That is a common bug on itch.io that happens with some browsers. Unfortunately I don't believe there is a fix for it and some itch web games just won't have proper audio. I have the same issue with most itch web games myself because I use Opera Gx. As per most itch games I highly suggest playing one of the download versions because it will not only fix that problem, but it will likely run significantly better too 😀👍

The broken branch is mostly just to startle the player and then drop them right into a fight with a hunter Lmao

It mostly depends on your playstyle, there's a lot of rocks and trees that you can use the Aerial form to get on and strike from above or sneak past hunters. There's also a lot of strategically placed tall grass that allow you to use the Depths form to stealth your way near hunters and lure them over for an easy ambush (my personal favorite strat)😄
