This game is so smooth and polished, you can tell it’s gonna be good from the moment you start and there’s that smooth gradient transition. This must’ve taken a lot of work, well done!
Wow! That feeling of dread you get when you know you're about to crash in outer wilds- now for Nokia 3310 haha I had a great time!
And using flashing pixels to make a 'third colour' is ingenious! Well done!
This is amazing, I was totally blown away once I started driving the spaceship, I couldn't believe it! I want to learn how you did all this, thanks for posting the github link.
Haha if you're talking about the 3D math, it's mostly in https://github.com/noaner/kuiper-shift/blob/main/src/math.ts -- sorry, it's a little messy. I worked off a few tutorials but relied a lot on this one: https://www.3dgep.com/understanding-the-view-matrix/. Figuring out rotations was the hardest part (but important to making the ship controls feel natural!). I wound up using matrices and referencing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotation_matrix quite a bit. And tbh a lot of it was trial and error--I still don't know how or why some of it works.
That helps a lot, thank you!
Very impressive, I love the way the asteroids move around!
This is fantastic! It's fun, adorable and weirdly relaxing. The implementation of the 3D space is really clever as well
One of my favorites from this jam! Everything is really good, my only criticism would be that the acceleration sound effect is a bit harsh. Well done!
Quite the melancholy experience! Interesting how buying the calendar made me feel alone, so I bought more plants and felt even lonelier... the feels are too real. Really good game, says a lot in a little time.
Thank you! Very much what I was going for
Awesome game! The 3D effect is great and its very satisfying to play.
Very fun and relaxing game. It blows my mind what can be achieved with such tough restrictions :)
Great game , pushing the limits of medium. Hats off ;)
This game was so lovely to play! It was quick to understand, and navigating the ship felt really good. I was terrible at controlling my ship without auto-brakes, but I appreciated the option for extra challenge. Living life in space with your plants, what more can you ask for?
Really nice game ! I love the the way you placed a 3D scene into a Nokia 3310 screen.
Great game, sets a good mood. Never thought i'd be mining ore in outer space on a 3310. Gameplay was interesting and the things you buy have meaning and make you want to progress.
I ran into a bug though. After disabling the auto-braking, i went crazy and drove like a maniac, then the accelerator got stuck in an infinite loop and i couldn't do anything else, plus the ship was stuck in place. Otherwise, everything else was smooth.
This game is so nice to just sit down and relax with. I could definitely see myself just playing this for an hour and not even realizing the time pass by. Love what you did with this.
So fun! love the concept
So atmospheric and unique! I LOVE the concept of using a border around a 3D view as a 2d scene. Mind BLOWN by that. The gameplay and loop of mining, taking care of plants, sleeping, etc really engaged me and made me feel invested for the long term; like a whole experience rather than just something quick to play for 5 minutes... I'm really excited to see if/what you do with this moving forward...
This game is awesome! I sunk about roughly a couple of hours into this, and I'm really happy I found this game! It would be cool to see where you might take this in the future!
WOW I'm flattered, that's the best kind of compliment! I didn't think anyone would play that long or I might have thought about a save system
You're welcome! I didn't think much about the lack of a save system since I either left the page open or was able to quickly get back to where I was, to be honest. Oh! I also checked out some other game you made called "Lemuria" and I loved that, too! Keep on making cool stuff!
Thank you so much! Haha, Lemuria was my first jam--pretty messy, as I remember it
Dude this is sick I love it. The controls feel super responsive even though it's 84x48. The sounds are great too.
