An astonishing game. I remember seeing discussions about "what if there was an ACE Touhou fangame" a couple times or five. And here we have a pretty good idea~
Everything feels right: controls really easy to handle, good-looking enough, the audio feedbacks are on point.
Maybe it lacks ambient sounds like the sound of the wind as you fly fast and high. Also 'reverse flying' makes aiming in a dogfight game too easy in my opinion. But those are just small side flavours, nothing negative for the game.
I've made a video showcasing this Jam's games, and Makai Crawlers's part is here:

Well-done! It even has customization and the gameplay is smooth.
Best thumbnail ever XD.
Taking down planes was the best part, boss fight was ok until I figured out the laser was too useless, the other weapons were the right choice to take and the firing system was intuitive.
I must suppose Sakuya is in those planes because of her danmaku xD, the only confusing mission was the first one because the shrine isn't that visible, but all of them were good.
The way the plane flights is just so epic, maybe a more epic audio for the final boss would be great but an amazing job overall.
Flight model may not be the most polished one of them all, but I can't say I wasn't every entertained when playing this, good job
Wew I don’t play a lot of airplane dogfighter games, but I’d say I got to feel like a pilot swerving around, going for the height advantage and trying not to get my tail chased.
Immersion took a nose-dive when I realized I couldn’t pull an ultimate sacrifice and explode into an opponent, but its plenty funny bouncing into both the environment and enemy planes.
Barrel-rolling away from an incoming laser was hella fun, but I would’ve also liked to see more AI gunning my tail too.
The music stops, when you fail. Overall, I really liked the concept, I've never played Ace Combat, but I was reminded of Airfix Dogfighter, which I used to play a lot as a child. So this game felt nostalgic to me. Also, I'm impressed by the amount of work done in only three days, this is a very solid one for the jam.
My only problem is the prep screen, it's fiddly, and the sliders kind of don't indicate, why they jump from place to place. Also, I would love some indication, that W increases speed (maybe, add a sound engine, which revves up with the speed). But outside of those nitpicks, and incredibly well made jam game.
I lost the AI opponents, hit the area wall, crashed into a mountain, and had the time of my life. Good game outta ten what the heck is Ace Combat
Amazing work, I like ace combat games and had fun playing this (took me a while to figure out W increased speed btw). Adding danmaku to combat flight is a great concept!
I wish I could see the models up close, they look nice.
I never played any ace combat before but this game is fun. The controls might need some time to get used to, but overall it is pretty slick. the plane customization could use some explanation though, also the sliders aren't seem to be working. One thing I would recommend if you guys are expanding this game is some aim assist since those flying planes can be annoying to hit.
also the AI can get stuck into walls, which naturally leads to cheese. One thing I really like about this game is the sound effects. It is clear and it makes the player's action feel satisfying. 10/10 explosion sounds.

not familiar with the gameplay style at all but i was able to figure it out and it controls pretty nicely. had some trouble fighting the enemies but the boss was super cool and made some pretty lil danmaku
How do you make an Ace Combat game in 3 days?? This was fun to play, I was not expecting a flight sim or a dogfighting game from a Touhou jam, but like wwhhff pointed out, it was cool to get both! The main issues I had are that you can reverse a plane (although it's not exactly gamebreaking), and the sliders being very glitchy, where I couldn't tell how much I was supposed to be able to allot to each stat and could never even spend all of my power. The customizable loadout was a great choice, though.
Cool game! Seeing someone else took a similar approach but from a different angle really put a smile on my face. The aircraft customization panel is a nice touch. Now we have both military and general aviation flight sim for touhou, from the same jam!
2hu thunder. niiiiice
Tad nice. Also a tad annoying that enemies can fire through terrain
Really impressive considering this was for a jam
Dogfighting shouldn't be allowed to be this cute.
The controls are smooth and easy to grasp. The gray skybox does allow for visibility, so that's a nice touch. Really cool that you were able to provide a working air-to-air combat system. With mythical girls in a mythical location and a mythical aircraft that was never meant to fly, crafted by someone with mythical modeling skills. I want to say that the plane isn't maneuverable enough, but that might just be me not wanting to move the camera around too much in light of my own tendency for motion sickness.
Also, re: the bug with hanging bullets, Sakuya needs to chill.
