity slider that hopefully will improve the game. Did you uncover the pancake mystery?

I really like the concept of the game, and the levels provide a nice challenge. I did get a bit confused about the starting position of the loop, and I noticed that the number of allowed connection points varies between loops. One had a maximum of 4, another 8. It wasn’t immediately clear what the amount per ring was.

Thanks for playing! Did you manage to get to the end?

Thanks a lot for playing! You're definitely not the only one who got suspicious of those customers… 😅 And hey, discovering the other use for the pan really flips the whole thing around, doesn’t it?

── The Team 😼

Fun game. The hard reset after a level fail makes it hard to do the more complex levels. Would love to see an move or edit modus

Didn't expect the game to turn into a 2d/3d game. Was like nice crossyroad or should I say duckyroad xD. Good job, felt the invincibility was a bit short in the boss fight. The boss could damage me twice within a really short time.

Fair enough! Thanks for playing. Someone down there definitely still loves pancakes… no matter what. (maybe you should find out who)

── The Team 😼

Thanks a lot! We really focused on the visuals to give the game a unique vibe! Did you manage to find the ending?

── The Team 😼

Thanks for playing! Glad you uncovered the mystery!

── The Team 😼

Btw, there is a sensitivity slider in the settings menu (You can access it using tab).

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry to hear the physics gave you trouble. WebGL lag and motion blur can definitely make things feel a bit off. The pan has a mind of its own sometimes (we're suspicious too 👀). As for the customers, there is a counter where you can drop the plate. Only the customer who ordered can take that plate. I guess what happened is that your order failed, and the second customer checked the counter and found his plate.

Now… for the sake of the story: someone’s watching you. I noticed some cables leading to a strange place. If I were you, I’d probably follow them. 😉

Love the game, got stuck on the second level, and found the solution in the page description. I don't know if it's a bug or intended, but the first recording is at the end position when playing for the 3rd time.

Just found out about the Q thing now on 10, but I get hit from the side :/

Just managed to hit 6!

I'm so trash at this game, but I want to keep playing xD. Only managed to get a highscore of 5. Starting to find a strategy, but it will probr require a lot of trial and error. Love this small and simple game easy to learn hard to master!

The game looks nice, but I got stuck on the screen while fighting the cube. I don't know if I'm stupid (probably). Don't see a hp bar, and attacking it seems to do nothing.

Please remove made by 2 suckers on your main page. Calling yourself a sucker is bad. Making a game in 4 days is kinda hard. I don't know your experience making games, but you tried to make a game. Life has ups and downs, and this is a learning moment. Next year better! Try improving your skills in the meantime!

A good challenge is continuing to work on this! I would love to play it when its finished!

Let me say this first: I like the concept of the game, and it feels like a fun game to play. I like the way the ability system feels, but the game needs some changes to make it more enjoyable. First of all, increase the price of the cards. 1 coin is just really cheap, and I got "maxed" around wave 4 (a bit early, I guess). I got to a point where shooting was really fast, but the auto aim was just slow. If you improve these points, the game will be in a great state!

I don't know what I'm supposed to do? If you could explain it, that would be awesome! The game looks interesting!

Got to the 10 seconds part. Did 11 seconds in the late game. Cool game!

Daam, I feel disturbed. The fish eating sushi and your using the fish to create sushi to give them sushi to create sushi to give them sushi to create new sushi and to give them new sushi and then they eat the sushi and you create new sushi to give to them.

I like the fact that they get fat when eating too much sushi. Great game nice work!

I guess I finished the game at the exact moment the timer ran out.

It’s unclear where I can and can’t walk. When walking to the reactor, I hit an invisible collider. Approaching from a slightly different point lets me through. Would loved to see the full potential of the game!

I don't know if I played as intended, but I pre-jumped a few bits without the correct platforms, moved everything in place on time, and then finsihed it. Also got this nice bug. (The resolution on the web version could be better.) Nice concept!

Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed our weird little cooking game. There’s more going on beneath the surface than it might seem… 😉 We’ll definitely check out your game too

── The Team 😼

Nice game! Maybe increasing the timers on some levels. It was a bit annoying when pushing a box and needing to push it back to be able to push it again, but overall, I like the concept.

I like the fact that you first play the level and later on get the resources to collect everything for the boss battle. I wouldn't recommend forcing the player to take exactly 33 ice cubes with them (I missed one at the start and needed to go back). Nice game! (The transitions are awesome!)

Jup, the artist did an amazing job!

It's not a bird xD😂😂😂(The artist who created it is now sad) (A few people called it a bird). Just don't say what it is. 😊😊

Haha, doing this in VR would have been fun! 😂Glad you enjoyed the art and the chaos! feeding even two customers in that mess is an achievement! I hope he wasn’t hungry…  Maybe if you explore a bit more, you will find out who he is.

── The Team 😼

Thanks so much! 😄 We put a lot of love into it. Cooking can be tricky, and there’s a strange explosion happening every day somewhere… I’m not sure where, but it definitely feels like it could do some serious damage if you’re not careful!
