Loved the art style! Not very good at stompin rats, but I am nimble!

The graphics in the game are amazing! The battle mechanic could be improved, but other than that, I had a good time playing the game.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely do agree that the melee could be improved, and I will be significantly updating it in the future full version of this game 😁

This is a really good looking game and I love the way the characters all look.
A melee attack with a clearer forward-facing hitbox would be preferable to the stomp, I think - it's not entirely clear where it's meant to hit. I also noticed that a couple of rats would be effectively immortal and not die even after six or so stomps

Developer

Yeah, I definitely plan on completely reworking the melee mechanics in the full version of this game 👍

Impressive work for the scope of a jam. The aesthetics, both visually and in sound may not be my personal taste but I can see that a lot of love and detail was put into them and have big respect for the result. Well executed backgrounds, stellar animation.

The "battle" mechanics can still need some improvement and it wasn't clear for me if I am actually taking damage from these rats.

Developer

Thank you so much, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I also agree that the melee could be greatly improved and I plan on reworking it in the future 😄

I felt the web version was lagging, the animation were most of the time very slow but sometimes got faster. Also, on the third screen I died two times because rocks ends up falling, not knowing where to go next. And it said “to be continued” instead of inviting to retry. But the art is very cool, and the music is nice, so I guess I won’t see the rest of the game :(

Sorry to hear that, the web version lagging might just be an internet connection issue. However, for the rock part, you are supposed to fall and the "To be continued" is the end of the demo.

I love the graphics and the aesthetics, super super cool really. The game itself hasn't been too scary for me and I find it a bit slow in the movements of the character, sometimes I found it frustrating how slow he jumps and how smooth he moves. Although it is true that it fit with the aesthetics of the game, however perhaps I have fallen short in terms of action. But as I said, the aesthetics are super cool. I hope to keep testing it in case you keep working and upload the updates.

Great vibe & atmosphere. LOV3 the style & aesthetic. Think it could benefit from a little eerie, background music though. Or, at least some at the title screen. Other than that, I think we might have a game that's right up my alley on our hands

Amazing animation and  sound design really set a eerie  atmosphere

I like the movement and art of the game, very beautiful to look at, Movement feels smooth and very intuitive, the attack mechanic is a little inconsistent but is fun to use.

The art  is very lovely! As well as the movement being very nice and smooth, I think my timing stomping the rats just sucked ass :D But actually very nice way to make the ladders, it's such a small thing but I really dig it heh.

Good work on this ^^

I'm so happy to hear you liked it 😄

I've been hearing a lot of people saying the stomping is hard to do, and honestly as the developer, I think I should've made the stomp hitbox a bit bigger

A really nice platformer with simple mechanics. It is kinda cool that you can stomp on the button. I have no questions for level design in the first room because everything is clear with that, but I still don’t know how to fight rats (maybe I had to stomp in timing and a book would knock them. I tried, but it was too hard and I prefer just to avoid them). You should also check the browser version because I wasn’t able to go after the falling platforms.

I also have to say a word about the graphics and sound because in this aspect everything is great – animations, style, voice and sounds. I would recommend you to think about background music to make the atmosphere a bit more creepy, but maybe that wasn’t your main goal and in this case everything is fine.

Overall I really enjoyed this short platformer and I recommend everyone try it.

Developer(+1)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Also the falling platforms is the end of the demo for now👍

Cute but scary house looking at the items laid at some places. Animations are pretty cool in addition to the art style, I find the character a bit slow imho. There is even a tutorial and hints, that’s great ! Now I want to see more. Good job !

I saw cute rat and had to play. How dare you give the opportunity to stomp them, shame. Very pretty game though, nice work!

I loved the aesthetic of the game and the rats are so cute, in fact it was difficult to kill them …

The art is simply amazing. Well done!

really cute game. I liked music, sounds and visuals!) Great job) Play also my games, its fun halloween chasing)

Love the art style, sound, and general vibe. I also appreciate the tutorial level as that seems to be something skimped out on a lot in game jams
(my only issue might be that the rats are too cute... I loved them and couldn't bring myself to stomp them...)

Very nice art style!

Definitely a short one, but the platforming seemed fine, also was interesting that the ladders accelerated you instead of you climbing them.

Good job!

Terrific art, the style was very coherent and worked well with the music. The jumping was a little finicky and I didn't seem to be able to get the timing for stomping down to where I didn't get hurt but some tuning to the platform elements and more content and this would be great.

Really loved the theme and art. A wanted to play more, it was too short. But the finished levels are fine. GG!
