had a probelm trying to make the game start, but managed to play the game and found the games artstyle and vibes to be very pleasant. could use a b1t more polish and game juice as I found the gameplay to be a b1t rough...

not a fan of big pixels though, kinda wished u found a better way to do zooms, without enlarging pixels.

đź‘€What a trip. Great music!

I really really loved everything about this! The music was banging and hit spot on for the vibe of the art/gameplay. Gameplay was chaotic but had an interesting twist on bullet hell patterns. Aboveall I really like the camerawork and atmosphere you created!

The music is super strong and fits really well, and the mechanics feel great too. I had a lot of fun!!!

Developer

Thanks for the positive feedback!

The music is epic and those transitions, zoom-ins and animations got me chuckling, caught me off guard for sure. Honestly that was the best part. Gameplay was pretty nice, maybe could use some more difficult tracks later on. Only thing — had a weird bug where I couldn’t click start at first, had to back out and re-enter to get it working.

Developer

zoom-ins and animations got me chuckling Same! glad it got some laughs

maybe could use some more difficult tracks later on Agreed. We had some neat ideas for bullet patterns but they just didn’t make it in in time.

Thanks for playing and for the nice comments!

Someone else ran into this as well. I think it may have something to do with the web export. FWIW, it’s just a standard Godot button control. Good to know for next time.

Really good take on the theme. Not a bullet hell enjoyer (and i have a terrible rythm) but i had fun and felt i was in the zone for some part. The goofy zooms are really cool ! Congrats !

Developer

Yay! We made a decision to remove “health” and just subtract score multiplier so it would be more fun for non-bullet-hell-enjoyers. Thanks for playing!

By now the best fit for the theme in my opinion! Overall, very good work! Just becomes repetitive quite fast, but still loads of fun :)

I dont see many bullet hell games in jams, I'm usually not too great at them but I managed to *beat* the game. ;)

I liked the screen transitions & music, points you could improve :

- fullscreen had some whack with it, just have us use the native button itch provides that usually works way nicer.

- keybind labels are incorrect on azerty I had to use ZQSD.

- song volume between intro & game itself were very very different. try balancing those.

I think adding in more songs / levels ( you can pick from ) and polishing out the black & white shifting mechanic would do wonders in this game.

Developer

Thanks for streaming and the thoughtful feedback!

  • I tried embedding instead of full screen w/ the optional “full screen” button itch provides but it ended up cutting the game off for me. I’ll play around with this some more. The web export in general has been a little jank for me.
  • Will update keybinds for non-US layouts.
  • I’ve got a patch ready for adjusting the volume (and compression levels) of the music.

Thanks again!

For some reason I couldn't start it< bur art style was great ngl.

Developer(+1)

Aw there was a bit jank we noticed when the build got exported to web so I suspect that is the issue. Thanks for taking the time to check it out though!

I love this game, the vibe is awesome and there's a certain charm to it! Great work! :D

That was fun, and confusing as heck. Really challenged my concentration. I love the beat and the choice of colors too

It has some strangely psychedelic feel I really dig ! I love the overall style, artworks and the music.

Small complain about gameplay, you can mainly dodge obstacles and not use the polarity mechanic sometimes, that could be a lil more engaging in my opinion.

PS : RIBBIT ! RIBBIT !

Developer(+1)

Hard agree, it pained me to release without more required polarity mechanics! I hope we can add some fun things in the future. Thanks for taking the time to play and review!

this is a huge top contendor for my favorite game in the whole jam! i love the aesthetic and music so much. the silly, strange art is right up my alley lol

Developer

Whoa that’s a huge compliment - thank you!! We had so much fun with the art and music we almost didn’t finish the actual game :D

would you be open to linking up on discord/telegram? my username is yikole on both

This is so cool! My brain couldn't comprehend the color changing, so I just dodged everything. Very fun

Super fun! Loved the song too, very catchy!

This one really uses the theme in a cool way. Love the colour shifting as a mechanic! The art is really nice too, felt like I was trippin' at times but I think you've done a good job of making the projectiles that hurt you pop more than the ones that don't. The music is awesome too - great work! I'd maybe like it to seem a little less random and a bit more pattern based.

Developer

Thank you!!! Agree about more patterns > randomness.

Now, I don’t want you to be intimidated, but my high score is six.
