very cool take on theme and some cute art! i think adding sound effects for buying obstacles and for when you don't have enough money would have been a nice touch. fun game overall!

The visuals were very cute and it’s definitely fun to make the level more complicated and difficult each lap. Overall a very nice entry!

A really great idea and execution both! The art is cute, the music is a vibe, and the decisions you need to make about difficulty vs. points felt balanced. good job!

Great concept! The idea of allowing player to create their own levels is really cool! the pixel art and small animations of the items are also very cute. I love it!

I love the concept and the execution! It fits the theme in a really unique way and was a lot of fun to make my way through. The balancing was a bit wonky for my taste but I’m sure this could become an amazing full fledged game in no time!

I like the idea of building your own obstacle course! To me it seemed like just putting down pairs of carrots was a little overpowered, while the upgrades actually made my life harder, so I think the game needs a bit more balancing. Still a pretty good start and nice artwork, too!

Cute game with great artwork. Makes me think of Hamtaro training for some escape mission.

I LOVE THIS. Ultimate Chicken Horse but as a highscore chasing roguelike? Sounds amazing and definitely should be made into a proper game.

Regarding it as a game jam game, I think the initial score requirement of 100 is way too high. I tried like 8 runs playing "normally", building tricky courses but still couldn't get 100 at all. Then I just thought about and spammed Spikes, and the game became trivial. I get that balancing is hard in a jam game, but good job overall.

I'm so glad to hear you liked it! A good way to increase your score is holding Right to move faster, Sorry if it isn't explained very well😅

Submitted(+1)

Ah, that was written on the game page, but yeah I didn't know that. Maybe a simple way to explain that to players is the total time you took to complete the course, becomes some form of multiplier.

A very fun and polished game! I love how creative I could be when making my own level. In fact we also made a platformer about changing a looping level, but in a slightly different way. Well done!

Aww nice one! Cute art and very cool idea. I'm probably sadistic as I build the hardest courses to my self and can't even finish it xD Love it.

Great game concept. I love games where you're actively sabotaging yourself, like loop hero.

Very solid and fun entry, great stuff

Really fun concept. Iiked it a lot. Had a few bugs trying to placed the obstacles, sometimes it just wouldn't let me select anything and I had to refresh the page to get it to work. Sorry I couldn't find out exactly what was causing it. But it didn't ruin my fun and I really enjoyed it. As others have said I think it would benefit from some easy tutorial levels easing the player in to the different choices. For instance I don't understand why you would ever use a carot rather than a spike, they seem the same to me but higher reward for the spike.

Really cool auto-runner. Never seen an auto-runner that lets you place your own obstacles!

I got a lot of Kirby vibes from this, especially on the game over screen. The concept here is pretty creative! It's a big game of risk and reward. Do you increase put more obstacles to get more money and increase your (evilness?) score faster? Or do you take it easier and risk not meeting the score? It's fun to see where to strike that balance.

Developer

That's great to hear as a big Kirby fan! This is rick the hamster's cousin. I hope you found a comfortable balance between evilness and fun!

Such a creative game! It took me a while to figure it out, but I cheesed my way past the levels (long live the spike row). This is so polished, in so many departements it's crazy.  The only feedback is that it's a pretty complicated game, for such a cute concept. There are too many choices and options at the start, I would suggest just giving spikes and springs, and adding more stuff the further you get.
That beside, this was amazing, thank you for this game :)

There is no point system, it needs to be improved. It is difficult to earn money in the game. I actually played a few rounds. The graphics are nice, the background music is harmonious, but the game dynamics are a bit complicated.

Developer

Howdy, thanks for playing our game! Could you elaborate on what you mean by the lack of point system? At the end of each lap you earn income in both the form of points and money for each obstacle on your track. Apologies if we didn't convey that clear enough! We appreciate the feedback

very fun, and a really cool take on the theme! Love the artwork as well :D

Very nice spin on the theme, and great artwork! I found that just placing cabbages in a long line might be a game breaker though. Very fun game!

Developer(+1)

A very nice "spin"...? I see what you did there! And yes the cabbage meta is crazy, but I'm glad you had fun with it

Submitted(+1)

Really fun and addicting even if I couldn't win! I wasn't expecting a "build-your-own-runner" for this jam, but the idea is perfect for "loop."

Developer(+1)

Don't worry, there's no "win" screen, it's just about challenging yourself to get as far as you can and having fun, which I'm happy you did!

This feels very much inspired by Ultimate Chicken Horse, but you are on your own, with a score to beat, with free reign and an incentive to get better! Which is definitely on-theme and making it a hamster looping in their wheel doubles down on it!!

I like this a lot because it feels like you’re gaming yourself and double-checking if I have the confidence to complete what I built, considering taking risks just to get a bit more money or a bit more of a multiplier.

To be honest I thought kick jump meant automatically kicking when jumping and has been unfortunately a folly of a very good run consisting of nothing but spikes…

Adorable art, very complete, definitely can be a LOT more! I DO want to play more! Maybe it can be turned into a full game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The goal with the game was definitely to encourage players to take risks and carefully add more challenge for greater rewards, sort of a build-your-own-demise situation where knowing your limits is important, so I'm glad that you resonated with it and think that it has potential! Sorry if we weren't clear about what the kick upgrades do, we ran out of time before we could think of a solution to that ;_: But thanks for sharing your experience it makes us so happy to hear!
