Challenging platformer. I included it in my Wowie Jam 2.0 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Thank you! :)

Very Fun, good control. Simple and efficiant I like it a lot.

It didn't feel too great to be limited by such a low jump, but I think there is a lot of fun to be had if you get used to it, but also I found that I got the game to the point where it became unplayable due to what I shot. If there were secret hidden no-collision walls, they were not telegraphed so, not sure what to look for. For the sake of learning experience, I'd say it's never a good idea to put your player in a position that they feel locked down so, if you have alternatives, there has to be a way from them to be prepared what to look for at the beginning of the game, perhaps some very subtle sparks of flickering of bugged areas?

Developer(+1)

The secret walls were meant to be secret. So you would find them on accident. And yea sometimes you had to shoot some boxes and not shoot others. The bugged areas idea is good! I might do that. In this case the player has to feel locked down because they are trying to escape a sludge factory...

Ok, good thoughts - I will just add that consider that there is a difference between feeling trapped and feeling like the game isn't letting you do anything. It is not easy to find the balance, but it can be done! :)

It took me some time to get used to the slippery controls, but than it was good. The player always holding the AK in the right "hand" is a nice attention to detail. (in front of the player when looking right and behind when looking left)

Developer(+1)

Yup, thanks! It's such an easy thing to do and makes it feel a little bit more real even if its just a black cube.

The controls feel extremely nice in my opinion and the shooting has some impact behind it. Good job :D

Developer

Thanks!

I love the challenge 10/10

Submitted(+1)

Damn! That was challenging!

Controls could be fine tuned, but if that's the challenge, then it's fine.

:D

Developer

Well i built the levels around the jump, so i can't really change it.

I like this game very much, it is very fun. I would only adjust the jumps a bit since they don't feel very natural. Great game!

Good game :D. but it could use better controls as the jump feels very unresponsive. other then that its an alright game. :DDDD

if you would like to test my game:

Developer(+1)

Yea the jump sometimes doesn't work because the animation makes the player go a little bit above ground and when hes above ground he cant jump :/

I must be a little rusty lol, took me like 20 tries to get past that first jump section with the lava haha.  Fun and challenging for sure!  I like the look of the game with the fixed wide camera too.  Perhaps add a bit more linear drag/friction on your player character or lower deceleration, feels a bit slippery like walking on ice.  But maybe that's intended, but many think slippery controls are taboo haha.  If you make it look like it's a snow world that would sell the feel for sure too.  Great job making a cool platformer game!  Please check out mine if you have time.

Some more checkpoints would be nice, but nice controls, feel snappy and sharp. Had a good experience ;-)

I thought my "W" key was dying :(
Also, I liked the little tune you had but didn't like the moments of silence.

Otherwise a nice little game :)

Developer

Yea you really gotta spam W :D and thanks my music skills are 0 but i tried. I dont think there was silence in the song, maybe it was too quiet.

Neat platformer game!

my main complaint is that the movement is not that tight and so seemingly easy jumping parts are very difficult. I think the easiest fix is to increase the deacceleration and acceleration of the player, this will make the game less momentum based tho, but alot tighter to control. Also sometimes the jump button didn't seem to trigger and at other times I couldn't double jump.

Developer

Thanks for the review. For me personally the movement wasn't a problem, but i will try out making it snappier

Submitted(+1)

The movement was a bit hard for me to learn, but I liked the simple design and the sounds. Nice one

Submitted(+1)

FUN GAME! Tho the movement was not that tight, the player is a bit heavy altho moving left and right is smooth so sort of un cosistent but overall fun game to play would love to see more :D

Fun game! The jump feels nice to control, which is good in a platformer :p Nice job!

Great game!

Good movement, but sometimes the jump didn't activate when it should've.

Other than that, good music and fun gameplay!

Keep up the great work!

The game was really fun to play but, i was a little confused on level 3 and i felt like the jump dident respond every time. Really fits the theme. Good job.

Developer

Thank you for your review! For me the jump felt good, but i will check it
