I love the visuals and the concept, it's too bad you didn't have time to implement the rest of the game, I would have loved to play through it!

I love the visuals of this. The art is extremely well done!
The idea is very cool. I like how you dealt with the limitation. Using the birds to keep the player moving, but not outright making it so they can't stop moving.

Good Job!

Absolutely adored the aesthetics and animation in this game. Super polished and professional looking.

I wish it could be played in an endless mode, but I understand that you needed to have a reason for the player to take shelter so if the player could run forever, they would not use it.

I agree with Hallow Inc, great shell to develop on top of. I would love to know the story of this game

I think the art was top notch, felt like its already a perfect style for a finished game. If you decide to continue development I think you have a very strong base to build off of.

You really managed to capture the spirit here, the black and white work perfectly well, it's brillantly simple, for me your game prove "more" doesn't always mean better.

Very good for what was provided obviously the art and environment are the main elements of note.

i agree with the comments below. visually really great, lacking in mechanics and sound. i’m sure if you had a little more time this would be amazing.

Great game and nice pixel art, I hope you continue developing this game

Interesting game. I really like the graphics and the movements of the birds. I wish there was a little more gameplay, but the game looks very nice.

Nice idea, very original. I like the only goal is survive but i think i could be more challenging with a timer. But definitely it is a very good game with a great art and concept

Awesome concept. Particularly love the movements of the birds and how they surround you if you don't move. The colour pallete is perfect and does evoke  great sense of tension from the birds. Loved this concept and how you've executed it

cool art and oncept but there is no goal for the game like score or level ending.

awesome ! the controls are straightforward, the colors put me in a really immersive experience , the smooth bird physics is impressive,  overall I enjoyed playing, congratulations! keep it up!

Cool idea and great incorporation of the theme and limitation of the jam. Epic art style and I like the door animation! I really had the feeling being chased/desperate to escape.

It could need more player feedback however (at least for me there was no sound).

Developer

Yeah, sound and visual feedback really are the two things I'd wished to have more time for.

Oh well, that's how jams go. Impressive what you managed to submit!

I really like the art and how smooth the birds move. The bird AI is awesome, and makes you feel intimidated. I'm sad there's no greater end goal, I could see people paying money for this if it was expanded and finished. Amazing bones of a game.

Developer

Thanks! I'm really considering expanding this beyond the current scope. Unfortunately, my "games I'm working on" backlog is almost as long as my "games I need to play" backlog.

nice game, although I wished you had time to make the game more longer I am impressed of the coding and the art design of the game, good job :)

This game was different to what I'm used to. I love the art style and the concept. Good Job!

Nice and clean game :)
Good job!

The flock feels great and the character animations are really smooth and cool!

Developer

Thanks!

The concept is very good, I really liked it, something that surprised me is the movement of the birds, it looks very real, how did you achieve it?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The bird physics were inspired by how real birds flock. I have one (invisible) lead bird who always tries to navigate in the direction of the player (with weighted randomness added to the up/down movement, to simulate swooping down). Every other bird tries to navigate to the place the previous bird was one frame ago.

The key part is that they don't immediately change their direction, only their speed. So every time they get close to their target they overshoot and have to correct the course again.
