Almost forgot to rate your game. It have a good core loop. The dificult curve could be better and the mobility more fluid but is overall a good jam game.

The lanes were a fun idea and you executed it really well, the shop system was quite ingenious and I liked that a lot and the upgrades were really good and helped with the game a lot. Nice job.
Played it till I got the last upgrade. It's really engaging thanks to the upgrade mechanic. I like the different enemy types and power ups. I also subscribe to a piercing ammo powerup. Exploding ammo could also be a great power up for a few seconds where a hit affects also nearby lanes, but you can also damage yourself if you hit an arrow right in front of you.
Movement speed is also a thing. I had the feeling sometimes the switching of lanes wasn't as responsive as i would want it to be. Overall it's a really great game though that could be played for hours if there was a bit more variation to it :)
Thanks for your kind reply! I'm really glad and even more surprised you liked the game so much so you progressed to the maximum. Wow, I did not expect somebody would play it for hours if the game had more content :D. Thanks for your suggestions, they are interesting and I'll look into them! Definitely the game will be updated thanks to all your feedback.
Have a nice day!
Really good entry!
I can see this one becoming a nice time waster mobile game, judging by it's style (Screen size and for having only 3 inputs). The sideway movement was, for me, the best feature you have added here. And if I could, I would personally add two new upgrades: Movement speed and Shoots Piercing.
Anyway, congratulations for making this one!
Your idea of shoot piercing is superb! While I was designing upgrade system for the third one I was choosing between ordinary DMG+ and Shoot Piercing. I wanted to let the player be able to keep up to increasing enemies' HP and DMG, so I've chosen DMG+ as an purchaseable upgrade - though having a Shoot Piercing ability as a temporary powerup would be great!
Thanks for your kind feedback and time you've put into it!
Right, so...
The game looks good, but controls feel a bit weird. I am not sure what's wrong with it, I just didn't have "I like it" feeling.. Shooting: if you walk + shoot, sometimes arrows will lounge a bit off the grid, dealing damage to the enemies anyway..
I found it difficult (probably because of combinations of enemies..)+ challenging. Smart way to make a menu as you did, liked it!
Overall, good job.
Thought this was a very nice submission. I played to the point where I had all the upgrades, high score was 139 on the last level I played. This game had a great deal of little things which gave it a sense of polish - the animations of the player character moving and death, the sound effects were tastefully done, the UI in general was nicely layed out. The only thing I would say as a mild criticism would be that I'd love to have had some kind of boss or harder enemy. The mages, skeletons and ghosts were distinct, but the threat levels of each of them was roughly similar. Having a big bad boss at some point or some other kind of target/objective might just give the levels that little more spice. This being said, you should be very pleased - well done :)
I have played till i had all upgrades but i do not understand what the red crystal do. I like the sound and music but the pause between the loops in the music disturbs the flow of the game. After every run i upgrade and play another round to look how strong i am. Good motivation system. I like the game. It was fun to play. Good job! :)
Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game so far that you even bought all the upgrades. Knowing that somebody likes my game so much that he is ready to buy all upgrades is warming my heart :D.
By the way, red crystal doubles your damage. I should have added some powerup feed for showing what powerups do. You gave me an idea how to improve the game!
Hey, what do you think of reaching each other out? If you don't mind, you can give me your e-mail or Discord contact.
You can get my e-mail from my website in the contact section https://www.nexttime.at/contact/. And i have added it now to my itch.io creators page https://kytric.itch.io/.
As others have said, it is quite difficutl since the beginning, but that wasn't a problem for me, I managed to survive for some time.
Maybe you could give the player more chances to get by in some situations where many ranged enemies line up and you're basically screwed.
The upgrades are satisfying to get and the overall gameplay is very nice. Unfortunately it crashed for me on browser when I bought the second health upgrade, but I won't reduce my rating for that.
Good job :)
Hey there again! I've just released a Shop Patch 1.1 that solves the crash problem upon purchasing second upgrade in a row. I've also scaled down prices so you can finally not only have all the upgrades, but don't waste a lifetime on affording them!
Thanks for your previous support. I'll be glad if you play the game again.
I gave it another go, thanks for the update.
I noticed one thing: the enemies' hitpoints increase over time. That's a good thing, since it increases challenge too, but the fact is that you don't know exactly how many hits an enemy will need to be killed, until it's dead. So you could use some color coding, or any kind of coding, to make it visually clear how much an enemy is powerful.
Last note, I'd make the guy in the top right of the shop killable. Not really important, but it's an unnecessary, small and funny detail that would give a laugh to anyone who found it (and also some satisfaction for finding a secret)
Haha man thanks a lot for both suggestions, especially the one about the merchant. At first I want to hide an easter egg about Charon from Greek mythology (actually Hades The Game easter egg) but I did not have time to implement it. I'll think about this fun secret you offered to implement.
By the way, what abut to reach each other out? We can contact via e-mail or Discord, if you want.
There was a big spike in difficulty at the beginning of the game. Although it doesn't take too long to get the upgrades to handle them, I don't think the first impressions should have such a high difficulty. After I was able survive/get better, I was able to have a lot more fun with it, whilst still being challenged. Nice job :]
At the beginning of playing I was like oh this is easy I got this... then the difficulty spiked lol. It might have been a bit too quick of a spike but it was fun and I enjoyed the challenge as who wants to sit there and play if the game is too easy the whole time. I played for a bit and managed to get a few power-ups, but I feel like you could have made them a bit cheaper but that aside the game was pretty fun to play I enjoyed it quite a bit. The different enemies were engaging and I had fun the whole time I was playing it. Nice work on this submission! If you have the time and wanna check out the puzzle game we made for the jam any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for dedicating time for my project! Haha, your kind feedback really make me happy that the game makes someone engaged :D. I'll surely change speed of accelerating difficulty curve and lower down the prices after the jam is over and I'm able to release patches.
You've said you bought some upgrades at the shop... Can you please tell me if you bought second level of any upgrade? I know about an issue that upon purchasing second level of any upgrade at the shop the HTML version of the game can just freeze and crash. It would be really helpful if you replied on it, since I myself have this problem.
Also, I'll make sure to check and rate your submission as well.
Have a nice day!

Maybe I'm bad at the game but the powerups are super expensive for a jam game :D
Love the idea though, simple controls, easy to understand.. I wish the information was placed at the top or more visible alongside the screen. Maybe add some player feedback upon reloading or when ammo is low/empty.
Enjoyed it a lot though, would definitely buy/play on iOS if it was a little more polished.

I love the overall gameplay of this game. But I feel like the difficulty curve can be slighly tuned easier to make player stay alive a bit longer. And the A/D control feels little bit lag, maybe allows double move, i.e. if I press twice, it does not only move one grid, and then wait till I can press another time, but it will remember you have pressed two times and it will move twice.
Thanks for dedicating time for the game and feedback! Yeah, that difficulty curve, I was a bit afraid if the player would get bored too soon so tuned it up quite reasonably. I did not expect that the game would take so much attention so you really would want to stay alive for a bit longer :D
Also, thanks for noticing the bug! I'll fix when I'll be able to.
