Fun little game after getting the hang of it, didn't realize the food was used for a while but figured it out eventually, The Ui was a bit hard to look at there's a lot going on so was hard to get the hang of the controls at first, but was fun after I got used to it.
Thanks. A tutorial will be added after the jam, and we are working on improving the UI.
The controls were a little difficult for me to get a hang of, but I love the idea and the atmosphere (including the dragon of course!)
Thanks. We try to fit a dragon in somewhere in each game. Having him play the electric guitar started as a joke while we were picking music.
Loved the polish on this! Some tooltips over the different items you can buy in the store would be nice.
Thanks. The UI was an area we struggled to get into shape. The extra day really helped, but we wanted to do a lot more. We plan to add more info on the shop and inventory screens.
I think you should work on simplifying the controls and making it a little easier to play. I can see potential in the gameplay itself, but I struggled with the controls. That said, you've got a good fencing mechanic! Good job!
Thanks. We have a tutorial ready for after the jam to help explain how things work. We will see how we can adjust things to make everything more clear.
awesome game, It took me some time to understand what I was supposed to do, but once I did the game got pretty easy. Also, I trapped myself a bunch of times, and didn't know I could jump the fence, so I restarted, haha
Thanks. Yeah, jumping can be pretty necessary depending on how you place fences. It will be in the tutorial after the Jam.
Love the game and everything in it. I will say that the only thing I felt was missing was a way to remove fences you accidently placed down but other than that it was really fun.
Thanks. Removing posts is on the to-do list.
As a composer I quite liked the music, even the distorted guitars that came ouf of nowhere were quite cool :)
The animals are really cute and it does make you want to spend more time with them. I suffered at the beginning with the controllers and all the elements but overall I truly think is quite an original idea! Congrats :)
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed. The music was inspired by the theme.
Very cute, although I made some terribly disorganized fences along the way! Would love to get either more free interactions with the animals or more visual indicators of their interactions, so that I could get a better sense of the differences between each type. Looking forward to seeing your expanded content!
Thanks. Building crazy fences can be fun. We are thinking of adding a sandbox mode just for playing with them. The animal feedback systems do need expanding and will be worked on in the future.
Fun game! I really like the fence building mechanic and it's really satisfying to trap a bunch of them at once. I love the rocking dragon on the guitar, he's the best. Great work!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed. It was fun watching you play. It helped get a feel for how other people look at our game.
Really nice looking, love the rocking unicorn!
Thanks. The guitar player is meant to be a dragon. There actually is a unicorn as well. It just did not make it into the this release.
Really nice looking, love the rocking unicorn!
This one is fun, but I didn't get how to use the shed, maybe it was automatic, but still I had fun!
Glad you enjoyed.
The shed will be more important as we add in the additional fence types. Different animals will need different fences. Not everything will fit on your truck, so you will be storing extra stuff in the shed. For now you start with some free materials in the shed that you can transfer on the inventory page.
This is an amazing game, and I can't believe this was done in one week!
I noticed that you can press and hold 'Esc' to restart the level and I am blown away that such attention to detail was done. Like seriously, hats off.
As for the game, it is pretty fun. The game does have a steep learning curve tho because of the options and no easy to way to understand what all needs to be brought for what animal. Some text would be good for future.
Good luck!
Thanks. The extra day really helped us polish things up.
The tutorial did not make it in for the Jam, but is ready for our post Jam update. The Help page has basic controls and a few tips listed as a compromise, but it was a bit rushed. The animals and food aren't as clear because they are still a work in progress. We definitely need a better system for teaching how they work as we flesh out the functionality.
Glad you enjoyed.
This is a neat and very charming game, and I really enjoy the music! The store and inventory were quite overwhelming at first, but didn't get in the way of me having a fun time.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed.
good game, controls are good, but there's no hint for the food preference for the each animal.it was fun to play.
Thanks. That's a good idea. We will see about adding something in-game to help with animal food prefs.
This is a fun idea. Once I played one round and pressed the buttons a few times, it became clear what I would need to do. Something like a tutorial would have cleared that up. It was kinda jarring to be told I needed more of a resource that I did not know how it would be usable, so I just bought three of everything, played my first round, and realized I couldn't fence anything in. From there, it made more sense. The sheer number of things you put on the screen in the shop also set me aback. I'm sure the loadout would have been helpful if I played more and for longer, but just diving into it seemed overwhelming. It might have made more sense to have the first (tutorial) round before the shop with an endless number of fencing, which is then changed to a limitation, so the player can play around and learn. Otherwise, I'm impressed with how fluidly the fence-building mechanic came out! I liked making crazy shapes with it.
Thanks for the feedback. The tutorial did not get finished in time, but is being worked on. We will be sure to include something on the shop screen to make sure the player has enough fencing supplies.
Nice game and fits with a theme. It took me multiple games to understand why I could not build fences over certain amount, but after that it was pretty fun.
Thanks. We will work on making the limit clearer.
Nice game! It lives up to the chaos theme. Is there a way to pick up fences once you've placed them?
Thanks. There is not currently a way to remove fences, but I have thought about it myself as we play tested and it will probably get added in a future update.
I love how well the music matches the animations and mood. Fun game. Took me a second to figure out the controls.
Thanks. We are very happy with how well it blended. Glad to see others liking it too.
Loved the hectic energy. Really great job capturing the theme of the jam.
Thanks.
