Challenging game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Developer

Yeah seems like people are still having problems  with my game maybe based on this mechanic i will just make a better version of something

I love the idea, but it's kind of hard to tell that the block heights are even based on any kind of analysis of the song. Without it being obvious what's going on they just feel kind of random and disconnected from the music.

It's also really tricky to get the perspective of where the player character is landing without some kind of shadow showing where she is. The visuals are a lot of fun though!

Developer

Yeah ! i  see where you are coming from.

The platform represent the "Bands of the song" there are 8 bands like bass, treble,... so on

About the shadows as this game was made on a Light weight render pipeline so the platforms may not be able to have a shadow.

The idea seems interesting. But it can also be a bit unfair. If the player is on a platform about that is about to disappear without any reachable platform next to them, they'll inevitably lose just because of bad luck... Also, the jumping doesn't feel really precise or dynamic, it's a bit weird to control.

But still, it's interesting how the music data is used in the game. There is potential in that. Congrats for this prototype!

Developer

Thanks for the feed back !

yeah! i did get a few complaints on that i will be working on a mass to foce ratio to make the jumps a bit less "Airey " a system to just know your score for now and a a more further TP Cam so you can see more of the level.

Submitted

Interesting concept, but it needs more.

Developer

Hey :D
i will be adding a bit more soon like a few more song options from NCS.

and an actual menu system with a bit tighter controls and a more flexible TPS cam (Its just a few settings)

And a small local scoring system hopefully.

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that a video of one of my playthrough/reviews is up and you're a part of it!
Take a look here:

Developer

Well, there's just not a lot to this game thus far.  I'm not sure what you meant about death playforms... I just stood on one the whole time... It like, flashed and stuff but I didn't really get that aspect.  I think this has potential but I totally get the time crunch/life happens underdeveloped game.

Great work though!

Developer

there is a platfrom under you that will rise and fall based on the average of all the bands of the music that will finally kill you :P

Submitted

Looks really nice, but the perspective makes platforming tricky. It's a shame you couldn't finish it.

Developer

What do you think should i change to make it better i have another month before i submit it for uni stuff as well :D

so do tell me

The graphics and audio visualization is awesome! Good job! But the character movement didn't feel right.

Developer

Any input seems good :D

just tell me what will make it better

Liked the neon graphics! It's a little hard to guess where I would land though. Sometimes you can 'hug' the side of the platform to prevent falling down ;)

Developer

Hey that was kinda on purpose to give people a chance to you know. In the words of star trek"Klingon" (cling on ) so that the game does not get too hard also it was easier to code in a short time XD

I found it really difficult, mostly because I couldn't figure out where my player was most of the time. I think a shadow or something similar below the player would really help.

Developer

Hey ! yeah Sorry as it was made in the lightweight render Pipeline i could not put in Real-time lighting in.

But ! i will look into making sure that there should be another way for you to see sooner or later where you are landing.

if i get enough complaints like this:D

Again thank you for the input
