Just goes to show narratives aren't limited by bits and resolutions, very well done!

Thank you! If only I had more time to make it even more narrative, to add a text adventure feel to it, not just messages which help with the puzzles and fillers!

You managed to make a Nokia simulator, very cool! And it totally obeys the jam theme. Congratulations on the idea!

Developer

Many thanks!

Cool way of telling a story and also perfectly executed. I truly enjoyed this one. Great job :)

Developer

Thanks a lot!

This is such a lovely take on the theme, I could feel for this grandpa as I discovered more and more of his texts/scores etc. Love the nokia feel, loved the mood and super happy to have found Jack in the end :)

Awesome entry!

This is an incredible puzzle/simulation of an old phone! Well done!

Thank you!

I had fun solving the puzzles for this game! I'm happy to say that Gramps will get his phone back. I love that you were able to include such sweet personality from the characters in just a few lines of text. Great job!

Developer

You're a champ for returning the phone, congrats!

A fun, cute puzzle game that makes fantastic and creative use of the prompt and restrictions. It was also very nostalgic :)

Developer

Aaw, thank you ^^

Really enjoyed this.  Way more fun than the premise suggests!

Thank you so much!

This was a very interesting concept for a narrative game. For the most part, puzzles were logical and easy to trace out.

I actually had the most trouble with the initial PIN. I assumed that the hint was suggesting some permutation of day/month/year for the birthday instead of just the four-digit year. Not sure how to prevent overthinking on that one. If you want to make it more forgiving perhaps you could make the game quietly accept a few alternative solutions?

While I get that the battery level mechanic was included to incorporate the jam theme, I felt it was mainly a source of frustration when trying to explore the contents of the phone thoroughly.

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time for this review! We're pretty much on the same page, I'm definitely doing those post jam!

This was awesome! I'd love to have done something as large as this if I had the time haha, great job.

I love that the game revolves around the phone itself. Nicely done.

I put in the country code 444 and Jack's number 3146113687, but it doesn't seem to work, just want to check this is working as intended.

Developer(+1)

Yup, this is correct, this is not the number you're supposed to add the country code, now that itch is back online, I'll make a quick walkthrough! Thank you so much for playing!

I love these types of short mystery games. It's so well polished and feels like a real phone.  The graphics and puzzles are super charming and clever! I finished it, so it definitely is possible! Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! You're the 1st person who finished it with no clues, other than my playtesting friend who is really into adventure and point and click games, congrats!

I feel stupid I can't even unlock the phone XD haha

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! If you fdeel like trying it again, I uploaded a walkthrough, so now you know what to do with the PIN! You're not the  stupid one here, maybe I should do it easier since it's riddle number 1 and some people might not even be able to see the game!

Really cool idea and awesome execution. Felt like using an old phone while playing, the design is on point.  I couldn't call Jack even with the country code. Pretty sure im missing something but i enjoyed the game nonetheless.

Very nice concept and application for the jam. Its naturally immersive and makes you want to keep fiddling through the phone.

Submitted(+1)

Wow! I am super impressed, really! Very clever implementation of the theme, everything on point!
I enjoyed the game very much but couldn't manage send a message to Jack. I think I have the right number and country code but it doesn't work. Maybe I'm missing something..

Anyhow, best game so far! Well done :)

Thank you so much! I guess I gotta make a playthrough video in case someone gets stuck, I can't tell what you couldn't figure out but it seems like you were in the right direction!

Submitted(+1)

I'll give it another try now :)

Submitted(+1)

YES I finally figured it out :) there was something I overlooked hehe

Thank you so much for taking the time! You're the best!
