Yay, a maze game! I like how the flashlight on/off makes it even more challenging. I like the other commenter's suggestion about adding enemies, it could add a bit of a scare factor to it not knowing how close they'll be to you when the lights come back on, the countdown timer you mentioned could also do the same to add a sense of urgency.

Thanks for the feedback and the positive vibes! :) So many people have said this now, so after the jam first thing is gonna be to add that timer! :D

Pretty fun to traverse the maze. Do wish there was an extra path or two for variety. Still, if you happen to make more after the jam, I'll definitely try it out. I didn't time myself but I probably took 8-9 minutes to beat it (potentially longer than that even). I'll come back after I'm done rating to see if I can do better and get an actual time.

Thanks for the feedback and also for your enthusiasm, I still have some ideas for how to make the game have a bit more pressure or “challenging” feeling. If you do make it back to replay I just timed myself at 3½ minutes but I made some pretty bad mistakes on the last map so it should be easy to beat, good luck haha!

Thanks, glad you like it!

Simple as well very enjoyable. Perhaps make the maze larger and add some other type of paths or rooms. Overall, fantastic work

I’m glad you like it, thanks for the ideas!

This idea really has some potential. Have enemies in the maze that either work during light and/or dark, that sort of stuff. Right now it does get a tad repetitive. I think the Nokia 3310 aesthetics make it quite hard on the eyes at the current scale, I wonder what happens if you simple scale the graphics up (with a smaller maze). Nice submission nonetheless!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Enemies is a nice idea, I was originally hoping to implement a countdown timer that you had to beat to be able to finish it, so that there’s some time pressure but I got sick.

hard on the eyes at the current scale

Out of curiosity what scale are you playing it at? The game should be able to handle maximising the window to full screen. The 5th (final) level of the maze is so complex it fills the whole screen area that’s why the walls are only 1 (logical) pixel thick.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I was playing it on the page without fullscreen, with a maximized browser window @1080p. Fullscreen would probably have helped yes.
