Why have that menu open when you die? Just have a reset button instead, same for that menu when you win. Just go to the next level. No need to drag that out.

I'm also not sure when the block flattens when you die vs when it is supposed to stay upright. I'm guessing it should only stay upright if it is against a wall but I've also seen it happen when there was nothing close by that would prevent it from becoming flatter.

Some really nice colors. I appreciate the simple colors and the intricacy of dying standing or lying down. The menu for every time I died was a bit much. Quick suggestion  for the color blind concern in another comment, try utilizing patterns or textures, like stripes or polkadots, to help differentiate the water from the level. Fun game :) Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and the textures idea. :)

Simple but fun, controls and the dying was good, as they weren't buggy at all. By the way are the sounds from portal by any chance?

Developer

Yes, the sounds are from Portal.

Nice but I think after two levels you have actually seen everything possible. Solid submission tho.

Nice game! Although making piles  of dead bodies to fill the liquid sometimes felt a bit too repetitive, the overall gameplay was still great fun!

I would have liked to be able to jump using spacebar.  Now all buttons that were used were kind of close together, so sometimes I accidentally killed my character instead of jumping.
And a lot of times I did not jump because I was desperately pressing space bar ;)

You made a fun puzzle platformer, well done!

Submitted(+1)

I love a good puzzle platformer!

I couldn't help but notice that the button sounds are from Portal though. They fit in fine with the game, but I'm a bit concerned about the whole legality aspect of it. That's just a very, very minor nitpick though.

Great job! I'd love to see more levels for this!

I like the simplistic visuals, and the sounds are really well implemented. It gets a little bit repetitive though, as some people have pointed out.

Another thing, I'm colorblind, and the liquid is practically invisible for me. I always jumped down pits thinking they were just empty and died lol.

Good job on your submission!

Developer(+1)

Thank for pointing out another potential issue I haven't thought of.

Let's see what can I do about making the liquid more visible. Would making it less transparent work or do I have to change the shade of it? What's your type of colour blindness?

Anyway I'm glad you like the game

Submitted(+1)

I think it just needs a little bit more contrast. But I'm no representation of everyone who's colorblind lol, my colorblindness is pretty mild. I'm red-green colorblind btw, Protan colorblindness.

Pretty nice and simple concept, controls feel very smooth

Visuals are simple but stylish and effective

I got a little frustrated on the level with a button on a ceiling hanging over a corrosive fluid pool when I was stacking corpses for quite a while, but then accidentally blocked myself from reaching the button and had to restart from scratch :D

Great game!

Great color scheme, simple artstyle.

Some levels aren't that fun because they require long and repetitive action (the level with a corrosive fluid where you have to stack corpses until you can jump on them to cross the pool).

Submitted(+1)

Neat concept! I always like the idea of using the player's corpses as stepping stones and weights to hold down buttons. I kinda feel like having a suicide button makes the puzzles too easy and repetitive, though, especially if you can have an infinite number of corpses. Perhaps you may consider adding spikes, turrets, or other hazards that can kill you so you have to find a creative way to die on top of the buttons. Maybe you can also push corpses around to better utilize them as stepping stones. Idk, there's a lot of ways you can take this concept.

Also, I think the game would flow a lot better if you didn't have to press a button to respawn and instead just have the player immediately respawn upon dying.

Nice game! Well polished and I liked the sound effects. Crossing the corrosive liquid was pretty annoying. Maybe would've been better if the body could float or something. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

Nice, I really like the concept :)

Nice game!

The only thing is the water parts required so many blocks to actually create a usable, above water, platform.

Sometimes it felt more like a chore, rather than a game.

But besides that, it's a good creative game and it was well done.

Good job!

A fun game with a nice controlling character and art style, kinda reminded me of portal. Good Job :)

Too many bodies are needed sometimes. Killing your character is annoying because of extra button press. It seems like whole game could do without following jam's topic and it would be better.

Color scheme is nice, and so is the plot. Fantasy fills in details

Nice Game!

Sometimes  i think you need to many bodys to clear the level. ;-)

Very good game. I liked the simplistic graphics. Some things that I would change would be having the respawn button be a different button than the suicide button, because sometimes I would press "E" too many times. Other than that it's a very solid game 7/10

Submitted(+1)

nice mechanic, but definitely needs a bit more playtesting: because of how you need to press an extra button to respawn, and respawn not where you died but at the beginning, the game is a bit tedious.

the movements are very smooth though, and also the aesthetic is super nice, keep up the good work!

Submitted(+1)

Well done and good interpretation of the theme. Also, I second what vgel below me said :)
Stay funky,
Dez

Its very fun, but the puzzles could be a little harder if you would have a limitaed amount of corpses. Besides, is this the door sound from Portal? It seemed pretty familiar.

Developer(+1)

Yes, the door and button sounds are from Portal.  😀

I am going to improve the levels and add body limit and some other stuff in next updates.

You can check the game's Trello board to see what I or other people have come up with.
