This is great. I really like the Papers Please gameplay and this is a good take on it. At first I failed miserably on the first day and couldn't figure out what I was doing. All the documents were the the future. Then I realized there was a calendar in the game and not using the real world time... I am a dumbass. Replayed and it made it through the end having a great time. I signed my soul away but I am only a C- level employee so it's their loss really.

Game Description
You're just a regular worker at a normal office. Nothing strange here. You saw someone being dragged away screaming? Just Samantha from accounting playing one of her usual pranks. A satanic blood-letting ritual? That's just the water cooler. You have papers to file so enough with this nonsense. Work hard and climb up the corporate ladder to in Happy Trail Inc's very first project together for Godot Wild Jam #78. Complete with 5 Different Endings!
How does your game tie into the theme?
In the game, you are erasing weird markings, burning evidence of wrongdoing, and shredding documents. This also explores erasure of identity in the workplace.

Usually I don't like this type of games, but this one got me hooked for the time beeing.
I found the art interesting, the story intriguing und by god, the sounddesign made me stamp every single document just for the fun of it!
Everything still got properly disposed of... of course!
I absolutely love this game, it gives me "That's not my Neighbour" vibes! It was extremely fun to speedrun it XDIt's also funny how the game gets easier as you play. Lastly, the story was really intriguing!
Anyways, you made an exceptional job!
Approved! In terms of the game, I don’t have anything to add, I loved it! Maybe that I was expecting the flesh paper to be fleshier, like the necronomicon in evil dead but it was still very clear. An ultra minor technical thing is the end screen isn’t centered but anchored left. I have a dumb ultrawide monitor that I hate because so many things work goofy, esp jams. Also appreciate not using the willhem scream for the shredder ending.
Thanks for playing!! I love the idea of making a necronomicon. That was brought up in our initial design discussions but we ended up not having much time to work on the living paper assets. I really wanted to fix the end screen being anchored left but simply ran out of time oof
Also no hate for the ultrawide! I have one myself, we've been through ups and downs, and I have grown to love it. Sure things work goofy sometimes but I like to be able to have multiple things on the same screen, or all the space in the world for Godot :)
A lot of good bad things going on here! Not my go-to game genre, but I appreciate the effort you put into this game, and the dark twist, which made it more interesting.
Super fun game! Hell is pretty funky. I was able to get 3 endings but I couldn't find the last 2. I thought there might have been one for feeding the shredder human flesh a bunch but there wasn't :(
Great job!!
Cool game. I really like the take on Papers Please, and the story was pretty interesting. Everything worked really smoothly and I didn’t experience any issues. The art was really cool and I like how the environment changed as the days went on. Especially the small details like the Approve stamp turning red.
One thing I’m gonna say, is no one told me I cant approve a living document, idk who my manager is, but that was a 100% a valid permit. :p
Nice work!
Really like the writing, really funny hearing barb give corporate briefings about human flesh hahha Had a good job papers-pleasing it up. I would have liked to see the rules expand and change but I’m sure that was the plan and just limited by time. One element from Papers, Please that would have been fun to see twisted is the larger moral questions, could be really funny to subvert those emotionally driven decisions, you t it up the same way but even when the player makes the a morally correct decision someone gets eaten anyway, for example. Great game really fun tone.
Love the idea about forcing the player to make larger moral choices.
My spin on that - What if we made each day a set time (e.g. 3 minutes), and the more papers you process, the more of your coworkers are laid off. Could imagine funny quips from Barb congratulating you on your performance and then offhandedly mentioning mass layoffs. This is similar to Papers, Please where your performance by the day directly correlates to whether you're able to pay for food/shelter/medicine for your family. I would love to see choices the player makes affect the gameplay and narrative in more substantive ways.
Awesome game! Love the multiple endings! Great spin on "Papers Please" (or at least that's what it reminded me of). Cool shift in tone at the end... Good job for a first time jam.
I really liked the "That's not my Neighbor" vibe and style, also quite nice having multiple endings on a jam game, pretty fun. We kinda had a similar idea for the jam, you definitely brought a better execution.
Very nice game, I really enjoyed the parody of corporate hell and the humor.
I liked the office art and sound, very original too!
