Game Description
In this short arcade game, you play as a big sea serpent. Devour the sailors and destroy their ships as they come and go. Will you succeed in catching your lunch?
How does your game tie into the theme?
The serpent consumes the sailors. Another tie to the theme is at the end when you die, but we won't spoil that for you...

this game got robbed
Good job with #7 overall! It was the most fun one I’ve played
What a great game, I'm happy that I played it before the end of the jam. Everything looks so fluid and cohesive. If the game had a simple upgrade system, like turning speed, damage, mouth size, etc, I would play it for hours
Really liked this one, though I'm not very good at it. The interactive menu was a very nice touch. Well done!
I loved everything !!! The concept, the polish, the art, the gameplay, and so on. Congratulations :)
The most fun I had in a while. The Wilhelm-screams were *chef's kiss*
I managed to beat it after a few tries with a score of 59530. The last ship was pretty tough to beat, and it even took me down to 1 HP at some point.
Loved this! Super polished, and the gameplay is really funny and chaotic! Amazing work :)
Incredible submission, really polished and fun gameplay experience, fantastic art. All the gameplay mechanics work so well together, paired with the combo system and QoL UI stuff like the red enemy indicators at the top of the screen it makes for a really fun experience. Really well done, this game deserves all the accolades!
Very thoughtful review. Thank you so much!
Really nice sound effects I must say. It's really fun though it's really hard to die in this game. I haven't played it much (I played endless for quite some time and the arcade mode up until I reached the congratulations screen. There could definitely be a faster difficulty progression, at least in endless mode.
Also while I was playing I noticed bubbles coming out of the sinking ships and I think it could be a cool idea if those bubbles from the wreckage could help you accelerate up if you position yourself below it and look up. Just an idea though!
I like the detail where the music changes when underwater. Also I have to mention this again: The sounds are really good, especially the ship getting destroyed. The art is also good (would be cool if you had a optional dark mode appearance, but that's probably not a priority for a 10 day game jam lol).
Conclusion: This is a really well done game!
Thanks for trying it out! And good ideas, we'll consider adding them :)
Excellent feedback, thank you for those detailed notes and ideas for improvement!
We really struggled to set the difficulty correctly for the jam. Some of our players found it prohibitively difficult while others such as yourself found it a cakewalk!
I think it’s a lesson for me to try to be a bit more inclusive and make a plan for at least a couple difficulty modes (at least when doing an arcade game) so that everyone can get a chance to give it a go without feeling frustrated.
Thanks for the notes again!
This one. Out of the almost 30 games I tried I hope this one wins.
- Very polished presentation
- Love the pixelart and strong cohesive palette choice
- Great physics both in and out of water
- Gives me lunchbreak flash games flashback tinted with nostalgia. Had to go back and play Dolphin Olympics 2 to confirm this controls even better
This reminds me of Rampage but plays even better. In Rampage when you're done blowing up an area of the map you have to go to the next one and it's boring and lame as not much is happening for a bit. Here the map comes to you and that little change is genius.
My favorite thing of all is the immersive menu that also serves as a tutorial.
I normally like to try to give suggestion and critique here but the only thing I can think of is I wish you could ingame remap controls so that speaks about how complete the package already is.
Respect.
Thanks so much for the nice comment!! :) Glad you enjoyed
I’m going to try to spend some time on accessibility features on our next jam thanks to your (and other) comments!
An interesting and surprisingly hard game! Reminds me of Hungry Shark.
Thank you for playing! :)
This rules!
Thank you! :)
You rule!
Lots of fun. took me a minute to get the swimming down, but great visually and audio was spot on. Fun to play.
Thanks! :)
Absolutely fantastic game! Really hit it out of the park. I cant think of any way I would improve things except that the music loop is a bit jarring in the way it goes from the end back to the beginning.
I love how you have one basic concept, move with left and right, and everything revolves around that. I also love how you've managed to use your extra features (bouncing off boats, eating people, firing) to create as much dynamic and emergent gameplay as possible. You're giving an incredible amount of ability for such a limited amount of time.
So far this is the best one I've played!
Thanks for playing!! :)
Great game! Reminds me of that old game called Death Worm although I thought it was called Giant Worm at one point. Anyways, this was fun and I had a good time taking care of sea-men (sea-people?). There were a few lag spikes here and there which I think a platform build would help. I think it has to do with the loading of the particles effects. One could try firstly instantiating and starting the particle effect way off the map and stopping it after it finishes a few passes. It can be put above the level node (or even an autoload) so it only needs to be done once. GJ!
Thanks for playing! And thanks for the suggestion, we should hopefully fix the performance issues after the jam :)
I think this is my favorites so far. Just a very fun and satifying game to play. The little point system on the left is a nice addition, and it just feels really good to build up combos, especially in endless mode. Fantastic Job!!
So glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you for plyaing! :)
Really fun game! Love the unique controls, combos, graphics, sounds, and level of polish this game has. Well done!
Thank you! :)
Very good, fun to bounce of ships and guzzle up a bunch of people in a row.
Totally, I agree! Thanks for playing! :)
Awesome level of polish in the art, good job on the entry!
Thanks! :)
I like this game a lot but I think I'm just bad at it lol. A chill mode where you have more health or infinite health would do numbers. But as is, it's great. Solid music, solid and consistent visual style, unique and satisfying gameplay. Just a great jam game all around.
That was the idea! But after a few tweaks we decided it was probably easy enough that it didn't need it. Seeing this, I think I'll change that after the jam :) Thanks for playing!
