Love your game, I guess Groundhog day was an inspiration? :D
Good job on it!

It took me a while to figure this out, but it was well worth it! Great game!

Really nice little game! I liked it because it almost felt like a digital escape room :D great work!!

Developer

Thank you for playing! That's the type of feeling I was looking for in this game, glad I was able to covey it :)

Really cool short game, I enjoyed the twist at the end too! Great work!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you liked the twist :)

Very cool, love me an interactive narrative, and the environment staying the same is quite an attractive concept, though I feel the energy system more often than not impeded my desire to explore and made the game pretty repetitive. Overall, it felt worth getting through, and it'd be a really cool experience with some streamlining.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I thought of making the energy system so the player is forced to go to sleep and loop through the same day, helping the game stay within the theme. I plan on making the loops less tedious in the next update!

Very cool game, I liked the time loop idea! I couldn't quite figure what to do, but I liked the art, narrative and take on the theme.

Developer

Thank you for playing! What were you stuck on? Do you mean the thermostat puzzle?

Submitted(+1)

Nice Game! Maybe you could have cut down on the intro tho but im the just nitpicking there. Music would have really tied this whole thing together. I dont know how to solve this game tho. idk how to work a thermostat lol. But seems very cool

Developer

Thank you for playing! By intro do you mean the first two or three loops? If so, I do plan on making the second loop stand out more to make it less repetitive. I plan on adding background music after the voting period!

The thermostat is modeled after a real one, but it's simplified down for the puzzle. You have to set the temperature to the correct number and push in the correct set of bottom buttons. Interacting with the TV is the clue to finding out how to do the puzzle :) I recommend you try again after I update the game!

I really enjoyed this! The exploration and narrative were engaging, and the art was great. Super impressive for just 4 days of work!

A couple of notes for feedback:

- A bit of ambient audio or music in the background would go a long way - aside from the sfx, it felt a little empty at times.

- I think the second loop could’ve been the one where he realizes he’s stuck and starts experimenting - the identical repeat felt like an unnecessary choice.

- A main menu or even an in-game "exit" or "settings" toggle would be a nice addition to the UI.

- Finally, some way to regain energy or slightly speed up repeated actions would help with pacing. I get that the repetition is thematic, but it got a little tedious after a few loops.

Thanks for putting together a great little game!

Thank you for the honest feedback!

  1. I unfortunately ran out of time to add background music so that'll definitely be one of the things I do in the next update.
  2. I intentionally made the second loop similar to the first one to help solidify that the character is going through a time loop. It's also a nod at how dead-end jobs can feel like a loop to the point that they don't know they're living through the same day at first. I do understand that it was too identical to the first loop and I'll make changes to make it less so.
  3. Since I'll be adding background music, it'll be a good idea to add volume settings too, thanks for the suggestion!
  4. I'll definitely speed up the pacing in subsequent loops. I did think about adding a way to regain energy, but I decided against it in the end in favor of the player going through loops so it fit more with the theme.

I appreciate you taking the time to write this out!

You're welcome! I am glad the feedback was well received. You really have a great game. :)

Wow the art here is so good! You did this in 4 days?!?! Everything feels good too! It was an interesting take on the theme as well. Nice work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Developer

Thank you for the compliments! I'll check out your game soon!

Loved the concept and execution! Playing the same morning over and over to find the right sequence of moves makes for an interesting puzzle! That ending was crazy!

If possible, please consider rating my game too.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed my game and the ending!

That was short, sweet, and fun. I like the art style and the sfx were picked well. Definitely wished you could speed up actions after already going through them multiple times. Only bug I encountered was that the [REDACTED] closest to the bed will waste an action if you haven't interacted with the others first. Otherwise, great job, I liked it!

Developer

Thank you for the compliments! samelcamel did a great job picking the SFX for sure! I'll make going through repeat actions faster in the next update and fixing bugs. Thank you for playing!

The games idea is interesting. I like this types of games. The artwork and everything is amazing, I didn’t finish it but I will get back to it. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for trying out my game! I appreciate it a lot! Once the voting period is over, I'll be updating the game with bug fixes and taking into consideration everyone's feedback :) So make sure to try it out again once it rolls out! I think if you follow me, you'll get a notif for the update.

Awesome game! I like the concept of repeating steps in new loops after learning some information from old loops. The puzzles were indeed challenging, and the narrative was also enjoyable. I did encounter the bug you mentioned which cost me a few runs but I'm glad I was able to finish your game. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Outer Wilds was a large inspiration for some of the mechanics in this game. I apologize that the bug hindered your experience, but it will be fixed in the next update! Thank you for your persistence to complete the game, I appreciate it :D

I really liked the puzzles. Good job

I like the core mechanic of looping same day and puzzles was challenging but well done. Overall a good game!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad the puzzles gave you a good challenge!

Love it, reminds me of Ground Hog Day!

Developer

Love me some groundhog day puzzles! great job on the art too!

If you don't mind, please consider rating my game as well :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you enjoy the art :D I'll give your game a try soon!

Awesome work! Reminds me of those old "escape the room" games I used to play on Newgrounds. It was quite satisfying to solve the puzzle. I wish the cutscene of the player waking up could be skipped on later loops, but that's just a nitpick. Best of luck!

Developer

Thanks for the compliments! Glad the puzzle felt right :) I'll see about making the wake sequence in subsequent loops shorter in the next update!

Submitted(+1)

Great art style, but the gameplay is a little confusing... I wasn't able to solve the puzzle even after 15min (prob skill issue...)

Developer

Thanks for the compliment! I'm assuming you're talking about the thermostat puzzle. Here's a hint: Interact with the TV again and focus on the second screen. Hopefully the connection should click and you'll be able to figure out the puzzle :)
