The dialogue and storyline is very intriguing. The graphics are simple but clean and the music is fun to listen to and fits the theme of the game. Great interpretation of the theme and interesting mechanic. Very polished, well-thought, and uplifting game! I hope the story will only expand after the jam, this is a very interesting idea.

Simple but creative, and very relatable. Good job! :)

Simple, but the story is well done and ties into the theme perfectly. I think you've got a video game career ahead of you, don't give up!

That was an enjoyable journey. Good job!

somehow this is too relatable. a bit more interaction would have been nice - maybe you have to do some puzzles with the story to build the level - so it feels as if the developer and David have more of a bond  and interacts more with the player - just an idea

Hi! I've put together a list of my top games from the jam and before I post them on the community section, I'm just checking that you are okay having your game's link on the list?

Developer

Yep, totally! Go ahead! :)

Very interesting game, it felt like watching a movie

Maybe a bit more interactivity would be nice, but on the other hand this way it's pretty unique

I would love to see it go further on and things become more and more complex gradually, maybe even adding more controls as the game progresses

Great work!

Played this game with a smile on my face from start to finish, enjoyed the humour a lot. It's not a game game but that doesn't matter the journey it takes you on is so much better.

I appreciated the story, the metaphors were well thought.

But I don't feel like you took advantage of the the video game medium, which is interractivity.
I'm a huge fan of story games (idk if it's because I'm a writer or because I have no skill) but I feel like if you can have the same experience by doing little to nothing, there's a problem.
Even walking sim like What remains of Edit Finch or The Beginner's Guide take advantage of the interractivity, you don't just walk, you explore, you look around, even starting cutscenes if your action.
Here, the text is already there, the only point of moving is to move further, and I don't feel like this would be any different to press a "next" button.

Wow, this really opened my eyes to a bigger picture. I was thinking about remaking my game to be "better" so I'll take your criticism on board while I do it (if I do it). Your piece of feedback is the best feedback that I've gotten so far. So thank you so much :)

Big Thomas was alone vibes but the game still feels like your own. The writing and narrative was good. The music was nice as well. It sends a good message in the end but I feel it could have done with more gameplay. Still, a good game none the less. Music was great as well

yoo the writing here is interesting it really reminds me of that blackthorn's game about a creator that tried to kill his protagonist really same vibe. Nice work pal! Is there a chance you could also review my game? Cheers!

A nice surreal experience. An enjoyable game

This was pretty good! It's not the most creative or groundbreaking game but I don't think I would change a thing about it! I would just expand on it a whole lot more and take the concept further!

First time hearing a piece from Scott Buckley. I have listened a couple more of his work. Amazing stuff.

Game is pretty charming too, a bit dramatic for my taste but it was a good journey :)

Keep up the good work!

Okay don't tell the others but this is probably my favorite entry so far. Thoroughly charming. Great job!

The narrative worked really well and was a nice way to incorporate the theme, it might have been nice to use the same idea in terms of gameplay (eg "failure is fine" would come after landing on spikes or something like that.) The range of different graphical elements were also a nice touch considering the narrative as well as the animations ins some of the levels really helped to make the game feel more alive. There were some nice touches of polish too like the fading scene transitions and the way in which the credits start at the end.

The narrative was quite inspirational, however on a gameplay level I feel like there could maybe be more to do, even if its something like collectible or some more platforming with dynamic platforms. Some sound effects would have also added to the experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing and I would definitely recommend playing this game: has the best narrative use so far that I've seen!

The font and music choice was on point for a story based game,  the only feedback i have is that i feel like the game is short(understandable since it is a jam game), and a more interactive enviroment would be great so the player will feel more satisfied when they reached the end of the story(like obstacles in every scene, like the parkour one), other than that, a great message for all of us that failing never stray us away from success

Yeah, I made levels 4-13 on the last day which is why they are a little rushed.
